A 500GB PS4 May No Longer Be Able to Fit Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone

Activision has said that players with a 500 GB PlayStation 4 may "need to make room" if they wish to have the fully updated versions of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare/Warzone present on one system. In a post on the Call of Duty blog, the franchise publisher wrote: "Those who own a standard PlayStation 4 with a default hard drive of 500 GB may need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare®/Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packs installed. Should you have both games installed and have kept up to date with updates, you may need to delete some unused Game Content to have a successful download and install of the [latest] Warzone patch." It's common knowledge that Activision's latest Call of Duty games take up swathes of storage, but it seems that they may be stretched beyond the capacity of a base PS4 as they receive more updates. It may be that, without compression, external storage may be come the only way to have the full Call of Duty package on one console fro some players. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/18/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-warzone-season-two-gameplay-trailer"] The blog notes that players can click R3 on the main menu of Black Ops Cold War to uninstall "content you may not have played in a while," say the Campaign or Zombies, for example. The same can be achieved in Modern Warfare or Warzone by heading to the 'General' tab in the options menu and then clicking the 'Games Installs' option. Of course, you don't need to download the Warzone Season 2 update if you only plan to play Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. This news arrives ahead of the launch of Season 2, which brings with it a new Zombies mode called Outbreak, new operators, weapons and maps. Zombies also appear to be headed to Warzone, if recent leaks are to be believed. Back in October of 2020, Epic Games pushed a patch to the similarly sizable Fortnite to cull its storage real estate by 60 GB. At this point, hopefully, Activision is looking into similar measures, as this certainly won't be the final Call of Duty update. “Rugrats is one of the most iconic cartoons recognized by fans around the globe, and this original version is one we are taking great care and pride in creating for a brand-new audience,” said Ramsey Naito, President, Nickelodeon Animation. “Having the voice cast behind these special characters come together is one of the essential pieces to making the show recognizable and we can’t wait to watch this talented group bring them to life again.”

The new series is being spearheaded by familiar Rugrats leadership, including executive producers Eryk Casemiro and Kate Boutilier, Rachel Lipman as co-producer, and Kellie Smith (The Fairly Oddparents) as line producer.

Rugrats originally debuted in 1991, spawning an empire of three theatrical films, nine seasons on TV, four Daytime Emmy Awards, and countless bits of merchandise, including 27 video games.

It's a busy week for Paramount Plus, which is also getting high-profile movies like Mission Impossible 7, A Quiet Place Part 2, a new division dedicated to Avatar: The Last Airbender properties, and more. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Joseph Knoop is a writer/producer/Reptar for IGN.

The Boys: Season 3 – Karl Urban and Cast Post First Look Set Photos

Cast members from The Boys have posted some first look set photos from the upcoming season. The Boys executive producer, Eric Kripke, started the fun by posting a photo what appears to be a golden statue of Antony Starr's Homelander on Twitter today. The statue is very reminiscent of something you'd see at the Oscars, and it's not hard to imagine how happy a statue like this will make Homelander. You can check out Kripke's photo below. It's also not hard to imagine how angry a statue like this will make Billy Butcher. Speaking of him, Karl Urban posted his own photo announcing Billy Butcher's return to the show. "Hullo hullo," Urban wrote in his Instagram post. "Day 1. Shooting [The Boys] Season 3. So good to be back!" The actor also said the show has "some real goodies lined up" for viewers. You can check out his post below. The final cast member to post about Season 3 of The Boys today was Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight in the show. Her Instagram post features two selfies with Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie Campbell in The Boys, with the caption, "back on our bulls***." If these photos are anything to go on, it seems Season 3 of The Boys has officially begun filming. Read this story about how the first episode of the new season will focus on Soldier Boy and then read about how Homelander is set up to become a "homicidal maniac" in the show. Check out this story about how Season 3 will see The Deep fight back against the Cult after that. GameStop Stock Is Surging Again, Though It’s Not Entirely Clear Why

Here we go again, folks. GameStop stock is soaring once more. Since its massive short squeeze driven by the Reddit community WallStreetBets and a few financial influencers, during which GME peaked at $483 per share in late January, GameStop's stock has been hovering in the $40-50 a share range since early February without much motion. Until today. This morning, GME opened at $44.70 a share, and until a few hours ago it looked like today would be another normal day. Then, just before 4pm ET, it began creeping up again, rising faster and faster in the final hour of trading. Trading was halted multiple times in the final stretch due to its rapid ascension, and by the end of the day GME had closed at $91.70 per share. But somehow, it's not done. GME has since continued to climb in after-hours trading, fluctuating wildly close to $200 per share at points. Why are we doing this again? It's hard to tell. Skimming the r/wallstreetbets subreddit doesn't reveal much for sure, and Reddit was down for a period of time earlier today right around when this started kicking off, though it's unclear if those events are actually connected. It is clear that many of the investors there are as surprised as anyone, if also delighted. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/01/28/what-is-going-on-with-gamestop-stock-ign-now"] The most obvious theory is that this is connected to the announcement of the departure of GameStop CFO Jim Bell yesterday, though this doesn't fully explain what's going on. Bell's resignation was revealed late yesterday, and if that were the only motivator, the stock likely would have gone up in after-hours trading yesterday and opened much higher. Instead, it remained steady until nearly the end of trading the following day. Another theory circulating is that it was indeed because of Bell's departure, but with different context. A source speaking to Forbes last night indicated that Bell's resignation wasn't exactly his idea, and that the board had lost faith in Bell to make the necessary e-commerce shifts to save the company. That would be in line with other supporting information about the situation at GameStop, such as a recent board refresh to include long-time activist shareholders and Chewy CEO Ryan Cohen -- who is very popular among the short squeeze crowd for his success in previous companies. And it would certainly explain why GameStop was willing to part with Bell when his contract stipulates a $2.8 million severance package. But the weirdest theory out there is that the surge is because of this tweet from Cohen, depicting...just a McDonalds ice cream cone and a frog emoji. What does that tweet mean? Who can say? But Cohen has been a major figure in the WallStreetBets short-selling spree simply by virtue of his joining the board and having been successful in previous ventures. He has petitioned the board for a more dedicated and focused e-commerce strategy, and while he's been light on the exact specifics of what that would entail so far, it seems to jive with what the company's other activist investors are up to. It's not clear what the ice cream has to do with any of this, but it's worth noting that Cohen doesn't tweet all that often, and several of his recent tweets are along these lines -- an image, and an emoji. For example, in early January he tweeted an image of a Blockbuster and a "poo" emoji. Deeper meaning or no, it's possible Cohen's tweet combined with the Bell situation could have been enough to get a buoyant Reddit community of amateur investors buying stock again. But regardless, at least for now, GME Reddit investors are back to cheering on others to keep their "diamond hands" -- holding onto the stock for as long as possible, waiting for even higher prices. Avatar: The Last Airbender Franchise Expanding with New Animated Movie, Dedicated Studio

Nickelodeon has announced the launch of new division dedicated to creating new series and movies based in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The division will be called Avatar Studios and will be led by original creators and executive producers Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Avatar Studios’ work will debut on Paramount+, Nickelodeon platforms, and unspecified third-party platforms, as well as in cinemas. The first project for Avatar Studios is set to be animated theatrical film. No further details were revealed but the project is scheduled to begin production this year. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-10-best-avatar-the-last-airbender-episodes&captions=true"] “It’s hard to believe it’s been 19 years since we created Avatar: The Last Airbender,” said Konietzko and DiMartino in a joint statement released alongside the announcement. “But even after all that time, there are still many stories and time periods in Aang’s world that we are eager to bring to life. We are fortunate to have an ever-growing community of passionate fans that enjoys exploring the Avatarverse as much as we do.” “We’re excited to be back at Nickelodeon where Avatar began, doing what we do best in the biggest way possible. We can’t wait to build the great teams and productions to make all of this fantasy a reality.” [ignvideo width=610 height=374 url=https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/10/avatar-the-last-airbender-game-made-in-dreams] Avatar: The Last Airbender originally aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons from 2005 to 2008. The Legend of Korra, set 70 years later in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, launched in 2012 and ran for four seasons.

Paramount+ Getting Mission Impossible 7, A Quiet Place 2, and More

Paramount+, the renamed streaming service formerly known as CBS All Access which encompasses all of ViacomCBS' networks and brands, is getting a huge assortment of new major theatrical films.

Variety and Deadline report that Mission Impossible 7, A Quiet Place 2, and the PAW Patrol movie are slated to release on Paramount+ a mere 45 days after their theatrical debut, with Variety noting, "Paramount will look to 30 days for most titles and 45 days for tentpoles."

A new Beavis and Butthead movie, a Workaholics movie with the original cast, a new Paranormal Activity movie, and a new Pet Semetary movie will forego theaters and exclusively release on Paramount+.

The Hollywood Reporter also states that James Bond: No Time to Die will also eventually land on Paramount Plus thanks to a new deal between Paramount and MGM.

The news was announced at ViacomCBS’ investors’ call on Wednesday. Paramount Plus, which launches on March 4, will serve as Viacom’s competitor to streaming juggernauts like Netflix, Amazon, and HBO Max. More than 2,500 films will be offered in its library.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details on the new Paranormal Activity movie are scarce, but the upcoming Pet Semetary film will serve as an origin story for the Stephen King horror franchise.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=12-cancelled-tv-shows-wed-love-to-see-revived&captions=true"]

Heading up Paramount Plus’ comedy offerings are a new Beavis and Butthead film from series creator Mike Judge, The Weekly Show With Trevor Noah, Inside Amy Schumer, a new Workaholics movie, and a new Reno 911 special dubbed Reno 911: The Hunt for QAnon.

Pre-COVID-19, the norm was that movies would screen in theaters for a minimum of 90 days before being available elsewhere. Paramount is following the example set by Warner Bros. and Universal in closing the theatrical window to get their tentpoles in front of audiences at home sooner. Warner Bros. will release its entire 2021 movie slate on HBO Max the same day as their theatrical release, while Universal Pictures will sell movies digitally for a premium price after 17 days in theaters.

A Quiet Place 2 is currently scheduled for theatrical release on September 17, while Mission Impossible 7 is targeting November 17, although both have been the subject of previous release delays.

Also featured as part of ViacomCBS' investor day, a Frasier revival is also headed for Paramount PlusShowtime's Halo series will premiere on Paramount+ instead of the premium cable network, and Nickelodeon is expanding the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise with a new animated film and dedicated production studio.

Kevin Feige Shares Updates on Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and More

On Wednesday, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took questions at the first Disney+ Television Critics Association panel where he shared details about the company’s upcoming plans for the MCU. Feige kept things mostly spoiler-free but gave insight into the development of ongoing Marvel shows like WandaVision, and provided updates on upcoming programs including She-Hulk and Moon Knight. And Feige left things open for future plans by acknowledging the fanbase for non-Disney+ shows like Netflix’s Daredevil and ABC’s Agents of SHIELD. Feige’s plans for the MCU on Disney+ are already well underway. The TCA panel was hosted over Zoom, but Feige answered press questions from the set of Ms. Marvel, which he says is finishing up shooting. Hawkeye is also currently filming, with Jeremy Renner returning as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld joining him as Kate Bishop. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvel-cinematic-universe-every-upcoming-movie-and-tv-show&captions=true"] Beyond that, Feige also said She-Hulk will begin production “in a few weeks” and a “week or so after that” Moon Knight will also go into production. Disney+ is clearly a big focus for Feige as more MCU shows enter the production pipeline. Some of these shows are being looked at as part of multi-season series, though Feige didn’t reveal which ones: “Some of the shows that I mentioned that we’re about to start filming, we are keeping in mind a structure that would lead into a season two and a season three in a more direct way, than, say, a show like WandaVision, which clearly goes into a feature, but it is new.” Feige was referring to how Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff, is already slated to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness directed by Sam Raimi. So while there’s no season two of WandaVision planned, characters jumping from a show to a movie is part of the MCU connectivity. “Sometimes it can go into a feature then back into a series,” said Feige. “We’ve announced that Ms. Marvel, after her debut on Disney+, will be going into the second Captain Marvel film, but sometimes, and yet to be announced, we are thinking of and planning second seasons for some of the upcoming series.” [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/07/marvels-falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-official-trailer"] Feige also acknowledged the popularity of some non-Disney+ shows, though he made no mention of whether they will join the MCU. Feige said there are “legions of Agents of SHIELD fans and Daredevil fans, Jessica Jones fans and Luke Cage fans” who would disagree with one reporter’s assertion that Disney+ is Marvel’s first successful TV venture. But whether these shows will join the MCU remains unknown. Though if you know about the big WandaVision spoiler, you’ll know something like that isn’t impossible. Outside of Marvel's TCA panel, Loki has received an official release date in June, a month delay after previously being announced for May. In non-TCA Marvel news, it was finally revealed that the title of the next Spider-Man movie is Spider-Man: No Way Home. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt T.M. Kim is News Editor at IGN.

Halo TV Series Moves From Showtime to Paramount Plus

The Halo TV series has been in development for a very long time, but it should finally see the light of day in 2022. However, the series is no longer debuting on Showtime, but will instead be exclusive to the Paramount+ streaming service. Deadline broke the news about this latest change in direction for Halo: The Series, which is being officially announced at the ViacomCBS Streaming Event today. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/01/10/the-halo-tv-series-what-we-want"] Halo: The Series has been plagued by false starts and complications for years at this point. For a while it seemed as though the show's woes were behind it when it began production in 2020. But as with so many Hollywood projects, production was suspended due to the pandemic. Luckily, Halo is back on track. Production is back underway in Budapest, and ViacomCBS is now teasing a Q1 2022 premiere window. Halo: The Series stars Pablo Schreiber as Master ChiefDanny Sapani and Olive Gray as Jacob and Miranda KeyesBokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, and Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac and Kate Kennedy as three new Spartan characters. Natascha McElhone plays Dr. Catherine Halsey. Originally McElhone was supposed to play dual roles, also providing the voice of Master Chief's AI partner Cortana. But due to scheduling difficulties caused by the pandemic, Cortana will now be voiced by her video game voice actress, Jen Taylor. The Showtime series is being made in production with game developers 343 Industries and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror director Otto Bathurst is due to direct and executive produce the 9-episode first season. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-halo-review&captions=true"] It remains to be seen which of the various Halo games, novels and comics might inspire the plot of the TV series. It's rumored the series may break from tradition by showing Master Chief's face, but that remains unconfirmed. IGN has been able to see Schreiber's Mjolnir armor behind closed doors, and can report that it looks fantastic. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Jesse is a mild-mannered staff writer for IGN. Mass Effect Project Teased by Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill, who has already brought Geralt to life in Netflix's The Witcher, has just teased that he may be working on a project set in the Mass Effect universe. Cavill shared an photo of himself on Instagram with the words, "Secret project? Or just a handful of paper with random words on it... Guess you'll have to wait and see. Happy hump day all. #HumpDay #Secrets" Included with the image was part of what appears to be a script or a "handful of paper with random words on it," but it is too blurry to clearly make out what is on the page. GamePressure used a program called Focus Magic to remove the blur, and the clearer image reveals such words as Cerberus, Tali'Zorah, and Geth. IGN has also used Focus Magic to fix the image and can confirm these words do appear, as you can see below. Capture 2 Fans of the Mass Effect franchise will immediately know that these are words and characters pulled right from that beloved trilogy. Furthermore, it appears that the text Cavill has shown us comes directly from Mass Effect 3's Wikipedia page. "Following the events on Tuchanka and a failed coup by Cerberus to take over the Citadel, the quarians offer their support to the Alliance if Shepard helps them reclaim their homeworld, Rannoch, from the geth," The Wikipedia page reads. "Assisted by a quarian, either Tali'Zorah or Admiral Daro'Xen, Shepard boards a geth dreadnought and rescues a captive geth unit, either Legion or a facsimile occupied by a geth virtual intelligence (VI), then disables the Reaper control signal over the geth." A possible Mass Effect movie has been in the works as far back as the late 2000s. In 2010, Legendary Pictures acquired the movie rights to the franchise and was set to feature the producers behind The Dark Knight and Spider-Man. There have been more rumors as the years have went on, but nothing too substantial has come since then. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/12/11/mass-effect-new-installment-announcement-trailer"] This could be a hint that Cavill may soon be taking on the role of Commander Shepard or another character in either a film or TV adaptation. It's also possible he could be lending his voice to a game project or otherwise. After a controversial ending to Mass Effect 3 and the mixed reception on Mass Effect Andromeda, BioWare is gearing up to bring Mass Effect back to its prime, and this could be another part in their plan to do so. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is set to be released on May 13, 2021, and BioWare has announced that a brand-new Mass Effect game is in "early production." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/02/mass-effect-legendary-edition-our-first-impressions"] [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story?
