Cyberpunk 2077 Review

Early on in Cyberpunk 2077, there's a series of side quests that has you tracking down rogue taxis run by faulty AI. You have to talk one of the taxis down from suicide as it contemplates driving off a bridge, while another needs to be brute-forced into behaving, and a third is an obvious reference to a famous video game AI that manipulates you as you chase it down. It's one of the best minor questlines in the game, an intriguing and surprisingly human substory that rewards you with lots of much-needed cash. It's also an excuse to send you to every corner of Night City, a clever introduction to all the areas you haven't yet been.

I spent a lot of my playtime following side-quest threads like this one, excited about the premise and hoping to find something as interesting or fun or rewarding at the end and, in many cases, I did. But now, after finishing the main story, I can't see how most of those activities fit into the overall narrative or the character I was playing. The main story doesn't even gel with itself.

Cyberpunk 2077 draws heavily from its source material, with everything from the world itself to the life and death of Johnny Silverhand coming from its pen-and-paper inspiration. But unlike in a tabletop RPG, you aren't playing a role of your own creation in Cyberpunk 2077; you're playing V, and this is V's story, not yours. I often felt like I was role-playing two different characters: one V for the side quests and one more limited V for the main story.

Kingsman: ‘Something Like Seven’ More Movies Being Planned

Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn is said to be plotting "something like seven more Kingsman films" to expand his highly successful franchise. Deadline reports that Marv Group CEO Zygi Kamasa discussed the production company's expansion plans at the Winston Baker UK Finance Summit late last week, where he touched on the prospective development of several Kingsman projects, including numerous movies and a TV series. "We want to grow the business and the output," Kamasa explained at the conference. "We have a Kingsman TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the Kingsman world." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/09/18/kingsman-the-golden-circle-review"] Kingsman: The Secret Service proved to be a surprise hit ($414.3 million worldwide from an $85 million budget) and its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle turned out to be a serviceable follow-up ($410.9 million worldwide from a $104 million budget), but the franchise may face its biggest challenge with the release of its third film, The King's Man, which is slated to arrive in theaters in February of next year. While Vaughn has returned to write and direct the film, the primary faces of the franchise - Taron Egerton and Colin Firth - have not been enlisted in the prequel, which precludes the first film. Instead, this entry will follow how the Kingsman spy agency started up in the early 1900s, and will serve as a real test as to how dependable the franchise really is, without the main anchors of its primary cast. The contemporary Kingsman timeline - made up so far of The Secret Service and The Golden Circle films - was originally envisioned as a trilogy, and Egerton recently confirmed that the script has been written for the third sequel. The story will reportedly focus on concluding the relationship between Egerton and Firth's characters. Johnny Silverhand Tells You to Go Away If You Try to Play Cyberpunk 2077 Early With a Preload

Cyberpunk 2077 is available to preload now, and players have discovered a cute Keanu Reeves Easter egg if they try to launch the game early through GOG Galaxy. Posted to Reddit by user jmendo02, once you boot up the game after preloading it via the GOG Galaxy service, you'll see a landfill vista. You'll then get a very cheeky line from Reeves' Johnny Silverhand, who says "Go back to sleep, Samurai! It's not December 10th yet." AlexEnMadrid in the comments on Reddit mentioned that it was a missed opportunity to use the yellow screen favored by Cyberpunk 2077's Twitter presence to announce delays, but we think that would've been far too cruel...
