The Mandalorian: Eagle-Eyed Fans Catch On-Set Mistake in Latest Episode

The Mandalorian: Season 2, Episode 4, "The Siege" accidentally features a crew member in the background of a shot. As pointed out by a number of eagle-eyed fans, you can jump to 18:52 in the latest episode for a shot where Mando and his crew turn a corner and come in contact with enemies. In the background on the far left side, a crew member can be seen standing halfway behind the set with jeans, a green t-shirt, and what could be a watch or some sort of band on their wrist. That mistake is also captured in one of the official promo pics for the episode. Lucasfilm introduces its most disgusting, horrifying creature to the Star Wars universe yet: a human from Earth.[/caption] This gaffe is already being compared to a similar incident in Game of Thrones: Season 8, when a Starbucks coffee cup was visible in a shot during an episode. The coffee cup was then digitally removed from the episode for future airings. The episode was directed by none other than legendary Hollywood actor Carl Weathers, who also plays Greef Karga in the series. Weathers has been celebrating the release of the episode all day on his Twitter page but hasn't commented on the error. Instead, he's thanking fans and declaring how grateful he is to direct an episode. "#TheMandalorin episode 12, 'The Siege' is a joyously #StarWars kind of ride," Weathers tweeted. "Yours truly is grateful to Jon Favreau for the opportunity to direct this offering! Thanks to all cast and to the amazing crew and to Disney." When a fan tweeted at Weathers saying he should direct a Star Wars movie, Weathers replied, "PREACH!" [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/26/the-mandalorian-season-2-episode-4-review"] This crew member isn't the only person to have a cameo in The Mandalorian lately. Star Wars: Battlefront II actress Janina Gavankar had a cameo in a recent episode. Here is a list of every character and Hollywood actor to cameo in The Mandalorian so far. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-mandalorian-season-2&captions=true"] IGN's review of The Mandalorian Chapter 12 praised the episode as "a good indicator that Season 2 seems to have found its groove." The Mandalorian won't take a break for any holidays, with a new episode planned every Friday through December 18. Black Lightning to End With Season 4

Black Lightning will end its run after its upcoming fourth season with a spinoff series centered on Painkiller in the works. It was previously reported that the seventh episode of Black Lightning season 4 will be a backdoor pilot for a Painkiller series. Salim Akil, who developed Black Lightning as well as wrote and directed various episodes of the series, confirmed the Painkiller show and thanked the Black Lightning crew in a statement to Variety. "Thank you to the phenomenal cast, writers, and crew without whom none of this would’ve been possible,” Akil said. “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to do and the moments we’ve been able to create in bringing DC’s first African-American family of super heroes to life for the culture. I’m very grateful to Peter Roth, Warner Bros. TV, Mark Pedowitz, The CW Network, and Greg Berlanti for their partnership and support of my vision at every step of this journey. While Season Four may be the end of one journey, I’m extremely excited to usher in a new chapter and continued collaboration with The CW as we tell the story of Painkiller.” [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/18/crisis-on-infinite-earths-crossover-review"] Black Lightning season 4 will begin airing Monday, February 8, which is a few weeks before The Flash season 7 and the series premiere of Superman & Lois. The Black Lightning news comes about two months after The CW announced that Supergirl will end after season 6. Fans were already questioning whether the Arrowverse was ending or evolving, but the confirmation of a Painkiller series shows that The CW is still game to host new DC Comics content. Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow have also been renewed for new seasons. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-flash-movies-possible-dceu-cameos&captions=true"] The upcoming Flash movie will be a franchise-crossing event in the same vein of Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths. This opens the door for Arrowverse characters to make a cameo on the big screen. IGN already rounded up all of the surprise appearances from Arrowverse's game-changing event. Deadpool 3 in Development With Bob’s Burgers Writers

Deadpool 3 is in the works with two Bob's Burgers writers currently working on the screenplay. Deadline says Ryan Reynolds has been hearing pitches from writers concerning the future of his biggest character. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin won out and will write the script. Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are on board to work on the new movie, which is still in early development. It will be the first Deadpool movie produced directly by Marvel Studios. The Deadpool Twitter account seemingly confirmed the news by tweeting out a picture of Bob from Bob's Burgers with Deadpool's dual swords on his back. This will mark the first time in the franchise that the script will not be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is reportedly also not on board and hasn't participated in the meetings for a new writer so far. Deadline says that Leitch has a schedule filled through 2021, but Deadpool 3 is far enough away that Leitch may still be able to direct. There is no official word yet if the movie can secure an R-rating, but Disney's former CEO Bob Iger, who is now the executive chairman of Disney, has already given his blessing to an R-rating. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/22/rob-liefeld-calls-out-kevin-feige-and-disney-over-deadpool"] Deadpool's creator Rob Liefeld said last May that there was "no movement" on Deadpool 3, which he reiterated at Comic-Con in July. Josh Brolin recently discussed his time playing Cable in Deadpool 2, but there's no word yet on if he or any other cast members besides Reynolds will return for Deadpool 3. The Last of Us Gets Series Order from HBO

HBO has officially ordered a series based on The Last of Us video game franchise, HBO executive vice president of programming Francesca Ori announced Friday. Though a series based on The Last of Us had been in discussion for some time now, Friday's announcement reconfirms HBO's intent on the show and attaches a few key names to the project. Writing the series are The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann and Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin. Druckmann will also be executive producing the series alongside Cheryl Strauss (Chernobyl and Game of Thrones) as well as Naughty Dog president Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. HBO is partnering with Sony Pictures Television on the series, with PlayStation Productions, Word Games, and Naughty Dog all co-producing. “Craig and Neil are visionaries in a league of their own,” said Orsi. “With them at the helm alongside the incomparable Carolyn Strauss, this series is sure to resonate with both die-hard fans of ‘The Last of Us’ games and newcomers to this genre-defining saga. We’re delighted to partner with Naughty Dog, Word Games, Sony and PlayStation to adapt this epic, powerfully immersive story.” The Last of Us evidently won't be the only video game property that Sony hopes to convert into a TV production. “We’re thrilled to be working with HBO and this fantastic creative team to bring ‘The Last of Us’ series to life,” said Jeff Frost, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios and Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions. “PlayStation’s innovative storytelling and ingenuity is a natural complement to SPT’s creative focus. Our collaboration is a great example of our ‘One Sony’ philosophy at work. We look forward to developing even more iconic game IP in the future.” According to HBO's announcement, the series will focus on the events of the original The Last of Us game, which sees Joel and Ellie smuggling themselves out of an oppressive quarantine zone and traveling across a post-apocalyptic United States. HBO says that the series will be available on both the HBO channel and to stream on HBO Max. Last we heard, Mazin (a self-described Last of Us fan) assured fans in a BBC interview that he hopes to "expand" upon the series rather than "undo" any part of it, including Ellie's sexual orientation. Stranger Things Season 4 Cast Adds Robert Englund, GoT Alum and More

Stranger Things Season 4 has expanded its cast with eight new actors. Netflix has announced that Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great) have joined the cast of Stranger Things as series regulars, together with horror icon Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), who has boarded the series in a recurring role alongside Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones), Sherman Augustus (Westworld), Mason Dye (The Goldbergs), and Nikola Djuricko (Genius). To accompany this announcement, the streamer shared a few interesting character details about the new additions, some of which were teased last year. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/07/06/what-will-happen-in-stranger-things-season-4"] Series regular Bower will be playing Peter Ballard, a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. The official character description questions whether he will "finally take a stand" against the "brutality he witnesses day after day." Franco is joining the cast to play Argyle, Jonathan's new best friend. His character is described as being a "fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza," so we should probably expect plenty of takeouts with the gang this season. Quinn joins as Eddie Munson, "an audacious 80's metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High's official D&D club." He is said to be a marmite character who is "hated by those who don't understand him and beloved by those who do." He'll find himself at the "terrifying epicentre of this season's mystery." Joining the cast in a recurring role, Englund, who is best known for playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, will take on another creepy character as Victor Creel, "a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s." Elsewhere, Augustus will play Lt. Colonel Sullivan. He is said to be "an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all," which could be good news for Dye's Jason Carver, who sounds like he's going to face some challenges this season. Jason is one of those characters who seemingly has it all; "he's handsome, he's rich, he's a sports star, and he's dating the most popular girl in school." But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, Jason's perfect world apparently begins to unravel. Finally, Djuricko will play Yuri, "a seedy and unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter," while Wlaschiha will star as Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Dmitri is said to be "smart, cunning, and charming... but can he be trusted?" [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=stranger-things-season-3s-80s-references-a-side-by-side-comparison&captions=true"] Production on Stranger Things Season 4 was suspended back in March after Netflix announced that it would be pausing filming on all of its TV shows and movies in the US and Canada in an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The hugely popular sci-fi series has since resumed filming, with cameras starting to roll again this past September. Stranger Things Seasons 1-3 are currently available for streaming on Netflix. GTA Online: New Heist Coming December Adds a Whole New Island

GTA Online will add the Cayo Perico Heist on December 15. Described as GTA Online's biggest-ever heist, Cayo Perico adds an entire new island to the game, and can be played as a solo experience. Announced with a teaser trailer (below), the Cayo Perico Heist tasks players with infiltrating "one of the most secure private islands in the entire world". You'll evade or fight security, "and escape with valuable evidence along with as much art, gold and drug money as you can carry." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/20/gta-online-the-cayo-perico-heist-teaser-trailer"] Playable either alone or with friends, Cayo Perico will let you choose your approach to the heist, and the tools used, and will also feature new vehicles, weapons, social spaces, in-game DJs, and radio stations with over 100 new songs. "Oh," reads a press release, "and a very large, very versatile, and very heavily armed submarine HQ with plenty of other surprises." The update was teased yesterday, showing off the "El Rubio Dossier" and mentioning a John Doe – we're still yet to learn much more about those, but Rockstar promises more information is on the way.
