Black Widow: 6 New Character Posters Revealed
Marvel released six new character posters for Black Widow with the best look yet of the main cast. There's a poster for the villain Taskmaster, as well as Natasha's found "family" played by Florence Pugh, Rachel Wisz, and David Harbour. You can check out the new posters below.

Black Widow is set in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Johansson's Natasha Romanoff travels back to Russia to tie up some loose ends and on the way reunites with her adopted family including her "sister" Yelena Belova (Pugh), "father" a Russian super-soldier called the Red Guardian (Harbour), and "mother," spy, and previous Black Widow, Melina Vostokoff (Weisz).
Disney delayed Black Widow multiple times because of the ongoing pandemic, but the studio has finally settled on a July release date. Black Widow will also be released on Disney Plus Premier Access, meaning Disney Plus subscribers can pay an additional $30 to watch Black Widow at home the same day it premieres in theatres.
This was a major change as Disney's CEO insisted earlier this year that Black Widow would remain a theatres-only release. However, as the pandemic continues despite vaccine rollout, Disney changed course and will finally release Black Widow a year after it was originally supposed to be released in May 2020.

Black Widow will be the first MCU movie in Phase 4 and will be followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in September, and Eternals in November.

Tom Cruise Says Mission: Impossible 7 Stunt Was the Most Dangerous Thing He’s Ever Done
Tom Cruise is no stranger to doing his own crazy, dangerous stunts while filming his movies, but the action star may have just raised the stakes.
Speaking with Empire, Cruise detailed what went through his mind when filming a freefall while riding a motorcycle for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 7.
“If the wind was too strong, it would blow me off the ramp,” Cruise said. “The helicopter [filming the stunt] was a problem, because I didn’t want to be hammering down that ramp at top speed and get hit by a stone. Or if I departed in a weird way, we didn’t know what was going to happen with the bike. I had about six seconds once I departed the ramp to pull the chute and I don’t want to get tangled in the bike. If I do, that’s not going to end well.”
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/07/13/mission-impossible-in-7-minutes-2018-update"]
During filming for the last entry in the series, 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout, production paused after Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt. Cruise reportedly suffered the injury after failing to leap across a building gap.
After production delays due to COVID-19, Paramount recently delayed the release of MI7 from November 19 of this year to May 27, 2022. For movie fans still wanting their Tom Cruise fix on November 19, that's the new release date for Top Gun: Maverick. We've also learned Mission Impossible 7 will head to Paramount+ after 45 days in theaters.
Cruise is taking COVID-19 very seriously on set, reportedly buying robots to enforce COVID safety on the set. The robots can apparently administer instant COVID tests. This news came after footage surfaced of Cruise admonishing crew members on the MI7 set for allegedly breaking the COVID-19 safety protocols that were in place.

Battlefield 6 Is Teasing a Potential June Reveal
The next Battlefield game could potentially be revealed in June according to a cheeky tweet from the game's official Twitter account.
A new Battlefield game is finally coming later this year after the series took a brief hiatus from annual releases. While Battlefield games are typically released in the fall, a reveal next month could be in the cards.
"Words that rhyme with Soon: June Boom," the Battlefield Twitter account posted. A likely indication that whatever the folks at EA DICE are working on, we could see it next month.
In 2019 EA announced that it wouldn't release a Battlefield game in 2020, breaking the annual cycle for the series. While EA didn't offer a reason, Battlefield 5 wasn't the best-received game in the franchise, and it was understood that developer DICE was going back to the drawing board for the next Battlefield game. More information on the new Battlefield game began coming out earlier this year, however. First, EA revealed that the next Battlefield game would take full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X systems. Then, during the announcement of a Battlefield mobile game, DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson said it has the biggest team in series history working on Battlefield 6, and that a reveal will happen "soon." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-battlefield-review&captions=true"] There have been a few leaked screenshots since Gabrielson's announcement, so perhaps EA is thinking it should officially reveal the next Battlefield game sooner rather than later. Venom 2 (Apparently) Has an Avengers Easter Egg
While Venom: Let There Be Carnage may not take place in the MCU, its first trailer features an Easter egg that appears to reference The Avengers.
Around one minute and nine seconds into the trailer, we see Detective Mulligan (Stephen Graham) reading The Daily Bugle, which we know is run by Spider-Man's J. Jonah Jameson. As Mulligan angrily closes the paper, you can see the briefest glimpse of a headline that reads something like "Avengers Lose to Nightmare."
This is interesting for many reasons, beyond the exciting (apparent) mention of The Avengers. Not only has Nightmare been rumored as a possible player in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but Doctor Strange himself has been confirmed to be making his way into Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Venom 2's trailer is packed with many more Easter eggs, including an homage to Stan Lee, other nods to Spider-Man, a possible tease of Toxin, and much more. Check out all the Easter Eggs we found right here:

Alongside our exclusive Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer breakdown with director Andy Serkis, be sure to check out our explainer on who Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady is, how Kasady's new look reflects the character's "darkness," and what Carnage's new powers are.
Sony also treated us to Venom: Let There Be Carnage's first poster, which features a view of Venom wrapped in red tendrils - all from the view within Carnage's mouth.

Penultiman Preview: What If Superman Was Horribly Depressed?
We've seen plenty of superhero stories that ask the question, "What if Superman was evil?" But Penultiman takes a new approach to deconstructing the Man of Steel. What if Superman was just really depressed?
With the Penultiman trade paperback set to arrive in stores on May 12, IGN has an exclusive preview of this quirky superhero series. Check out the slideshow gallery below to read the entirety of Penultiman #1:
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=penultiman-preview-read-the-entire-first-issue&captions=true"]
Penultiman is written by Tom Peyer (The Wrong Earth) and drawn by Alan Robinson (Planet of the Nerds). The titular hero is a prehistoric human dragged from the year 90,019 BCE to the present. Even though he seems to have it all - incredible powers, good looks and the admiration of the entire planet, Penultiman is deeply depressed. It's not easy being "The Next-To-Last-Stage In Human Evolution." The series follows Penultiman's quest to find happiness, with a little help from his helpful robot sidekick Antepenultiman.
“We’ve seen characters who represent the ultimate stage of human potential, but I don’t think we’ve met any who are just a little worse than the best,” said Peyer in a press release. “Imagine the anxiety of being so advanced—only to be outclassed. That’s PENULTIMAN.”
Penultiman will be released in comic shops on Wednesday, May 12 and bookstores on Tuesday, May 25. You can preorder the book on Amazon now.
IGN also recently previewed another goofy superhero series written by Peyer. The Wrong Earth: Night & Day shows us what might happen if the Batman of the Dark Knight Returns ever crossed paths with Adam West's Batman.

Dontnod CEO Says Life is Strange Is ‘Not Our Strategy’ For Now
Though Dontnod's seen success with games like Tell Me Why and Vampyr, it's still primarily associated with Life Is Strange. In addition to pioneering the series with the original Life Is Strange (which was widely praised by critics and sold over three million copies) Dontnod is also responsible for Life Is Strange 2 and The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. But according to CEO Oskar Guilbert, Dontnod is now ready to move on.
"Never say never," Guilbert said. "But for the moment it's not our strategy, yeah. We want to create our own IPs. That's what we want to do."
Despite its association with Life Is Strange, Dontnod doesn't own the intellectual property. Square Enix does. And Square Enix recently announced that Life is Strange: True Colors will be developed by Deck Nine, which also worked on Life Is Strange: Before the Storm.
That on its own doesn't prevent Dontnod from ever returning to Life Is Strange, but, at least for now, more Life Is Strange isn't in the studio's plans.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/12/03/life-is-strange-2-the-complete-season-trailer"]
Head of publishing Xavier Spinat added immediately after, "But we are looking at what's happening, of course. Because our fans are looking at it, and so we are looking at it."
Guilbert elaborated further on the importance of Dontnod owning its own games, tying it into other topics we addressed during the interview like the studio's long-term stability. He also talked about Dontnod’s determination to remain independent and not have its portfolio influenced by outside editorial decisions.
"We think that this is something really important for the company, for the ownership of the teams, and for the future of Dontnod," he said. "This is our value for the next [few] years. So we decided to now develop IP [that is] fully or at least partially owned [by Dontnod]. So this is really our strategy.
"We continue to work with Focus Home Interactive. We work with them on Vampyr. We continue to work with them on Project 8 [Dontnod's internal name for one of its upcoming games]. So yes, we are seen as the Life is Strange studio, but I hope that in the future we'll be seen like-- we cannot reveal the titles for our next game, but let's say Project 9, Project 10, Project 11. Or Dontnod Project 1."
Earlier this year, Dontnod announced it was working on a new franchise in partnership with Tencent after Tencent bought a minority stake in the company. In total, the studio has seven projects in the works — six internally, and one it is publishing for independent developer PortaPlay.
