Sony Accidentally Teases PlayStation Plus Video Pass
Sony has seemingly accidentally released information about an unannounced PlayStation Plus Video Pass, which could add movie and TV content to the existing PS Plus subscription service.
Spotted by VGC, the PlayStation Poland website added – and then quickly removed – a banner that showed off the apparent service, accompanied by text that, when translated, reads:
"A new benefit available for a limited time on PlayStation Plus… PS Plus Video Pass is a trial service active 22.04.21 – 22.04.22. The subscription benefit is available to PS Plus users in Poland.”
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source: VGC[/caption]
The banner, seen above, includes images of Venom, Zombieland: Double Tap, and Bloodshot – all of which are movies made by Sony Pictures. It's possible that Sony plans to use its own movie portfolio to add value to its PS Plus subscription benefits.
Given the timing mentioned, it may be that the announcement went live ahead of its official announcement tomorrow. The wording also suggests that this could be a region-specific trial of the new pass in Poland. We've contacted Sony for comment.
If the pass works as suggested, it could be seen as a way for Sony to add value to its PS Plus service, especially in the context of Xbox Game Pass' success. It could even be part of the response to Xbox Game Pass mentioned late last year, when SIE President Jim Ryan asked if Sony had a plan to counter Game Pass by saying, "There is actually news to come, but just not today."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/19/playstation-backtracks-on-ps3-vita-after-fan-backlash-ign-daily-fix"]
The Microsoft subscription – which offers unlimited access to a selection of games, as well as subscriptions to other services at higher tiers – has been hugely successful, passing 18 million members early this year.
Earlier this year, Sony announced that it would discontinue sales and rentals of movie and TV content on the PS Store in August. The video pass would be the second major recent addition to PS Plus, after the PlayStation Plus Collection, which made a number of recent games permanently free to download for PS Plus members.

Netflix: The Witcher, Sex Education, and More to Return in Second Half of 2021
Netflix has announced that The Witcher, Sex Education, You, and Money Heist will return to the streaming service in the second half of this year.
The news of these shows returning to the streaming service arrived in the company's report on the first-quarter financial results for the year. Netflix reported just under four million new subscribers for its first quarter, coming in under analyst and company expectations, though a reacceleration of paid membership growth was anticipated for the second half of 2021 due to a "very strong back half slate."
Netflix highlighted The Witcher, Sex Education, You, and Money Heist as some of the "big hits" that would be returning with additional seasons later this year while also spotlighting "an exciting array" of original movies, including the likes of large scale, star-driven features like Red Notice and Don't Look Up, which both appeared on Netflix's sizzle reel for 2021 at the beginning of the year.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=12-exciting-netflix-movies-coming-in-2021&captions=true"]
Alongside its sizzle reel, Netflix pledged to release at least one new movie a week throughout 2021 for a total of at least 70. Other notable titles announced at the start of the year included Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, Halle Berry's directorial debut Bruised, the superhero comedy Thunder Force, and the action film Escape from Spiderhead, which stars Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller, and Jurnee Smollett.
Netflix has also been investing more in anime content after noting an exceptional uptake in anime streaming on the platform, with statistics showing that over 100 million households globally watched at least one anime title on Netflix between October 2019 and September 2020 — a noted increase of more than 50% on the previous year's figures.
With dozens of new shows and movies on the horizon, there's going to be plenty for everyone to stream over the coming months, though The Witcher Season 2 is likely to be one of the most anticipated titles given the success of its debut season. Henry Cavill shared a photo earlier this month to celebrate the second season wrapping production.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/15/the-witcher-season-2-will-see-all-characters-exist-on-same-timeline-ign-news"]
Season 2 of The Witcher will pick up with Geralt of Rivia taking Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen, where he will strive to protect Ciri from the mysterious power she possesses inside while the Continent's kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside the walls of the castle, located within the Kingdom of Kaedwen.
The second season has no premiere date yet, even though Season 3 is expected to be announced at some point. Netflix is also working on The Witcher: Blood Origin, a six-part spin-off prequel series set 1,200 years before Geralt walked the lands of the Northern Kingdoms, and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an anime feature film centered around Vesemir, Geralt's close friend and mentor.

Dave Bautista Set Up a Meeting With DC to Tell Them He’ll Play Bane One Day
Dave Bautista has revealed more about the time that he pitched Warner Bros. and DC to let him play Batman's arch-nemesis, Bane.
According to Collider, Bautista shared details about his pitch to portray the classic Batman antagonist during an appearance at Justice Con promoting his role in Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead. He revealed that, at one point, he went directly to the studios to strongly express his desire to portray Bane on the big screen in any future projects they had planned.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/08/warner-bros-will-have-theatrical-exclusives-in-2022"]
"I've made no secret about this," Bautista said after highlighting the DC villain as one of his dream roles. "I want to play Bane so bad I went to Warner Bros., had an appointment with them, had an appointment with DC, walked in the door and said, 'I want to play Bane.' I'm not kidding. They were a little like 'Woah, we're not even casting Bane.' I was like 'I don't care, I'm playing him.'"
After the event, Bautista took to social media to confirm his statements as fact. "I wasn't joking," he posted on Twitter alongside a photo of him at the Warner Bros. lot. "But in all honesty they did have a good giggle and show me the exit. At least I gave it a shot. My life seems to be a continuing mission to find an alternative route to get to where I want to be. I'm good with that."
Bautista has been vocal about playing Bane for quite some time now. Last year, he replied to a comment on social media where the tweeter shared that they had read an article speculating that Bautista could be playing the iconic villain in Matt Reeves' The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson. In response, Bautista explained that he had tried his best to win the role.

Though it sounds like he won't be appearing in the next Batman solo movie, The Batman is set to feature a "rogues gallery" comprised of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Paul Dano as Riddler alongside Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham's District Attorney Gil Colson, who may very well be one to watch out for, as Sarsgaard was previously rumored to be playing a pre-Two Face Harvey Dent.

Knights of the Old Republic Remake Reportedly Coming from Port Studio Aspyr
A remake of the 2003 Bioware RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is reportedly in the works at port studio Aspyr Media.
The news was revealed by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier during an interview with Ben Hanson of MinnMax. "This is public at this point, I've basically confirmed that Aspyr - which is the company that has ported a bunch of KOTOR games is working on [the remake]," Schreier said.
Eurogamer subsequently backed up that assertion, saying that it had also heard of Aspyr's involvement: "While the developer is known for often releasing straight ports, work is currently underway to make the project more of a remake instead." Aspyr has recently released a number of Star Wars ports, most recently the PS4 and Switch version of Star Wars: Republic Commando.
Rumours of a KOTOR remake have been swirling for some time, with reports from January 2020 suggesting that the game was in development and would "integrate elements from the first two games in order to bring certain things into the current Star Wars canon." Schreier then tweeted in February of 2020 "if it's really happening, it's not at EA." In January of this year, we heard reports that the remake was in the works, but not at EA or original developer Bioware – and Aspyr fits that bill. In other KOTOR news, a report from May 2019 suggested that a movie based on the Bioware game could be in the works at Disney, and potentially be part of a trilogy. Rocky 4’s New Director’s Cut Will Be Retitled Rocky Vs. Drago
Sylvester Stallone has revealed that the new version of Rocky 4 will be titled Rocky Vs. Drago - The Ultimate Director's Cut.
Stallone shared the movie's title in a recent Instagram post alongside a brief teaser of a new full-length documentary, titled 'Keep Punching: The Present Meets the Past,' that will accompany the director's cut of Rocky 4, offering fans insight into the behind-the-scenes process of re-editing the movie. Check out the video for Keep Punching in Stallone's post below:
"If you can go back to recut your film, I guarantee you, you would approach it with a sensitivity and a wisdom, and a confidence, 'Oh, why didn't I see that before?'" Stallone says in one of the clips. "All of us are entitled to follow our dreams, to stick to our beliefs, because in the end that's all you have and if you keep believing in that eventually your dreams will come true."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/11/07/the-rocky-creed-saga-in-7-minutes"]
The original Rocky 4, released in 1985, followed Rocky's training journey in the lead-up to his fight against Ivan Drago, a hulking Russian newcomer who mercilessly killed Rocky's friend Apollo Creed in the ring. Stallone indicated in a follow-up Instagram post there would be more footage of their final face-off match as he promised "major payback" for Drago in the new release.
We also previously learned that Paulie's robot will be scrapped from the director's cut entirely, with Stallone telling a fan that "the robot is going to the junkyard forever." In the 1985 film, Rocky's brother-in-law Paulie received the six-foot robot as an unexpected gift on his birthday, to which he humorously responded that he wanted a sports car, "not no walking trash can."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-weirdest-training-methods-from-the-rocky-and-creed-movies&captions=true"]
The events of the 1985 movie served as a backstory to Creed II, in which Apollo Creed's son, Donnie, challenges a new component in the ring, though it comes with mixed results. In our review of Creed II, we said the story failed to "let the past go, abandoning the exciting new path blazed by [Ryan] Coogler in favor of evoking what's come before, with undeniably diminished results."
Shortly after its release, Stallone announced that he was stepping out of the ring and officially retiring his iconic Rocky character for good, having portrayed the boxing legend in eight movies in total: Rocky I, II, III, IV and V, Rocky Balboa, and Creed I and II, receiving Academy Award nominations for best actor and best supporting actor in the process.

The New iPad Pro Has Better PlayStation Controller Support Than PS4
The newest iPad Pro not only features Apple's own M1 processor, but it also supports both the latest Xbox Series X/S controllers and the PS5's DualSense, complete with haptics.
Speaking during Apple's Spring Loaded event, iPad Product Marketing Manager Raja Bose was discussing how the graphics of the new iPad Pro are vastly improved thanks to the M1 processor's 8-core GPU when he also revealed the news about the controllers.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=ipad-pro-2021&captions=true"]
"You can also play the latest games with console-quality graphics at super-high framerates. This raw performance, along with the ProMotion display, four speakers, and now, support for the latest PlayStation or Xbox game controllers with haptics, makes playing games on iPad Pro insanely fun." Bose said.
While Bose didn't go into any further detail, a DualSense was shown on screen as he was discussing the controllers and haptics, hinting iPad Pro developers may be able to take advantage of the unique feature set offered by the DualSense, as well as the latest Xbox controller.
This also means that the new iPad Pro will have better PlayStation controller support than the PS4 currently has, as it doesn't currently support the DualSense natively, even though the PS3 does.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/06/ps5-dualsense-controller-review"]
The 11-inch iPad Pro will retail for $799 and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $1,099. Preorders on both models open on April 30th and will release in the second half of May.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Cancelled Wall Running Feature Has Been Modded Back In
Cyberpunk 2077's cancelled wall running feature has been brought back into the game thanks to a modder named Saturne.
As reported by PCGamesN, Saturne's wall-run mod is still a work in progress. However, it is available on Nexus Mods for players to try out right now. Once installed, double jumping near a wall will cause your V to run along said wall.
There are a few caveats, however, as not looking forward when wall-running can cause players to go through the wall. Furthermore, not all walls are suited for wall-running.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/08/27/cyberpunk-2077-gameplay-demo"]
“Don’t expect anything sick, it’s barely usable at the moment – it’s more of a proof of concept for myself,” Saturne says.
Wall-running was featured in the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal demo at E3 2018 in a scene where V used the ability before using Mantis Blades to stay in place on a wall, survey their surroundings, and then drop down to assassinate an enemy.
Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red decided to cut the wall-running mechanic in Cyberpunk 2077 due to "design reasons."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/01/cyberpunk-2077s-wall-running-mechanic-removed-due-to-design-reasons-ign-news"]
This mod is another example of the community working to unlock more of Cyberpunk 2077. Other modders have made unused quests playable and has worked to make V appear as they did in E3 demos.

Netflix Won’t ‘Turn the Screws’ on Password Sharing, CEO Says
Netflix "will test many things" as it explores ways to limit account sharing, but CEO Reed Hastings said that whatever the streaming giant releases "has got to feel like it makes sense to consumers."
The topic was broached during Netflix's Investor Relations interview today, in which executives were asked if the time was right to "turn the screws" on the password sharing that has become common across the platform.
"We will test many things, but we will never roll something out that feels like turning the screws... It has got to feel like it makes sense to consumers, that they understand," Hastings said.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=10-best-netflix-anime-series&captions=true"]
Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters, for his part, described the recent introduction of an account verification system as a test, "We're going to keep working on accessibility across the countries that we serve, but we also want to ensure that while we're doing that, that we're good at making sure that the people who are using a Netflix account, who are accessing the service, are the ones who are authorized to do so. And that's what this line of testing is about. It's not necessarily a new thing, we've been doing this for a while."
Hastings' comments were in response to the introduction of an account authentication feature back in March, in which users were asked to verify their account through text or email. It included the warning, "If you don't live with the owner of this account, you need your own account to keep watching." The feature also included the option to verify later, allowing users to continue without confirming their ownership of the account if they wished.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/04/01/the-biggest-streaming-movie-and-tv-releases-of-april-2021"]
Peters said that Netflix is still investigating the "right model" for its customers, and the company doesn't really know the "right place to land" on the subject. He said that Netflix would continue to take an iterative approach based on feedback from subscribers. In the meantime, Netflix has plenty of challenges to deal with as it heads into a sea of competition after a record-breaking year.
