The Xbox Series X mini fridge has been an ongoing meme that Microsoft has played along with since the Xbox Series X console was first announced in 2019, where people compared the box-shaped design to that of a refrigerator. Last November, the company gave away a full-sized Xbox Series X-shaped fridge.
Last April, Xbox's Aaron Greenberg announced that it would indeed be making a Series X mini fridge after the company won a #BestOfTweets Branch Bracket Championship. While news on the mini fridge itself has been slim, at the end of Microsoft's E3 2021 showcase, the company confirmed that the Series X mini fridge would release sometime during the 2021 holiday season.

Dragon Age 4 Is Seemingly Next-Gen Only on Console
New information suggests that Dragon Age 4 will only be launching for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
As shared by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, experience listed on the LinkedIn profile for Dragon Age 4's Lead Player Designer Daniel Nordlander seems to suggest that the game will only feature as a console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with older generations set to miss out.
Dragon Age Is Next Gen Only & Deeper Character Classes I hope Bioware don't miss this time....@DaXboxUniverse @shinobi602 @Logmey92 @bogorad222 pic.twitter.com/zywS63Enyh
— Faizan Shaikh (@FaizShaikh7681) October 13, 2021
While Nordlander is no longer with Bioware – he left in 2020 to work as the Game Director on Godfall for Counterplay Games – GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb also separately reports to have confirmed rumors that EA is planning a next-gen only console release for the game. At present, however, it should be noted that the publisher has not publicly commented on which consoles that Dragon Age 4 will release for.
With little currently known about Dragon Age 4, and the game yet to receive an official release date, it might not come as a massive surprise to fans that the game may only be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (as well as PC, of course). Although EA is yet to move other franchises exclusively over to next-gen consoles, Dragon Age 4 could very well still be a way off, and the publisher has already shown at present that it's ready to start distinguishing between console generations in other games.
EA's release of Madden 22, for example, included Dynamic Gameday features that were included for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S users, but not those on last-gen consoles. In a similar fashion, the studio's upcoming release of Battlefield 2042 will see notable differences between its next-gen and last-gen counterparts. Multiplayer battles in the game are confirmed to support up to 64 players on Xbox One and PS4, while the latest consoles increase that number to 128 players.
EA showed off its first Dragon Age 4 teaser at The Game Awards 2018, followed by a behind-the-scenes look during Gamescom 2020. BioWare then debuted a newer trailer for the game at The Game Awards last year. While many fans hoped that the game would make a further appearance at this year's EA Play, it wasn't to be the case. Metroid Dread Has a Progression-Stopping Bug, Nintendo Promises a Patch
Metroid Dread has a bug that's causing the game to simply shut down – thankfully Nintendo has a workaround, and a patch will arrive by the end of the month.
Announced on Twitter (below), Nintendo apologised for the bug, explained the cause, and how to avoid it. The bug itself sees the game closing down with the message "The software was closed because an error occurred," when a door near the end of the game is destroyed.
A bug has been found in #MetroidDread that can prevent players from progressing under a certain condition. A patch will be released by the end of October to fix this. We apologize for the inconvenience.
— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) October 15, 2021
Learn more, including how to avoid the bug:https://t.co/iy1dDmOcJ7
In a support page, Nintendo explains that the error is caused by destroying the door when a map marker has been attached to it. The solution is simple enough - remove the map marker before you destroy the door and things will progress as expected.
Nintendo's promised that the bug itself will be squashed in a patch coming later this month. It's not clear if that update will include any other changes for the game.
The bug is a less exciting discovery than the secret boss killing method found by determined sequence breakers. Bug or no bug, Metroid Dread is delighting players with its classic 2D exploration – we gave it a 9/10 review, saying that it "brings back the legendary exploration and progression and merges it with excellent modern combat and some of the best boss fights ever."

Marvel’s Secret Invasion Has Begun Filming According to Samuel L. Jackson
Marvel's Secret Invasion is in production, according to a recent post from Samuel L. Jackson.
The Nick Fury actor posted on Instagram, saying, "Time to get back in the groove. Happy to be back on the attack! #secretinvasion".
In the photo included in the post, Jackson is wearing a shirt of Nick Fury turning to dust from the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
Secret Invasion is set to premiere six episodes in 2022. The show was announced in 2020, and will see Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn returning as the Skrull Talos, and Kingsley Ben-Adir playing the main villain. The cast also includes Game of Throne's Emilia Clarke, and The Crown's Olivia Colman. We previously learned that directors Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim joined the Secret Invasion project.
The Secret Invasion comics follow the Skrull, alien shapeshifters that invade Earth and replace some of the Avengers. In the MCU, we've seen the Skrulls play a friendly role in Captain Marvel and other MCU projects, so it remains to be seen what approach this show will take with the characters or storyline.
The MCU's latest show, What If...?, just finished its first season. You can check out what we thought in our What If season 1 review. And, to keep track of all the Marvel projects in the works, you can read up on every upcoming MCU movie and TV show.
Marvel is also keeping the flow of shows to Disney Plus steady as the streamer announced it will have a two-episode premiere for Hawkeye this November.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Treated as the ‘End of a Franchise,” Tom Holland Says
Tom Holland says he's looking at Spider-Man: No Way Home as the "end of a franchise."
The Spider-Man actor spoke with EW, where he said if his run of solo Spider-Man films were to continue, they would look a lot different than the three he's starred in so far.
"I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you'd be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy," Holland said. "We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don't know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it."
The Homecoming trilogy includes Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the upcoming No Way Home. Besides those films, Holland made his debut as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, and he also made appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who play MJ and Peter's best friend Ned, have appeared in all three films of the Homecoming trilogy. Holland said it was an emotional day on set when filming for No Way Home wrapped.
"We've been making these films for five years now," Holland said. "We've had such an amazing relationship, the three of us. We've been with each other every step of the way. We've done every single film, every single press tour. So this one scene, [we didn't know] if this would be the last time [we were all working together.] [It] was heartbreaking but also really exciting because we're all moving into the next chapter of our careers. So sharing that moment with them was maybe the best day I've ever had on set. I don't think I've cried like that ever."
No Way Home is definitely ambitious enough to mark the end of a trilogy. Spider-Man 2's Doc Ock will appear in the movie, and Doctor Strange will also appear alongside Peter Parker. And, there's (spoilery) evidence that suggests another Marvel character could appear in the film. Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to hit theaters on December 17.
No live-action Spider-Man actor has ever gotten more than three solo films. Director Sam Raimi famously planned a Spider-Man 4 starring Tobey Maguire, but Raimi and Sony parted wats before the movie entered production. Andrew Garfield starred in two Spider-Man movies before the franchise rebooted once again with Tom Holland. For more, check out our ranking of every Spider-Man movie.

Deathloop Gets a Major Update That Improves its NPCs
Deathloop's first major update has been released for PlayStation 5 and PC. Jumping into the game, players should notice several improvements including better NPC behavior, added Nvidia DLSS support on PC, and an increase in overall stability when ray tracing is on.
Bethesda announced the details of the update on its website. Arkane's first update for Deathloop weighs in at a reasonable 5GB for PS5 players and 11GB for those on PC. Along with fixing several issues that have been known to cause the game to crash, the developer has also made some other changes sure to please its fans.
Perhaps the most notable of these changes is for Deathloop's NPCs. Arkane says that its first patch of the game has improved NPCs behavior, which should now be more reactive to players within the game. The change comes after some discussions surrounding Deathloop's NPCs have taken place between the game's fanbase on social media.
Some fans argue that Deathloop's NPCs work well for its intended mix of stealth and action gameplay, while others have felt that their decision-making and combat tactics have needed improvement.
For PlayStation 5 players, the update also includes a calibration screen for HDR support and an on-screen poor-connection indicator that will help players to identify when they're having internet issues while playing against rival assassins. PC players will see a similar poor-connection indicator, but more importantly, the update also adds Nvidia DLSS support which should help improve performance for players experiencing framerate issues during sessions.
The PC update also includes support for the Sony DualSense's controller audio and settings for fog quality — and both console and PC players should see improved performance and stability when ray tracing is turned on in the game. Bethesda's post doesn't include a full list of fixes for the game, but instead opts to provide fans with a list of its most noteworthy changes across the two platforms.

Spider-Man: No Way Home: Doc Ock’s Arms Are CGI, Not Practical Effects
One of the coolest touches in Sam Raimi’s 2004 Spider-Man 2 was how Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock used practical puppets to serve as his robotic tentacles. For Molina’s return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he’s traded in the puppets for full CGI effects, which took some getting used to.
Speaking with EW, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland shared his experiences with working with Molina for No Way Home and how “It was really fun to watch him see how technology has advanced,” Holland said.
“When he was making [Spider-Man 2], the arms were puppets, and when we did it, they’re all imaginary and CG. It was quite cool to see him relive it, but also relearn it.”
A lot has already been said about the decline of practical effects in Hollywood. And while the quality of CGI has improved tremendously since 2004, knowing that Molina's Doc Ock arms were real added a certain cool factor for sure.
Beyond just the arms, Molina will also be digitally de-aged for Spider-Man: No Way Home. So it sounds like Molina has gotten quite acquainted with the major advancements in CGI technology for the upcoming Spider-Man sequel.
Molina's return as Doc Ock was one of the biggest surprises of the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer. Or at least it would have been had Molina not openly shared that he was returning in an interview for a different movie, months before the trailer premiered.
But it was practically an open secret anyway and could rank as one of Marvel’s worst-kept secrets to date. And while fans of practical effects may be disappointed to hear that Molina will not be working with puppet arms again, we’re happy to see him back in the role at all.
Still a mystery, however, is whether any of the other Spider-Man actors will appear in the movie, like Molina’s co-star Tobey Maguire. The Amazing Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield, maintains he does not know of any No Way Home appearance.
Funny enough, Molina isn’t the only Spider-Man 2 alumnus to return to Marvel. Director Sam Raimi is set to helm Doctor Strange 2 and has praised Molina’s return for the MCU.

The Batman: Short Teaser Released Ahead of DC FanDome Trailer Reveal
A short teaser for The Batman has been released ahead of this weekend's DC FanDome, which will debut a brand new trailer for Matt Reeves' much-anticipated movie.
The six-second clip posted on Twitter shows the Bat-Signal lighting up a dark, drenched frame and illuminating some words on screen. The text is simultaneously read aloud by Robert Pattinson's Batman. "It's not just a signal; it's a warning," the growling voice says, right before the panel changes to present details for the DC FanDome event.
“It’s not just a signal; it’s a warning.” ❤️ this Tweet for reminders before and when #TheBatman is released. pic.twitter.com/ouos1t3PZ4
— The Batman (@TheBatman) October 14, 2021
The teaser presents the signature red and black colors found in the movie's official logo and previous promos such as The Batman camera test, which featured the new Bat-Suit.
Update: And director Matt Reeves joined in on the fun by posting a photo of Batman overlooking Gotham City.
Good Morning, from Gotham City… Can’t wait to show you more at #DCFanDome this Saturday… #TheBatman #TrailerShot pic.twitter.com/5IRaABRwk6
— Matt Reeves (@mattreevesLA) October 14, 2021
The last official footage we saw of The Batman came by the way of a featurette revealed by Warner Bros. at CinemaCon in August of this year. Those in attendance at the event alluded to clips showing a dark and brooding Gotham that Batman will be tasked to tame, noting that Reeves had spoken more about the Year One aspect of the film's story.
The all-star lineup for DC FanDome 2021 spotlights dozens of notable names from a variety of movies, TV shows, comics, and games. The guest list includes big hitters such as Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz, which means we're likely to hear more news and chatter around The Batman — in addition to getting to see a brand new trailer for the film.
DC FanDome's second-annual virtual event premieres on October 16 at 10 am Pacific / 1 pm Eastern / 6 pm UK (that's October 17 at 3 am AEST).

Marvel’s Hawkeye Will Launch With a Two-Episode Premiere
Hawkeye will make its Disney+ debut on November 24, and we now know that we'll be getting two episodes of the show that day.
Announced by Disney today, the six-episode season will begin with two episodes on November 24, with an episode a week following that. Befitting the show's Christmas theme, that means it will draw to a close on December 22.
Alongside the news, we got a short new look at the series, showing off a little more of the Captain America musical, trick arrows, and LARPing we saw in the show's reveal trailer.
The show is a set in post-Blip New York City, in which Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is aiming to get home in time for Christmas, but is waylaid when "a threat from his past shows up". That leads him to team up with Hawkeye's biggest fan, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to put a stop to their criminal enterprise. Also, along the way, we'll be meeting Lucky the Pizza Dog, which is superb news.
The series actually began life as a movie, but has become a part of the huge upcoming slate of Disney+ series coming out of the MCU. Aside from Renner and Steinfeld, the show stars Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Kate's mother, Tony Dalton as Jack "The Swordsman" Duquesne, Fra Fre's Kazi, Zahn McClarnon's William Lopez, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, aka Echo, a deaf Native American who can perfectly copy another person's movements.

Gaming Forum ResetEra Acquired for $4.5 Million
The popular online gaming forum ResetEra has been acquired by the Swedish media company M.O.B.A Network for a sum of $4.55 million, though assurances have been made that little will change regarding the day-to-day management of the site.
As part of a press release, M.O.B.A Network announced that it had acquired ResetEra for $4.55 million. The gaming forum will add to the Swedish company's already large array of gaming communities, which includes a number of sites such as Dotafire.com and Leaguespy.net.
ResetEra is one of the world's biggest gaming forums, and was set up in 2017 after staff and users of NeoGAF broke away to form their own website, following sexual misconduct allegations against NeoGAF's owner and a subsequent ban on political discussions.
Despite the acquisition taking place, ResetEra owner Cerium has been quick to announce to the site's community that this shouldn't be cause for concern. "Crucially, they have absolutely no desire to change the ResetEra community or its culture in any way," said Cerium in an announcement post. "Their MO is to stay in the background and only handle the business and logistical end of things."
"It'll mainly just be someone else keeping the lights on," the post continues. "There will be no imposed changes to the rules or to the staff. Members will not have to change how they post." With around 55,000 members and over 45 million forum posts to date, it perhaps isn't all that surprising that the Swedish media company is looking to leave the sites day to day management largely as it is.
In terms of revenue, ResetEra makes its money through ad revenue and a subscription format that allows users to visit the forum ad-free. According to its press release, M.O.B.A Network has said that the site made around $700,000 dollars across the last year - a figure that they believe can be improved.
The Swedish media company says that the acquisition of ResetEra presents "serious opportunities to increase advertising revenue through a higher share of direct sales, implementation of new ad formats, and a long-term product development strategy." The network goes on to state that it estimates that the site will be able to grow sales significantly during 2022 while still maintaining its operating profitability.
M.O.B.A Network CEO Björn Mannerqvist spoke further about the company's decision to purchase the online gaming forum. "We are very excited and proud to welcome ResetEra.com - one of the world's largest gaming forum and community brands - to our growing number of brands," said Mannerqvist as part of the press release. "ResetEra.com has great growth potential, and we see significant opportunities to develop ResetEra.com, continue to grow traffic flows, improve the sales development and extract synergies within the M.O.B.A. Group."
M.O.B.A's acquisition of ResetEra marks just one of many to have taken place across the world of gaming recently. Industry heavyweight Sony has acquired a number of studios this year including Bluepoint Games, Firesprite, Nixxes, and Housemarque while Microsoft also announced its own major purchase in the form of ZeniMax Media - the parent company of Fallout and Skyrim publisher, Bethesda.
