Wonder Woman Faces Her Future in ‘Trial of the Amazons’ Crossover – DC FanDome 2021
Diana of Themyscira may have recently saved the DC multiverse in the pages of Dark Nights: Death Metal, but her problems are just beginning. She and her fellow Amazons will become embroiled in one of their biggest battles yet in the upcoming Trial of the Amazons crossover.
DC revealed first details about this upcoming 2022 storyline at FanDome. The story will link together all of DC's Amazonian heroines, including Wonder Woman, Queen Hippolyta, Nubia, Artemis and, of course, Future State: Wonder Woman's Yara Flor. Each of these characters will be faced with what DC describes as "a power struggle that will redefine the future of DC’s Amazons."
The crossover will feature a number of key DC creators, including writers Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, Vita Ayala, Stephanie Williams, Joelle Jones and Jordie Bellaire.
Trial of the Amazons will officially kick off in 2022, though fans can see the early groundwork for this crossover in Nubia & The Amazons #1, which hits stores on October 19.
In other FanDome news, Milestone Media is developing an animated movie and new Season 2 comics. You can also brush up on Black Adam's Rocky History with the JSA before his movie debut.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods: First Footage Shows Villains, Monsters, and More – DC FanDome 2021
Shazam! Fury of the Gods has revealed its first footage, showing off the Shazam family in action, and new villains played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu.
Shown off at DC FanDome 2021, a mixture of behind-the-scenes shots and what seemed to be final footage was shown. We also learned that the movie has now finished shooting, and has been billed as "more of a spectacle" than the first movie.
The story will see the Shazam family balancing normal life with being superheroes, before two goddesses – Hespera and Kalypso – visit the world and cause trouble. The movie will seemingly delve deeped into ancient Greek lore, with minotaurs, harpies and dragons making appearance, while locations include Athens, Philadelphia, the Library of Eternity, and the Realm of the Gods.
Shazam! was one of the lowest-grossing DCEU movies, but one of its biggest critical successes. The sequel will arrive shortly after spin-off Black Adam, with director David F. Sandberg helming a cast of the returning Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, and Jack Dylan Grazer, as well as Helen Mirren as new villain Hespera and Lucy Liu as Kalypso. We'll likely see a lot more of the wider Shazam Family too, who have already shown off new costumes.

Young Justice: Phantoms Unexpectedly Releases Two Episodes – DC FanDome 2021
Young Justice Season 4 – titled Young Justice: Phantoms – unexpectedly began today, with the first two episodes streaming on HBO Max now.
Announced at DC FanDome 2021 alongside a new trailer, Young Justice: Phantoms will release new episodes every Thursday after today.
While we didn't get definitive story details, we saw plenty of hints towards the season's plotlines, with the sidekicks being left to become their own heroes, romances blossoming, and Superboy seemingly going a little over-the-top with the violence at one point.
Phantoms was announced at last year's FanDome, and we've previously taken our own guesses at what the season's subtitle might mean. Season 3, Outsiders, ended on a high note, and we said that its 3-episode finale allowed "the series to tie up a great many loose ends in a relatively short amount of time. Season 3 ends strong, even as it tees up an even bigger and more ambitious Season 4."

Batgirl: New Story Details and Suit Revealed for Live-Action Movie – DC FanDome 2021
Warner Bros. and DC have revealed new story details and a first-look at the Batgirl suit. The announcement was made during the Batgirl panel at DC's FanDome. Check out the concept art for Batgirl's suit in the image below:
In terms of the story, writer Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Bumblebee) describes what we can expect from the story. "What's kind of funny about Barbara [Gordon] and Batgirl is that in this story, she's discovering Batgirl for the first time," Hodson explained. "So she's getting to explore a duality she's always had in her personality, but it's this whole new side of her personality, a side that's more daring and slightly less normal side of her that we just get to have fun and play with."
Directors Adil El Arbit and Bilall Fallah discused their excitement for the upcoming DC film. "We feel very excited and privaleged to be a part of this world," Arbit said. With Fallah adding, "It's really unbelieveable. I feel like a kid again."
