Mass Effect Legendary Edition Will Let You Use Original Mako Handling
Mass Effect Legendary Edition players will be able to use the original Mako handling if they really want to.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Legendary Edition Environment Director, Kevin Meek, said the option to use the original handling for Mass Effect 1's vehicle was included "for those people out there who do like pain."
BioWare has implemented a number of changes to the Mako's handling for the remaster, improving turning physics, camera controls and adding thrusters to give the vehicle a speed boost. You can see everything that has been tweaked in our article covering the Legendary Edition changes. Meek told PC Gamer that the Mako experience is "night and day" compared to the 2007 original.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/02/mass-effect-legendary-edition-our-first-impressions"]
However, as our feature from February revealed, some Mass Effect fans are just really keen to keep the Mako the way it was. "You'll never get consensus - whether some people love it or some people hate it," Legendary Edition Project Director Mac Walters told PC Gamer. "We're making a big point of it often in marketing, but it's a lighter touch than I think some people might think. And the optional control scheme is optional, so you can drop back and forth."
So whether you're a Mako apologist or not, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will let you choose the control scheme that suits your level of nostalgia when it launches on May 14 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Here's what comes in every edition of the game if you're still weighing up your purchase.

YouTube TV Arrives On PS5
YouTube TV, which lets users watch live television without cables, has arrived on PS5.
As reported by AndroidPolice, the app was recently found in the "Streaming media players, smart TVs & game consoles" section of the YouTube TV Supported Devices webpage. The app is also available on PS4 if you haven't managed to pick up a PS5 just yet. While it has taken some time to get YouTube TV on PS5, the app has been available on the Xbox Series X and S from launch, as well as Microsoft's last-gen consoles.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/27/ps5-console-unboxing"]
The service costs $64.99 a month and offers "unlimited cloud DVR storage," with 3 separate streams available in one household. At present, it's only available in the US, and features channels like CBS, NBC, AMC and Comedy Central.
The news arrives as Google and Roku butt heads over the app, with Google removing YouTube TV from Roku devices at the end of last month after Roku alleged anticompetitive behaviour from Google. This means the cross-section of YouTube TV subscribers on Roku devices who also own a PS5 can still use the service instead of being locked out.
PlayStation 5 stock is still limited due to high demand, the impact of the global pandemic and the ongoing semiconductor shortage. In spite of all that, the next-gen console has still outsold the PS4 in its first fiscal year on sale.

Resident Evil Village DLC Reveals a Fan Favourite Character Was Cut
This story contains information about a character that is not in Resident Evil Village. While not a spoiler, some may want to play the game without this knowledge.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Resident Evil Village’s Trauma Pack DLC, which comes packaged with the Collector’s, Deluxe, and Complete versions of the game, has some behind the scenes artwork that reveals a fan favourite character was originally planned to be part of Village but was ultimately cut.
In ‘The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork’, a artwork gallery that is provided as part of the Trauma Pack DLC, there is a set of artwork showing concept designs for Ada Wong. Rather than her classic red dress, Ada is wearing a gothic plague doctor-inspired outfit that looks closer to a Bloodborne hunter than anything in Resident Evil.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=resident-evil-village-ada-wong-concept-art&captions=true"]
“Early plans had a mysterious masked person that saves Ethan,” explains the concept art’s caption. “This was going to be Ada Wong investigating the village, but this was cut due to a number of conflicting scenarios.”
A further piece of art shows a storyboard that depicts the masked Ada bursting into a courtroom and rescuing player character Ethan Winters from his captors. “An early plot point was to have Ada, disguising herself with a mask, help Ethan escape from his trial,” explains the caption.
With multiple villains operating underneath Village’s big bad, it’s understandable that Ada was considered a plot thread too much for an already beefy Resident Evil game. However, it’s hard not to feel a little sad considering the fantastic design for Ada’s new appearance. Hopefully gothic Ada isn’t lost forever, because it’s not like Resident Evil is going away anytime soon.

Kingsman Creator Sets Up New Spy Series, Other Originals at Netflix
As Netflix continues to bulk up its library with big properties, the company has turned to Kingsman creator Mark Millar to help create splashy titles for its catalog. Millar and his wife, Lucy, sold their comic company Millarworld to Netflix in 2017, the first acquisition the streamer made. Now, Millar has offered an update on the various projects in development between the two companies.
Firstly, Millar announced that a television adaptation of his comic series The Magic Order is back in development after the COVID-19 pandemic stalled production last year. The project was originally announced in March 2019, with James Wan and Lindsey Beer attached as executive producers.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2015/01/21/mark-millar-on-kingsmans-most-shocking-scene"]
Additionally, Millar announced that two new volumes of The Magic Order comic series would be published soon. Volume 2 will be written by Stuart Immonen and will launch in October, with Gigi Cavenago's Volume 3 following after. The Magic Order became the first Netflix-published comic series after the company acquired Millarworld.
"Some time away has given us a chance to come back with a completely fresh look at the material, and we should be getting into our new writers’ room very shortly," Millar wrote. "I created it to be a live-action series, but as comic fans know, I’m also passionate about doing books."
Meanwhile, the Kingsman creator is setting a return to the spy genre with a new property that will take the form of a six-episode live-action television series. Millar is keeping details about the writer on the series under wraps, though he hints that he has been a "massive fan of [them] for two decades."
Additionally, Millar affirmed that development for Netflix's American Jesus series, its film adaptation of Reborn starring Sandra Bullock, and an anime adaptation of Super Crooks are all continuing smoothly. Super Crooks has set a premiere window for later this year.
In the meantime, Jupiter's Legacy is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday, May 7. The adaptation of Millar's comic series of the same name is the first onscreen project to be made under Millarworld and Netflix's partnership.

Andrew Garfield on Spider-Man: No Way Home Return: ‘Never Say Never’
Since outlets reported that Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx's Electro would be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, rumors have swirled about the potential return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's incarnations of Peter Parker.
After offering a somewhat tentative response to the rumors earlier this week, Garfield has now voiced his excitement for the idea of reprising his role as the web-slinger in a discussion with Access Hollywood.
"I've heard all the rumors of everything and, to be frank, I think it's a really cool idea," Garfield said. "As a fan, just as a pure fan, it's a really cool idea. But as I've said previously... I hate being given the responsibility of disappointing people. But yeah, no. It's not something that I've been asked about or anything like that. But, you know, never say never."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/25/spider-man-no-way-home-what-the-title-reveals-about-the-mcu-sequel"]
Garfield's last comments on the casting rumors were a bit more concrete. In a discussion with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Garfield said that Marvel Studios did not reach out to him, telling fans "I recommend that you chill."
"I did not get a call. Listen, I would've gotten a call by now," Garfield said. "I don't want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me. Maybe they're going to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this.'"
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=%20the-cast-of-spider-man-now-way-home&captions=true"]
While Tom Holland has outright denied that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be appearing in the film, the MCU's Peter Parker has said his third stand-alone Spider-Man film will be "the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made."

Sci-Fi Thriller Infinite, Starring Mark Wahlberg, Headed For Paramount Plus
Infinite, a sci-fi thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Antoine Fuqua, is set to debut exclusively on Paramount Plus in the US.
As reported by Variety, ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish announced the news on the company's quarterly earning call, saying that this film is a big-budget offering for Paramount Plus that will skip theaters all together, just as Disney+'s Soul did.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2013/08/13/mark-wahlberg-takes-the-mark-wahlberg-quiz"]
Wahlberg will play Evan McCauley in Infinite, a man who "is haunted by the fact that he demonstrates skills he has never learned and has memories of places he has never visited."
After meeting a secret group known as the Infinites, he learns that his memories are real and that they are coming from multiple past lives. Joining Wahlberg will be Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Toby Jones and Dylan O’Brien.
IGN exclusively revealed Infinite's synopsis and logo last year - when it was scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 7, 2020 - and described a first-of-its-kind SXSW activation known as the ISM Hexadome Experience. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a cancellation of both SXSW and this event.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/11/08/mark-wahlberg-and-will-ferrell-interview-each-other-daddys-home-2"]
Infinite is based on the novel The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Marikranz and looks to explore the idea of reincarnation and the implications of being reborn throughout generations while keeping all your memories.

A Massive Chinese Rocket Will Soon Be Making An Uncontrolled Plummet Back to Earth
A massive piece of a Chinese rocket is in an uncontrollable orbit that will eventually see it plummet down to Earth and it could theoretically land anywhere on the planet.
Despite how scary that might sound, and to an extent it is, scientists say there's no real need for concern. According to a TIME report on the matter, there are a couple of reasons for that, the biggest being that over 70% of the Earth's surface is water.
The second major factor is that scientists from all over the world, including the U.S. military, are working to solve this dilemma. Plus, a lot of the rocket will literally burn up before ever touching down on the Earth's surface.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/27/spacex-preparing-for-companys-first-manned-flight-to-iss"]
According to Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics astronomer Jonathan McDowell, who spoke to TIME about this event, "what typically survives... are small components made of metals that can tolerate the extreme heat of reentry and larger ones that melt at lower temperatures, but may partly make it through due to their size."
If that's not enough to calm your nerves, TIME reports that Space Command is tracking 27,000 human-made objects, like this Chinese rocket, in space at any given time with the majority of those 27,000 objects in low-Earth orbit. Basically, you can rest your head at night without needing to worry too much that a rocket will come falling through your roof.
How did all of this come about, though? According to TIME, China launched its Long March 5B rocket on April 28 with the job of bringing a 22-ton, 16.6-meter core module of the country's new Tianhe space station into orbit. Typically, the first stage rocket used to launch something like this into space and orbit is not flown high enough or fast enough to actually enter orbit.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=gorgeous-photos-of-earth-from-space&captions=true"]
This allows the rocket to fall back down to Earth – almost always over water, like the Pacific Ocean in China's case – safely and predictably. But the Long March 5B first stage rocket did go into orbit and an unsustainable orbit at that.
That unsustainable orbit means the rocket piece will continue to go around the Earth, falling more and more as it does. This means where it might land will remain a mystery until it's much closer to the surface of the planet. TIME reports that U.S. Space Command is aware of and tracking the whereabouts of this rocket and that while its expected reentry point is unknown, it's expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere on May 8.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/22/nasa-spacecraft-lands-on-an-asteroid"]
"The rocket stage's orbital inclination – its angle relative to the equator – is 41.5 [degrees], carrying it as far north as Chicago, Rome, and Beijing and as far south as New Zealand and Tasmania," according to TIME's report.
According to McDowell in TIME's writeup, because of the rocket's orbital speed – 28,000 kilometers per hour or 17,500 miles per hour – miscalculating its entry by even half an hour can make a difference of 10,000 km in landing distance.
Again, to reiterate, despite the unknowns surrounding this, scientists and the U.S. military (and probably many other officials) say there isn't a huge cause for concern due to how much of the Earth is ocean and how much of this rocket will burn up in the planet's atmosphere.
