The Batman director Matt Reeves revealed that leading man Robert Pattinson wore Val Kilmer's Batsuit from Batman Forever during an early screen test.

"Rob was litterally wearing Val Kilmer's Batsuit," Reeves explained. "Which, by the way, was a crazy moment." Pattison went on to describe the experience of wearing the iconic suit, which got a bit sweaty.

"It was crazy," Pattinson said. "I remember putting it on and saying, 'this is going to be absolutely impossible.' Wearing a two-inch-thick rubber suit and being incredibly nervous and full of adrenaline the whole time. I remember we did like two takes and we were saying, 'What can we do about this sweat?' And I was like, 'nothing, there's nothing that can be done.' I had to be drained of liquid."

In The Batman, Pattinson will play a younger version of the Caped Crusader who is in Year 2 of his superhero career. "[Batman] doesn't have as much control over his personality. The delineation between when he's Batman and when he's Bruce is not so clear. In other iterations of [Batman's story], he really knows what he's doing when he's putting on the cowl. And I really like the idea of him being a little out of control. He hasn't defined what Batman is. He gets lost in it... He's not sleeping, and he's becoming this odd creature."

Another Batman alum, Christian Bale, also wore Kilmer's Batsuit during his early Dark Knight Trilogy screening tests. The Batman is set to open in theaters on March 4, 2022.

The thirty-second clip is set on a rocky hilltop near a broken castle, with a spectral tree rising in the distance. After rotating the camera to offer a clearer look at the environment, we're treated to the character jumping up to the hill crest, causing a pair of eagles to light into the air in a flurry of feathers.

The footage was allegedly captured on an Xbox One, though its origin remains unconfirmed. Assuming it's legitimate, the new footage gives us a better feel for Elden Ring's movement, particularly in terms of how the main character handles jumping.

Otherwise we still know comparatively little about Elden Ring, though we're just a few months from its release date. In an interview with IGN, director Hidetaka Miyazaki described the open world and the gameplay, but little else has been shown in terms of official footage.

Regardless, Elden Ring remains highly anticipated, not the least because Dark Souls and Bloodborne are some of the finest action games ever made. With Elden Ring Ring due early next year, hopefully we'll get to see more of this open world Soulsborne game very soon.

The HBO Max adaptation of the DC Comics series DMZ received a ton of new details and images at DC FanDome 2021.

DMZ is a four-part limited series that is being led by Selma and When They See Us' Ava DuVernay and Westworld writer Roberto Patino. The Mandalorian's Rosario Dawson is set to star as Alma and DMZ will tell the story of a USA that is in the middle of its second civil war. This war is between the Free States of America and the United States of America and the rule of law is "dictated by the most powerful person at any point at time."

"It's a story about a fractured people that are coming together," Patino said. "We have a civil war between the Free States of America and the United States of America, and our story takes place eight years into that DMZ where the rule of law is basically dictated by the most powerful person at any point in time, and that can change from block to block."

Dawson's Alma, who is an outsider that will turn "everything upside down," is inspired by Z from the graphic novel.

"Alma was inspired by one of the most fascinating characters in the comic book and also one of the most underserved in the comic book named Z, who is this fearless medic," Patino explained. "I really took the creative guard rails off and dove into the spirit of Z and reinvented her. This show is a bit of an origin story for one of the best characters in the graphic novel."

Alma will be joined by Benjamin Bratt's Parco Delgado and Hoon Lee's Wilson, both of whom have different styles of leadership. Delgado is a character who takes power who believes that no one can challenge him on that if he says it "with enough resolve."

Wilson, on the other hand, wants everyone to make "truly free choices in the DMZ," and loves the "patchwork of gangs and tribes and outfits" that come of that.

DMZ is set in Manhattan and is meant to be a piece of media we can see our potential future in if we "let the worst of our divisions get to us."

"That's what DMZ is," DuVernay said. "It is set in a world that's just a few moments into the future, and it speculates what would we be if we let the worst of our divisions get to us. I just think it's super cool. It's also important in ways that allow us to consider ourselves now and what we want to be going forward."

The Batman is set during the Caped Crusader's second year as a crimefighter. It's a Noir mystery-thriller that sees Batman (Pattinson) investigating a series of high-profile murders committed by the Riddler (Paul Dano), aka Edward Nashton. Batman is working alongside his Gotham Police ally James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright).

Batman's investigation sees him cross paths with cat burglar Selina Kyle (Kravitz), aka Catwoman, while also coming to terms with a possible deeper tie to the Riddler's crime spree. The heat between Batman and Catwoman is very much on display in the trailer, especially when they engage in a steamy rooftop exchange.

The Batman cast includes Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham DA Gil Colson. The trailer reveals Serkis' Alfred as having a scar around his eye, while Farrell's "Oz" is seen sporting a Penguin-esque tuxedo at one point.

The trailer also shows more of the Batmobile in action and also reveals the Batsignal.

Riddler is clearly trying to draw Batman into his crusade to expose Gotham's dark secrets, secrets which may tie into the history of the Wayne family itself. At one point, Bruce even scrawled down "The Sins of My Father??". Is this a master plan on the Riddler's part? Does he already know who Batman is but has a larger objective to achieve?

The biggest takeaway from the trailer, though, might be its depiction of Batman/Bruce Wayne. The character's rage is fully on display throughout, to the point where even Catwoman looks unsettled by his violence as he bashes a thug's face.

And even as "regular" Bruce Wayne, Pattinson's Bruce seems edgy and disturbed. It doesn't seem like this Bruce Wayne has devised a "playboy Bruce Wayne" persona yet to hide behind.

Diana of Themyscira may have recently saved the DC multiverse in the pages of Dark Nights: Death Metal, but her problems are just beginning. She and her fellow Amazons will become embroiled in one of their biggest battles yet in the upcoming Trial of the Amazons crossover.

DC revealed first details about this upcoming 2022 storyline at FanDome. The story will link together all of DC's Amazonian heroines, including Wonder Woman, Queen Hippolyta, Nubia, Artemis and, of course, Future State: Wonder Woman's Yara Flor. Each of these characters will be faced with what DC describes as "a power struggle that will redefine the future of DC’s Amazons."

The crossover will feature a number of key DC creators, including writers Becky Cloonan, Michael Conrad, Vita Ayala, Stephanie Williams, Joelle Jones and Jordie Bellaire.

Trial of the Amazons will officially kick off in 2022, though fans can see the early groundwork for this crossover in Nubia & The Amazons #1, which hits stores on October 19.
