Mads Mikkelsen to Co-Star in Indiana Jones 5

Mads Mikkelsen is joining the cast of the next Indiana Jones movie, Deadline reports.

Mikkelsen, known for his starring roles in Hannibal, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, and the recently teased Riders of Justice, will co-star alongside Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Plot and character details are slim to none thus far, however, so it’s unclear what kind of role Mikkelsen will play.

Disney has previously confirmed that Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for a July 29 2022 release. Steven Spielberg had previously been eyed to return as director, but eventually declined thanks to disagreements on the script. Instead, James Mangold (director on Logan, Walk the Line, and Ford v Ferrari) has been brought on to direct, while Spielberg will serve as a producer. Composer John Williams, who scored all the previous Indiana Jones films, will return again as composer. Production is scheduled to start sometime this summer.

In late 2020, Warner Bros. announced that Mikkelsen is replacing Johnny Depp as Grindlewald in the Fantastic Beasts films, following Depp’s resignation. Mikkelsen’s most recent film, Riders of Justice, sees the actor play a recently deployed soldier who must return home after his wife tragically dies in what appears to be a train accident, but proves to be connected to a deeper murder plot.

In the world of video games, Bethesda also teased a new Indiana Jones game that’s being developed by Wolfenstein: New Order’s Machinegames, featuring an original narrative separate from Indy’s previously seen adventures. Jacob Tremblay to Star Alongside Peter Dinklage in Toxic Avenger Reboot

Jacob Tremblay has been cast opposite Peter Dinklage in Legendary's upcoming reboot of The Toxic Avenger. Deadline reports that Tremblay is the latest star to be attached to the reboot of the 1984 low-budget splatter film, which will be directed by Macon Blair. There's no word yet on who Tremblay will be playing in The Toxic Avenger reboot, but he's believed to be in good company as it was reported last year that Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage had boarded the project. Legendary's upcoming Toxic Avenger movie is described as a "contemporary reimagining" of the 1984 cult classic, which was directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, who are both on board to produce the reboot. The original movie followed a mild-mannered janitor called Melvin Ferd who gets submerged in a vat of toxic waste and emerges as a disfigured but incredibly strong superhuman. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/04/22/igns-top-25-cheesy-action-movies"] The 1984 movie was released by Troma Entertainment, Kaufman and Herz's film company that became known for producing low-budget B-movies with campy concepts and gory violence, and while The Toxic Avenger played into the studio's signature style by parodying the superhero genre, it also dealt with environmental themes and societal issues. While it was unsuccessful at launch, The Toxic Avenger went on to become a cult classic and ended up kick-starting its own franchise, which included the movie sequels The Toxic Avenger Part II, The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie, and Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV. It also spawned an animated TV show, a video game, and a stage musical production. Tremblay joins the reboot after rising to fame with his starring role as Jack Newsome in 2015's Room, opposite Brie Larson. He has also starred in Wonder, Good Boys, and had a small role in Stephen King's The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep. He'll also be the voice of the titular character in Pixar's Luca, coming to Disney+ on June 18, and the voice of Flounder in Disney's live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Outriders: Inventory Wipe Glitch Items Will Be Restored With ‘God Roll’ Stats

Update 04/21/2021: People Can Fly has announced that players who lost their items due to the game's now-patched inventory wipe glitch will get a pretty nice reward to make up for the inconvenience. On Reddit, a spokesperson explained that items previously wiped will be returned with "the same attribute combinations but with God Roll values. This means that these items will be at least the same if not better quality than the originally lost items." On top of that, those items will be returned at your character's highest possible equip level, and takes your World Tier and Challenge Tier into consideration, meaning you won't be given back a weapon that's immediately out-of-date for your progress. For those who lost items and whose characters were made unplayable in the process, all lost legendaries, all lost equipped items, and 20 other items (ordered by rarity) will be restored. Completed Accolades will also be restored. There's currently no date on when the restoration will take place, but the developer says "we are working to an 'ASAP' schedule and fully understand how disappointing it is to not yet have your items back today." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/outriders-review"] [poilib element="accentDivider"] Outriders has released an inventory wipe prevention patch on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and also confirmed that the item restoration process is still a top priority and will be the full focus when this patch proves to be successful. Announced by Square Enix, this new patch should prevent any future players from having their inventory wiped, and Square will be monitoring the situation over the weekend to ensure the patch actually works before fully focusing on the restoration process. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/outriders-crafting-guide-and-how-to-farm-titanium"] When you install the patch, there may be multiplayer connectivity issues followed by inventory items being momentarily invisible. This is all part of the "three-step inventory safeguarding measures" and can be resolved by waiting a few moments and restarting your game. This issue will be addressed in a future patch. If you still find yourself with your inventory wiped after installing this patch, be sure to report the problem to Outriders' Edge Case sub-thread. Once this patch has proved to be effective in the wild, Outriders will share the timeline for the upcoming Inventory Restoration process. This restoration process will be run "via our server database and does not require a patch to be implemented." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/outriders-playstation-vs-xbox-vs-pc-performance-review"] This bug is another example of Outriders' rocky launch, but also an example of Square Enix and People Can Fly's transparency, excellent communication, and prompt fixes to the issues that arise. For more on Outriders, check out our review-in-progress, the "Appreciation Package" you may be entitled to as a make up for these server issues, and the best tips to excel in the game. Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 Conference Announced

Ubisoft has announced Ubisoft Forward, its summer digital conference that is part of E3 2021. The digital conference will take place on Saturday June 12, starting at 12pm PT. Currently, no other details have been provided. Naturally, all the biggest surprises will be held back until the show itself. Across two Ubisoft Forward events last year, we had detailed looks at Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion, and later got to see more of Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Currently, much of Ubisoft's plans are under wraps, but we do know Far Cry 6 is in the works, and Rainbow Six Quarantine. Or Parasite. Or whatever it ends up being called. Perhaps we'll also get a look at brand new games, and maybe even updates on games like Skull and Bones and Beyond Good and Evil 2? [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/13/ubisoft-forward-in-4-minutes"] For everything E3, be sure to keep an eye on IGN's Summer of Gaming. F1 2021 Announced, Features New Story Mode

Codemasters and EA have announced F1 2021, along with a release date of July 16. F1 2021 will feature the teams, drivers, and circuits of the official 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship, as well as a new story mode, expanded Career mode with support for two players, and three extra circuits to come in free post-launch DLC. The new story mode is called Braking Point (get it?) and takes players on an "epic journey" as they rise through the ranks from Formula 2 to Formula 1. As well as the races, the mode offers a look at the "glamourous world of F1", including the rivalries both on and off the track. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/15/f1-2021-announce-trailer"] Career Mode returns with a two-player option that allows friends to join together online either cooperatively or competitively, working on the same or rival racing teams as part of synchronous race sessions. Each player has complete control over their own driving assists, allowing for novice and experienced players to work together. The mode also sees the return of Real-Season Start, allowing players to begin at any point during the F1 season with real-time driver and constructor standings. Other returning features include driver-manager mode My Team, two-player split-screen, shorter season options, esports integration, and accessible menus and handling. These elements are available on all platforms - PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. On the newer consoles, better visuals and loading times will be available. A free upgrade/Smart Delivery option is available for those who upgrade their consoles, too. Pre-orders are available now, with a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition pre-orders will net you three days of early access to the game, and seven soon-to-be-revealed F1 drivers to be used in My Team, 18,000 PitCoins, and a content pack for the story mode. Orders for the Standard Edition come with 5,000 PitCoins and some "exclusive items". If you've perhaps been watching Netflix's Drive to Survive and fancy getting into the world of Formula 1 games, take a look at our review of F1 2020, the exceptional predecessor to this newly announced game from Codemasters. Adidas Is Releasing Official South Park Towelie Sneakers for 4/20

Adidas and South Park have partnered together to launch an exclusive Towelie-themed sneaker, just in time for 4/20. That's right, your eyes aren't deceiving you, South Park's Towelie has been reincarnated into a pair of famed Adidas Campus shoes. They have been constructed with Towelie's signature terry cloth in purple and splashed with the classic Adidas stripes in white leather. They also feature two big Towelie eyes on the tongue, which turn bloodshot red when stepping out in the sun. Outside of their novelty look, the sneakers come with a couple of extra features. The most character-appropriate being a small hook-and-loop pocket that's fitted inside the tongue and acts as a hidden compartment for the wearer to store whatever they want — for now though, it's housing a Towelie keychain. Above that, a couple of Towelie's trademark catchphrases appear in print. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=adidas-x-south-park-towelie-sneaker-collaboration&captions=true"] Adidas is planning to release the South Park Towelie sneakers on April 20 to celebrate 4/20. They'll go on sale in the US and EU on the Adidas CONFIRMED app and at select specialty retail partners next week. For Towelie enthusiasts, a raffle to purchase the limited-edition Towelie shoe is now open on the Adidas app. Raffle winners will be drawn and notified to complete their purchase on 4/20. Towelie, a talking towel who was genetically engineered by Tynacorp, made his first appearance in the eighth episode of South Park's fifth season. After which, he became a recurring character, frequently appearing whenever the subject of water was mentioned to advise characters to keep a towel handy, giving him the opportunity to deliver one of his signature lines: "Don't forget to bring a towel." South Park's 23rd season earned a spot on IGN's list of Best Animated Series of 2019 after wrapping in December of that year. We praised the animated sitcom for demonstrating that it still has "plenty of gas left in the tank," with the series proving to be "as insightful and topical as ever," having spawned "one of the most purely hilarious episodes ever in Turd Burglars." Star Wars: The Bad Batch Official Poster Revealed

Disney has revealed an official poster for Star Wars: The Bad Batch ahead of its debut on Disney+ on May 4, 2021. This new poster was shared on Twitter and features the members of the titular Bad Batch - Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair - alongside the dark presence of the Emperor and the unnamed Kamino child who appears to play a big part in this original series. Ey_kVlLVoAEmRTJ While not shown, we know this series will also feature Grand Moff Tarkin, a young Saw Gerrera (played by Andrew Kishino, reprising his role from The Clone Wars series) and The Mandalorian's Fennec Shand (played by Ming-Na Wen). Star Wars: The Bad Batch will begin with a special 70-minute premiere on May 4, which also happens to be Star Wars Day, followed by new episodes every Friday starting on May 7. This Bad Batch is a group of five clones that were each created with a specific skill in mind to serve the Empire as Clone Force 99. They also come with a rebellious streak that causes them to become branded as enemies of the state. All five clones are being played by Dee Bradley Baker. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/03/30/star-wars-the-bad-batch-official-trailer-2"] This new series will act as a continuation of sorts the now-concluded Clone Wars series. It's one of the many Star Wars projects in production, including a Rogue One prequel series focused on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor and a mysterious female-led series from Russian Doll's Leslye Headland. Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Reportedly Contains Unreleased DLC Quest Files

The 1.2 update patch for Cyberpunk 2077 reportedly contains a collection of quest files that seem to point towards some unreleased DLC. As reported by Eurogamer, a data miner has discovered references to “episode one” quests that appear to largely take part in the Pacifica region of Night City. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/03/30/cyberpunk-2077-update-12-the-biggest-changes-and-updates"] The report describes a variety of quest files and descriptions that have been discovered in the patch 1.2 files, extracted using a modding tool. Within Cyberpunk’s files, main quests are labelled either q00x, q10x, or q20x, which denotes their location in either the prologue, act 1, or epilogue of the game. Within patch 1.2, though, files labelled q301 can be found, which would put these quests beyond the boundaries of Cyberpunk’s original story. They are also labelled “Story-ep1”, suggesting that the (possibly placeholder) name for upcoming quests could be “episode one”. These file names have also been confirmed to IGN by a separate source. Our source explained that files referencing these additional quests have been present since Cyberpunk 2077’s launch version - v1.03 - but the Eurogamer report reveals that an additional 215 files referencing “ep1” have been added in the 1.2 update. The contents and descriptions for many of these files feature links to Mr. Hands, the NPC Fixer who provides side quests in the Pacifica region of Night City. While many of the files apparently contain just placeholder text, some include descriptions, objectives, or even email messages between characters. Among the quest details discovered through these files is a storyline in which the player is apparently asked to rescue a character called Anthony Anderson from the Scavengers gang. There are also descriptions and some objectives for quests involving a hostage situation and finding a den of hidden netrunners. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/03/29/cyberpunk-2077-12-patch-notes-released-includes-hundreds-of-changes-ign-news"] Eurogamer’s data miner source notes that new Cyberpunk files are normally written in Polish, but their translation into English could point to them being closer to completion. As well as seemingly being a step towards DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 v1.2 is also a step towards bringing the game back to PlayStation Store, from which it was removed from sale shortly after launch. The update also introduced a host of new bugs, but a 1.21 hotfix has recently been deployed to help counter this.
