Harley Quinn Season 3 Gets a July Release Date
HBO Max's animated Harley Quinn series returns for its third season in late July, the streamer announced today. The first three episodes of the season will debut on July 28, followed by weekly episodes through September 15.
Season 3 picks up the story of Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) toward the end of their "Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour" that kicked off at the end of Season 2 — and continued through the tie-in comic of the same name. Upon returning to Gotham, the "new power couple of DC villainy" attempt to fulfill "Ivy’s long-desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise."
The Season 3 teaser trailer begins as Harley presents Ivy with a kidnapped Amanda Waller, before transitioning into a montage of clips from the season ahead. It's brutal, it's horny, it's everything we've come to love and expect from the adult animated comedy.
Along for the joyride are King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Frank the Plant (JB Smoove), Kite Man (Matt Oberg), Batman (Diedrich Bader), Catwoman (Sanaa Lathan), and Commissioner Gordon (Christopher Meloni), among many others. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn also appears as himself.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel Coming in December 2023
Sony Pictures has announced the next Ghostbusters movie will premiere on December 20, 2023.
The studio announced its upcoming schedule and confirmed that a new Ghostbusters movie will hit theaters next year after the success of the recent reboot, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Director Jason Reitman and writer Gil Kenan also confirmed that the sequel will return to the series' home of New York City for the sequel.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was released in 2021 and follows the grandchildren of one of the original Ghostbusters, Egon Spengler. However, the action takes place on a farm in Oklahoma, far away from New York City.
Carrie Coon stars as Callie Spengler, while Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace play her children Trevor and Phoebe. Paul Rudd also appears as a science teacher and seismologist Gary Grooberson.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was directed by Jason Reitman, son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman.
As well as being commercially successful, Ghostbusters: Afterlife was also a critical hit. IGN's review gave the movie a 9 calling saying fans will be ready to "fall in love with the Ghostbusters all over again."

Xbox Games With Gold for July 2022 Revealed
Microsoft has announced that July 2022's Games with Gold are Beasts of Maravilla Island, Relicta, Thrillville: Off the Rails, and Torchlight.
As revealed on Xbox Wire, the four Games with Gold offerings will be available to anyone with Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, with Beasts of Maravilla Island and Thrillville: Off the Rails available starting on June 1.
Beasts of Maravilla Island is a Pokémon Snap-esque game where players take on the role of a wildlife photographer exploring a mysterious island. Players will solve puzzles and interact with the wild and wacky creatures of Maravilla island in the two to three hour adventure.
Also available on July 1 but only until July 15 is Thrillville: Off the Rails, an Xbox 360 game from 2007 that lets players manage their own theme park and build their own rollercoasters. Though it's relatively simple overall, the myriad mini-games sprinkled in led IGN to call it "a fun little package" in our 7/10 review.
Available later in the month, on July 16, is Relicta, a first-person, physics-based puzzle game where players must creatively combine magnetism and gravity in order to proceed. Taking on the role of a physicist stranded on a derelict moon base, solving puzzles is the only way to save your daughter and perhaps all of humanity in these eerie sci-fi adventure.
Finally, Torchlight is available on the same day, but only until July 31. This action-RPG comes from the creators of Diablo, and brought a fresh take to the genre when it was released in 2009. In our 8/10 review, IGN said: "That quest for loot is a lonely, solitary affair, but if Torchlight grabs you, it might be a while before it lets go."
Be sure to redeem June 2022's Xbox Games with Gold before they leave the service, which include Aven Colony, Project Highrise: Architect's Edition, Super Meat Boy, and Raskulls.

Pokémon Go Creator Niantic Announces NBA All-World
Pokémon GO creator Niantic has announced an official NBA game called NBA All-World, where players will walk around the real world meeting basketball stars instead of pocket monsters or Pikmin.
The game looks visually similar to Pokémon Go, and Niantic revealed a handful of screenshots (below) alongside a brief reveal trailer. In them, the player can be seen encountering Nikola Jokić and Draymond Green.
PokéStop equivalent in-game locations will be found at basketball courts and sporting goods stores, among other places, and players can pick up new items and upgrades for their NBA or blacktop games, or just cosmetic items to spruce up their avatar.
The likes of Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum can also be seen outside of main world map, likely showing off this game's version of gyms from Pokémon Go, where players "battle" against NBA stars in basketball games. Marcus Matthews, who worked on the original NBA 2K and is senior producer of NBA All-World, said in a blog post that "Niantic has been hard at work to forge a new type of sports game".
NBA All-World "blends the real world with 1-on-1 basketball action, collecting, fashion and more," he added. "Our development partner in Orlando, HypGames, has been stellar at leveraging their sports gaming expertise to deliver a fantastic experience, one that will appeal to both casual and core hoops fans alike."
NBA All-World is set to be released alongside the 2022-2023 NBA season. Players can pre-register for a chance to play the game ahead of its full launch.
The game is certainly a far cry from traditional basketball games. The mainline NBA 2K franchise aims to simulate the professional basketball experience, while NBA 2K Playgrounds is more chaotic, arcade fun.

The Day Before: Developer of Steam’s Most Wishlisted Game Defends Using Unpaid Volunteers
Fntastic, the developer behind Steam's most wishlisted game The Day Before, has defended its use of unpaid workers.
Speaking to Eurogamer, the company claimed every employee, paid or not, is a volunteer, because "we always try to bring in proactive people with open hearts".
Fntastic categorises its workers in two camps: full-time volunteers and part-time volunteers. The former are regular, paid employees, while the latter are unpaid workers who contribute to game development, "ranging from translating to community moderating" according to the online application form. These unpaid workers can "get cool rewards, participation certificates, and free codes".
"The company's values are built upon the idea of volunteering which means that every person who works or volunteers here is doing that willingly, acts with dedication, and enthusiasm, and supports the team by any means possible," Fntastic said.
"We have many people around the world who are helping us out in many ways, they are part-time volunteers. They help with any projects that we have. While full-time volunteers are the employees of the company. We share these values within the company because we always try to bring in proactive people with open hearts."
The company faced criticism online following an update to its website that included the dedicated volunteers page. You can see an example below:
Unpaid work at a AAA studio to create a MMO on UE5 in 2022? How about Fntastic pays its workers that are helping deliver a massive project? It's gotta be a joke oof
— Jordan Dragon (@jordanDragon_) June 27, 2022
Fntastic revealed last month that The Day Before - an open world survival MMO - had been delayed until next year as the studio switched over to Unreal Engine 5. "The transition to a more advanced and adapted open worlds engine, will make the gameplay of The Day Before even more fantastic," it told IGN. "The new release date of the game will be March 1st, 2023."

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Blasts Off This October
During today’s Nintendo Direct, we got several more details about Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, including a release date for the tactical sequel to Nintendo and Ubisoft’s unusual collaboration: October 20, 2022.
But we also learned a bit more today about Sparks of Hope, notably that it will include Bowser as one of the nine playable characters. There’s more to come on Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, too, as we’ve been promised a special presentation tomorrow, June 29 at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern /5pm UK with even more details about the upcoming game, so stay tuned.
Sparks of Hope promises a number of changes to Kingdom Battle’s tactics formula, most notably allowing free movement around the map instead of using a grid-based system, and introducing some strange new Rabbids – including Rabbid Rosalina. We know from the announcement that it will remain an entirely single-player game, and will feature new equipable partners called Sparks, which offer both active and passive bonuses in battle.
We first learned about Sparks of Hope over a year ago at Ubisoft E3 2021, and today’s presentation was the first significant chunk of info we’ve gotten since then. It’s a sequel to 2017’s Kingdom Battle, which we praised for its surprising XCOM-like complexity and variety of enemies, objectives, and abilities.
