Game Boy-style Platformer Save Me Mr Tako Returns to Storefronts

Save Me Mr Tako, a Game Boy-style platformer about a helpful octopus, is returning to storefronts in May after its delisting following the developer's separation from publisher Nicalis. In a Patreon post, developer Christophe Galati announced that Save Me Mr Tako would be getting a definitive edition digitally on Steam and Nintendo Switch on May 5, 2021. Galati will self-publish his game on PC via Steam, while Limited Run Games handles the console edition. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/10/08/save-me-mr-tako-release-date-trailer"] Save Me Mr Tako is a tribute to the Game Boy era, and features a pacifist octopus named Tako with the ability to thrive on land as well as in the water, who travels the world and mediates conflict between humans and octopuses. Its new Definitive Edition includes a number of updates, including numerous quality of life, technical, and balance changes, as well as a hint system, three difficulty modes, a jukebox, new border images, and a new English localization. Save Me Mr Tako was originally launched in October of 2018, but was delisted from all digital storefronts two years later after Galati parted ways with original publisher Nicalis. At the time, no specific reason was given for their separation. However, Galati had previously alluded to issues with releasing game patches through Nicalis, indicating that Nicalis was entirely in control of whether or not issues with the game got fixed. Nicalis president Tyrone Rodriguez replied on Twitter at the time that Save Me Mr Tako "did not yet make back what we put into it" and couldn't justify the resources to QA the patch. A Kotaku report from around that same time indicated that Galati was not the only indie developer with this or similar issues. Black Panther 2: Boseman ‘Wouldn’t Have Wanted Us to Stop,’ Director Says

Black Panther 2 director Ryan Coogler recently spoke about the late Chadwick Boseman, and shared that he knows his friend and collaborator "wouldn't have wanted us to stop." In an interview with THR, Coogler began by revealing that he didn't know much of the battle Boseman was going through with colon cancer, a fight that took his life way too early at the age of 43. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/08/12/the-mcus-infinity-saga-ranked"] "I didn't know what was going on," Coogler says. "I knew what he wanted me to know. I miss him in every way that you could miss somebody, as a friend, as a collaborator. And it sucks because I love watching movies, and I don't get to watch the next thing he would have made. So it's grief on a lot of levels, but then, it's a deep sense of gratitude because I can close my eyes and hear his voice." Coogler was in the middle of writing the sequel to Black Panther when Boseman passed, and he discussed how, although it was difficult to continue working on the film without its star and his friend, he knows "Chad wouldn't have wanted us to stop." "You've got to keep going when you lose loved ones. I know Chad wouldn't have wanted us to stop. He was somebody who was so about the collective. Black Panther, that was his movie. He was hired to play that role before anybody else was even thought of, before I was hired, before any of the actresses were hired. On that set, he was all about everybody else. Even though he was going through what he was going through, he was checking in on them, making sure they were good. If we cut his coverage, he would stick around and read lines off camera [to help other actors with their performances]. So it would be harder for me to stop. Truthfully. I'd feel him yelling at me, like, 'What are you doing?' So you keep going." Coogler explained. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvel-cinematic-universe-every-upcoming-movie-and-tv-show&captions=true"] Black Panther is scheduled to begin filming in July 2021, and Marvel Studios has already confirmed that it will not be recasting Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa. Beyond Black Panther 2, Coogler is also working on expanding its world with the upcoming Disney+ series based on the Kingdom of Wakanda. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Borderlands Movie Plot Details Revealed

The Borderlands movie has added Edgar Ramirez to its growing cast who will play a character named Atlas. In the video game series, Atlas is the name of one of the major corporations and gun manufacturers. Furthermore, Lionsgate revealed the official plot for the upcoming movie. According to the official press release, Ramirez will play "business titan and arms manufacturer" Atlas, so presumably the company's founder. The release says at the time of the movie Atlas is "the most powerful person in the universe." According to Lionsgate here's the official synopsis for the movie:
Two-time Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett teams up with Kevin Hart in director Eli Roth’s Borderlands. Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas (Ramirez). Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team – Roland (Hart), a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap (Black), a persistently wiseass robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other. Based on the game from Gearbox and 2K, one of the bestselling videogame franchises of all time, welcome to Borderlands.
The plot seems to be diverging from the games in places as Atlas was never seen in the games properly. During the events of Borderlands 2 Atlas is in the control of Hyperion and its CEO Handsome Jack, and in Borderlands 3 Atlas changes hands over to Rhys, one of the protagonists from Tales From the Borderlands. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=live-action-versions-of-video-game-characters&captions=true"] The Atlas Corporation featured prominently in Borderlands 3, and its headquarters on the planet Promethea was a key location in the game. So there could be some overlap between the movie and the most recent Borderlands game there. The cast for the Borderlands movie, directed by Eli Roth, includes Blanchett as Lilith, Hart as Roland, Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis, Jack Black as the voice of Claptrap, and more. The screenplay is being written by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin, who is also working on HBO's live-action adaptation of The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal as Joel. Sebastian Stan Says Fans Try to ‘Activate’ the Winter Soldier in Public

Imagine you’re Sebastian Stan, star of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. You’re getting your coffee order one morning when suddenly a stranger starts spouting the supposed code words that make your character Buckey Barnes, a formerly brainwashed assassin, turn into a murder machine.

Such interactions happen “quite often,” Stan confirmed to BBC Radio 1.

“It happens at coffee shops,” Stan said. “It happens a lot. And it's always very funny. It's an honorable thing I guess. You're very taken with it all the time. You do have to sometimes look at people in the face and say, 'No, I will not become the Winter Soldier when you say that. You can keep saying it, and maybe you should say it, maybe that's a moment we both need to have together, now, here. But nothing crazy will happen.'”

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/03/falcon-and-winter-soldier-episode-3-this-mcu-character-reveal-changes-everything-canon-fodder"]

Fans first got a look at those mysterious code words, which the nefarious Hydra used to continually brainwash Buckey, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They were then later used by Helmut Zemo, a former Sokovian colonel, to reactivate Buckey’s Winter Soldier persona in Captain America: Civil War.

If you were wondering what the code words were in case you happened to stumble into Stan at your local coffee joint: “Longing, rusted, seventeen, daybreak, furnace, nine, benign, homecoming, one, freight car.”

Good luck trying to say it in Russian, though. Even that took Zemo some practice. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/02/the-falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-episode-3-review"]

If you’ve missed Zemo and his adversarial relationship to the Winter Soldier, you can check out IGN’s review of The Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 3. We’ve also got a lot of theories about the questions that episode 3 raises.

Marvel’s Avengers, Borderlands 3, and The Long Dark Join PlayStation Now

Update 2 (4/5/21) - Sony has additionally confirmed that both Marvel's Avengers and Borderlands 3 will be released on PS Now in their PS4 versions. Update (4/5/21) - Square Enix has confirmed that this will indeed be Marvel's Avengers for PS4. However, subscribers will be able to transfer their save to the PS5 version if they choose to buy it. Original story follows. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Sony has announced that Marvel's Avengers, Borderlands 3, and The Long Dark will all be arriving on PlayStation Now on April 6, 2021. Announced on PlayStation.Blog, these three games will all be available tomorrow, and Marvel's Avengers will stay on the service until July 5, 2021, while Borderlands 3 will stay on until September 29, 2021. No removal date was given for The Long Dark. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/03/18/marvels-avengers-black-panther-reveal-trailer"] To help celebrate the arrival of these games, Sony is offering a seven-day free trial for PS4 and PS5 owners beginning on Wednesday, April 7, and it will be available to anyone who is currently not subscribed to PlayStation Now. According to PlayStation, even though PS Now is available on PS5, the service still only gives subscribers access to PS4, PS3, and PS2 games. This would make us believe that, despite Marvel's Avengers and Borderlands 3 having PS5 versions, the versions coming to PS Now will only be the PS4 versions. IGN has reached out to Sony for clarification. PS Now has over 800 PS4, PS3, and PS2 titles available to stream, and over 300 PS4 games that are also available to download, in "up to 4K resolution if you're playing on PS4 Pro." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/09/borderlands-3-season-pass-2-official-trailer"] While fans wishing to try Marvel's Avengers will get to experience some of the updates arriving in the game's 2021 Content Roadmap, the game will be most likely leaving the service before the War for Wakanda Expansion that will be adding Black Panther to the game later in 2021. Hitman Dev’s James Bond Game Is an Original Story Drawing From the Franchise’s Entire History

IGN's Ryan McCaffrey sat down with IO Interactive CEO and co-owner Hakan Abrak to discuss the studio's history in the latest episode of IGN Unfiltered (watch the full interview tomorrow), along with the team's upcoming James Bond game, Hitman 3, separating from Square Enix, and much more. Abrak confirmed that IO won't be using the likeness of any actor who has portrayed 007 in the past, but that's not the only place IO is differentiating itself from what Bond has done before. The team will also be creating a completely new story for their original Bond. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/19/io-interactive-bond-game-project-007-teaser-trailer"] When asked if IO would be taking inspiration from the Bond films or books, Abrak said, "It's important to mention: doing a licensed game is new to us. We've only done our own, original IPs (intellectual property), right? We've created these characters... ourselves, from scratch. "So, I think for us to really embrace this fully, and really, as I said before, we don't like to work 'mechanical.' It's not just because it's a big IP, or it's a licensed game, and commercially this is interesting... It means nothing to us. We've taken a lot of non-commercial risks before. So, for us, it's about... we need to feel it, deep inside. The passion needs to be there, so it was very important for us that it wasn't a movie adaptation. So, it wasn't a game about... a specific movie, where the story has already been told." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/20/why-a-james-bond-007-game-from-the-hitman-team-has-major-potential"] He continued: "It's very important that we could create a digital Bond. A Bond for the gaming industry... So it's a completely original story. This felt really, really important for us and we conveyed that to [James Bond owner] EON and they agreed that the result would probably be better doing it like that. "There's always excitement around a new Bond. It's amazing, what they have done with the franchise over the years. Every Bond kind of defines a generation and it's amazing how they kept reinventing themselves over so many years. So, we're not only inspired by one movie, or games and whatnot. We're inspired by the whole thing, and just sucking things into us to make an original Bond, an original story, but that is absolutely true and recognizable in the values there is in Bond. I'm really looking forward to creating a new community that the gamers can call their own." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/02/hitman-3-reviews-is-this-the-best-hitman-ever-the-review-crew"]
