What Kind of Resident Evil Village News to Expect
As we shared above, you can expect a new trailer, a first-look at gameplay, a guided tour of the village, along with other news and announcements about Resident Evil Village. Resident Evil Village (also known as Resident Evil 8) was revealed back in June during the PS5 game reveal event, and was also confirmed for Xbox Series X and PC via Steam. Details about a deluxe edition and a mode called Re:Verse for Resident Evil Village were leaked via Humble Bundle, but it's unclear if we'll hear more about this during the showcase. So far we know Resident Evil 8 follows RE7's Ethan Winters and takes place in a desolate, snowy village crawling with all sorts of monsters, including zombies, werewolves, witches, and what the internet refers to as the "tall vampire lady" featured in the video of the showcase's announcement tweet. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/16/resident-evil-8-village-gameplay-trailer"] During a presentation at Tokyo Game Show, director Morimasa Sato emphasized Village will focus more on player freedom and exploration, describing it as a "horror movie you can play." Producer Peter Fabiano recently told IGN Resident Evil Village is an "accumulation of all the best elements of Resident Evil games from the past 25 years," and that there will be "plenty of puzzles to solve and mysteries to unfold." With a trailer, gameplay, and a guided tour of the village on the table for the showcase, it's possible we'll get to see some, if not, all of that in action today. Game of Thrones Prequel “Tales of Dunk and Egg” Series Reportedly in Development at HBO
HBO is developing an adaptation of “Tales of Dunk and Egg,” a Game of Thrones prequel novel, Variety reports.
The prequel series follows Ser Duncan the Tall (the titular Dunk) and Aegon V Targaryen (Egg) 90 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones.
Author George R.R. Martin originally released the series as three separate novellas, with the Hedge Knight in 1998, The Sworn Sword in 2003, and The Mystery Knight in 2010. The three novellas were combined into a collected edition titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” in 2015. Fans are also eagerly waiting for news of a fourth novella.
Variety reports that no cast or crew have been hired onto the project yet, but Variety’s sources say the series is a high priority for HBO in the wake of Game of Thrones’ colossal success. Variety also reports that the series will be a standard hour-long format program. HBO is also currently readying “House of the Dragon,” another prequel series which explores the Targaryen family 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, expected to debut in 2022.

HBO previously canceled a Game of Thrones prequel project starring Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, King Kong) earlier in 2019.
For Game of Thrones loyalists (who may or may not have been disappointed by the series finale), George R.R. Martin says he hopes to finish Winds of Winter by the end of 2021.
