Microsoft has confirmed that it is working on an affordable streaming device capable of streaming Xbox games through the cloud.

Windows Central reports that it received confirmation from Microsoft that its streaming dongle - codenamed 'Project Keystone' - is meant to be an easy and affordable option for people that want to play and access games on Xbox Cloud Gaming.

"Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming is unwavering, our goal is to enable people to play the games they want, on the devices they want, anywhere they want," a Microsoft spokesperson told Windows Central. "As announced last year, we've been working on a game-streaming device, codename Keystone, that could be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console."

Microsoft also told Windows Central that it has decided to "pivot away" from its current iteration of Project Keystone and will "take [its] learnings and refocus [its] efforts on a new approach that will allow [it] to deliver Xbox Cloud Gaming to more players around the world."

This is not the first time rumors of a streaming stick that offers Xbox Cloud Gaming have been thrown out the window. Last year Xbox signaled that it wants to build a global ecosystem that would allow as many people to experience Xbox on devices such as smart TVs and streaming sticks but said its hardware would remain the flagship experience.

Hangar 13, the studio behind Mafia III, is facing yet another round of layoffs.

According to a report by Kotaku, developers at all three of the studio’s worldwide locations were let go today. The layoffs have hit the Novato, California office particularly hard — nearly 50 developers at this office alone lost their jobs, drastically shrinking the size of the office’s staff, which had just 87 employees before today.

“I know it sucks,” Brighton, UK office head Nick Baynes told Novato staffers today, according to Kotaku. “I’m sorry I’m not over there to deliver this message. I will be coming over soon. I know you need some local leadership and structure and we’re working on it.”

This isn’t the first time Hangar 13 has laid off large numbers of staffers — the studio fired significant numbers of employees in both 2017 and 2018. The studio was also drastically affected by the cancellation of the Take-Two project titled Volt, which was scrapped despite a $53 million investment and left around 200 developers without a project.

According to Kotaku, Baynes said the plan is for remaining developers at Hangar 13 to focus on the Mafia prequel and Project Hammer, another project currently in the works.

The studio’s founder and head, Haden Blackman, stepped down earlier this month, and has coincided with a number of other voluntary departures alongside the layoffs.

2K shared the following statement with Kotaku:

"2K is fully committed to the future of Hangar 13 as the studio navigates a challenging but ultimately promising transition period. As part of our ongoing evaluations to ensure our resources are aligned with our goals, we have made some changes that have resulted in a reduction of positions and parting ways with some colleagues. These decisions are always difficult. We are doing all we can to work with the impacted employees to find them new roles on other projects and teams at 2K, and are providing full support to those who cannot be redeployed, connecting them with industry networks and resources to find new opportunities outside of 2K."

The first image from Indiana Jones 5 has been revealed and it shows Harrison Ford back as the legendary character once more.

The image was revealed at Star Wars Celebration alongside Ford sharing that work on the film is almost complete and that he is "very proud of the movie that we made."

After being officially announced in 2016, the film has seen Steven Spielberg drop from the director's chair to be replaced by Logan director James Mangold. Aside from Harrison Ford in likely his last outing as Indie, the movie will see Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen in the cast.

While we know Indiana Jones 5 wrapped filming in February 2022, we know very little else about this new story. We still don't even have a title and have yet to see any footage.

Despite that, the movie's set to go back to the franchise's roots and will arrive on June 30, 2023.

This Indiana Jones news was just one of the many reveals at Star Wars Celebrations so far, and joins the release date and first trailer of Star Wars' Andor, the official teaser trailer of Willow, the unveiling of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and the confirmation the third season of The Mandalorian and the premiere of Ahsoka will arrive in 2023.

The Mandalorian's third season is official, and is set for February 2023.

Announced today at Star Wars Celebration, the new season of the popular Star Wars TV series will continue the story of The Mandalorian and Grogu, who recently appeared in The Book of Boba Fett.

Following his transgressions in The Book of Boba Fett, it looks as though Din Djarin has been cast out from his Mandalorian tribe, with him asking Grogu, "Did you think your dad was the only Mandalorian?” during the Season 3 teaser trailer.

The upcoming season will see the mysterious Din Djarin head to Mandalore, the original homeworld of The Mandalorians, and will see the return of Katee Sackhoff as former Mand'alor (or leader of the Mandalorians), Bo-Katan.

We still have a while to wait before season 3, but that just gives plenty of time to catch up if you haven't seen the first or second seasons, both of which we loved in our reviews. Disney has officially announced Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, a new Disney+ original series that will launch in 2023 and will star Jude Law.

Revealed at Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is created by Spider-Man: No Way Home's Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will serve as producers.

This new series will follow a group of 10-year-old kids from a small planet who get lost in that galaxy far, far away and must try to find their way home. The story will take place after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and will fit within the timeline The Mandalorian and Ahsoka take place in.

Details of the then-untitled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew were reported on earlier this month and had a working title of Grammar Rodeo. It was also described as galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the '80s.

This Star Wars: Skeleton Crew news was just one of the many reveals at Star Wars Celebrations so far, and joins the release date and first trailer of Star Wars' Andor, the official teaser trailer of Willow, the first image from Indiana Jones 5, and the confirmation the third season of The Mandalorian and the premiere of Ahsoka will arrive in 2023.

The first trailer for Willow, the upcoming Disney+ fantasy series, has been shown at Star Wars Celebration 2022.

The Disney+ series is being produced by Ron Howard and will once again feature Warwick Davies as Willow Ufgood, a Nelwyn dwarf and sorcerer. During last year's Disney Plus Day it was confirmed that Willow would debut this November, so there's not long to wait.

The upcoming sequel is set 20 years after the original 1988 film Willow that it's based on. In the original story, an aspiring magician and an infant girl destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness. Now, the new series will focus on three new heroines who leave their kingdoms in search of the famous sorcerer, Willow.

Joanne Whalley will reprise her role as Sorsha alongside newcomers Ruby Cruz, who plays Kit Sorsha, Erin Kellyman, who plays Jade - Kit's best friend who grew up as an orphan in the castle and is trying to become a knight, and Ellie Bamber who plays Dove - a kitchen maid in love with Kit's brother. Additionally, Warwick Davis' real-life daughter Annabelle will star as Willow's daughter.

Willow will be executive produced by Jonathan Kasdan, Ron Howard, Wendy Mericle, Kathleen Kennedy, and Michelle Rejwan.

Willow will head to Disney+ on November 30, 2022. Andor just got an official release date at Star Wars Celebration 2022. It's coming on August 31 to Disney+ with a two-episode premiere.

During a panel at the event, we learned that not only will Andor's first season consist of 12 episodes, a second part is in works with another 12 episodes planned. The story begins five years prior to Rogue One.

Andor will follow the story of Cassian Andor, the rebel spy played by Diego Luna who first featured in Rogue One. Announced back in 2018, this is one of Lucasfilm's longest-running projects. It is set five years before the Death Star plans are stolen, and could include characters who were cut from other Star Wars films. Despite not having begun, it seems there is already plans for a second season, which may see the return of sassy droid K-2SO.

The Witcher 4 (for lack of an official name) has officially concluded its research phase and entered pre-production.

Confirmed in a CD Projekt Red blog post, the studio looked back on the first quarter of 2022 and revealed that, during this time, it completed its research for the new Witcher game.

Adding a little more detail in a developer update video (below), CD Projekt Red executive Piotr Nielubowicz said the game has now entered pre-production.

"We are very eager to revisit the universe which has shaped our history to such an extent," said president Adam Kiciński in the post. "We have recently concluded the research phase for the first game in the new Witcher saga, which means that from now on further development expenditures will be capitalized on our balance sheet."

Having only recently entered pre-production means that the new Witcher game is likely still years away, explaining why CD Projekt Red only revealed it with a single teaser image.

Something so small still spawned myriad fan theories, however, centred around the medallion which led some to believe that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Ciri would be the protagonist of the new game.

CD Projekt later confirmed the image to be that of a Lynx, but whether it's a new Witcher school or not is still up for debate.

We don't know too much else about the game, other than that CD Projekt Red has partnered with Epic Games to build it in Unreal Engine 5 and that its director has promised no crunch on his watch.

Elden Ring director and FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki has officially declared his favourite boss in the game to be Starscourge Radahn.

Speaking to Xbox Wire Japan (and independently translated by IGN), Miyazaki was asked what his favourite boss in Elden Ring is and was also asked to explain himself over the infamous, terrifying Spider Hand enemy found in Caria Manor.

"It's tough to decide", Miyazaki said about the bosses, "but I'd have to say Radahn. As an individual character he's really alluring, and I really like the Radahn Festival situation. There’s a literal sense of festivity and exuberance, but also a unique tinge of sadness and loneliness."

He also laughed that, when the Radahn Festival was first brought up - which is perhaps the most ambitious boss set piece in any FromSoftware game, in which various champions from across the land battle alongside you for glory against Radahn - "no one on the team took it seriously".

His second favourite boss, Miyazaki added, is either Godrick, the Grafted or Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, but one of his other favourite designs in the game is the Spider Hand, the giant 12-fingered hand that scuttles after players in Caria Manor.

"Spider Hand is one of my favourite designs," Miyazaki said. "It’s something you don’t want to even look at because it’s so horrible. I wonder if the way to overcome your issue is to face it head on and beat it."

Before Elden Ring was released, Miyazaki had given his favourite bosses across all of his games as the Old Monk from Demon's Souls, but he didn't comment if Radahn had dethroned that choice.

In our 10/10 review, IGN said: "Elden Ring is a massive iteration on what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to choose our own path."

Netflix has unveiled its schedule for Geeked Week 2022, a virtual five-day event packed with sneak peeks, trailers, cast panels, and a whole lot more.

Geeked Week will run from June 6 through to June 10 this year, with each day of the event dedicated to a different category to showcase Netflix's most hotly anticipated titles across various genres, including television series, movies, animation, games, and Stranger Things — which takes up an entire day of its own amid its longest and most ambitious season yet.

Here's a full rundown of what you can expect, courtesy of Netflix Geeked:

June 6

The first day will dig into mind-bending series such as The Umbrella Academy, which is returning to the platform with a new season on June 22, along with all-new shows like Resident Evil, coming up on July 14, and the Neil Gaiman-inspired Sandman series, which was greenlit back in 2019. A trailer for the event showed Gwendoline Christie's Lucifer in action.

The recently-released Geeked Week schedule also confirms that we will also be learning more about Netflix's adaptation of anime One Piece, First Kill, Alice in Borderland, All of Us Are Dead, Fate: The Winx Saga, Locke & Key, Manifest, School Tales The Series, Shadow and Bone, Sweet Tooth, The Midnight Club, Vikings: Valhalla, Warrior Nun, and 1899.

June 7

The following day will center around upcoming movie releases, including the Chris Hemsworth-led Spiderhead, Paul Feig's The School for Good and Evil, and the Russo Brothers' action thriller The Gray Man, which will see two of the world's greatest assassins attempt to hunt one another down when it releases on Netflix on July 22.

Geeked Week will spotlight more titles from Netflix's summer movie slate and beyond, which features a mix of rom-coms, action, drama, family films, and documentaries. The agenda for June 7 also lists Day Shift, The Sea Bast, Wendell & Wild, Blasted, Killer Book Club, Interceptor, and Troll as titles that fans will be geeking out over.

June 8

Midway through the event, Netflix will delve into all things animation. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a 10-episode series set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, is one of IGN's most anticipated anime of the year, and it will be headlining the third day alongside Love, Death & Robots, The Dragon Prince, Arcane, Inside Job, Exception, Farzar, and Moonrise.

June 9

Thursday will see Netflix go inside out (and upside down) with Stranger Things. The day will consist of an aftershow for Season 4 of the Duffer Brothers-created series, which will have already debuted Volume 1 on May 27, with the final two episodes coming on July 1. The event will also dig into "The Hellfire Club: A Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons Adventure."

June 10

The Cuphead Show! will take to the virtual stage on Friday, together with Sonic Prime, DOTA: Dragon's Blood, and Tekken: Bloodline. Netflix will also show off more than 10 Netflix games, including one based on Money Heist, as the streamer looks to ramp up its gaming-based content opportunities "from every direction" to further expand its offerings on the platform.
