Get Ready to See a Lot of Squid Game Halloween Costumes

Sales for green tracksuits and white Vans are up by thousands of percentiles indicating that the look from Squid Game might be the hottest costume for Halloween.

The unfortunate contestants on Squid Game, a life-or-death survival game where players can either win millions of Korean Won or die trying, are forced to wear a simple look. A striped green tracksuit and some white slip-on shoes.

According to sales metrics, this exact outfit is flying off the shelves. As reported by Variety and Sole Supplier, sales for white slip-on Vans have jumped 7,800% and online retailers are returning Squid Game-style outfits in search results for green tracksuits.

TV will supply plenty of inspiration for this year's Halloween costumes. After all, this is a year in which there have been many different Marvel shows on Disney Plus, as well as the continuation of Ted Lasso. I'd wager any one of these shows will fuel this year's Halloween parties.

Squid Game is the number one TV show on Netflix around the world and for good reason. The show about poor Koreans forced to play deadly children’s games for a chance to win millions and pay off their debts has resonated with the world.

Despite the seemingly overnight success, Squid Game was in development for 10 years as the director tried and failed to get the story made for the screen. And when Netflix finally went ahead and produced the show, the director revealed the intensity on the set caused him to lose six teeth to stress.

But the result is a global hit and critical success. Check out IGN’s Squid Game season 1 review, or our full breakdown of each deadly game shown in the series.

Walking Dead Season 11 Part 2 Premiere Date Officially Announced

The Walking Dead's next run of episodes in its final season will begin on February 20, 2022.

Deadline reports the second part of season 11 will feature 8 episodes. The first part of the season is wrapping up this weekend, with the third and final part set to debut sometime in the second half of 2022. The massive, 24-episode final season is the show's biggest ever, following a 22-episode effort in season 10.

A teaser trailer was released today on the official The Walking Dead YouTube page, along with the announcement that fans can start streaming the season as soon as February 13 on AMC+.

While The Walking Dead may be ending, a new spin-off show may be starting. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has previously confirmed that a Negan spin-off is "being talked about" and AMC has also already greenlit a spin-off about Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier.

Walking Dead fans will also still have Fear The Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. However, World Beyond is also only getting one more season, that is airing right now.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer Casts Cillian Murphy And Reveals a 2023 Release Date

Cillian Murphy will star in Oppenheimer, the next project from Christopher Nolan. The movie is set to premiere on July 21, 2023.

Deadline reports Murphy will play scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is known as the father of the atomic bomb. The actor is no stranger to working with Nolan, previously appearing in The Dark Knight Trilogy as Scarecrow, as well as Inception and a cameo in Dunkirk. Murphy was previously rumored to have a major role in the movie.

The movie marks Nolan's first time working with Universal. After he was publicly critical of Warner Bros.' decision to release movies on HBO Max at the same time as theaters, it seems he was ready to take his work elsewhere. The director also called HBO Max, "the worst streaming service."

Nolan is apparently targeting a $100 million budget for Oppenheimer, which he considers "smaller-scale" compared to his other films. When searching for a new partner, Nolan also reportedly demanded "total creative control, 20 percent of first-dollar gross, and a blackout period from which the studio wherein the company would not release another movie three weeks before or three weeks after his release.”

Tenet, Nolan's last film, underperformed at the box office, partially due to it releasing around the same time as a massive movie theater shutdown across the United States.

The Oppenheimer biopic will mark Nolan's return to World War 2 filmmaking, which he previously explored in 2017's Dunkirk. We called the movie 'amazing', saying, "Dunkirk doesn’t dwell on the horror of war but instead successfully conveys the sheer terror of it all through both small, human acts and deafening scenes of conflict."

Wheel of Time: Rosamund Pike Makes Her Entrance as Moiraine in New Clip

Rosamund Pike makes her entrance as Moiraine in a new clip from Amazon's Wheel of Time series released at its New York Comic Con panel -- and what an entrance it is.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins also announced at the panel three new cast members for Season 2: Ceara Coveney (Dad, The Amazing World of Emma) will join as a series regular, portraying fan-favorite character Elayne Trakand. Natasha O’Keeffe (Peaky Blinders, Misfits) and Meera Syal (The Kumars at No. 42, Broadchurch) will also join the show in Season 2, but their roles have not yet been revealed.

The new clip takes sets the timeline early in Robert Jordan's first Wheel of Time book, The Eye of the World, as Warder Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney) introduces Moiraine, a member of the Aes Sedai, an all-female organization who can channel the One Power to weld incredible magic. It also shows Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski), Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford), and Egwene al'Vere (Madeleine Madden) as they look on in awe.

The series will follow these five characters, in addition to Nynaeve al'Meara (Zoë Robins) and Mat Cauthon (Barney Harris), as they embark on a world-spanning journey to save humanity.

Other cast members include Johann Myers as the peddler Padan Fain, Hammed Animashaun as the ogier Loial, Alvaro Morte as Logain the False Dragon, and Alexandre Willaume as the gleeman Thom Merrilin.

Wheel of Time will premiere on Amazon Prime on Nov. 19, debuting with three episodes initially before dropping one new episode every Friday after that. It was renewed for a second season earlier this year, with both seasons consisting of eight episodes each.
