Spider-Man Remastered PS4-PS5 Save Transfer Is Now Available
Those who played Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 are now able to transfer over their save files to Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PS5.
Insomniac Games' update to Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 allows this save transfer and also bring over three new suits from Spider-Man Remastered to the original version. Spider-Man Remastered was also updated to allow for save transfers and includes various fixes for the game for issues such as the rest mode crash.
The process is pretty simple, but it does require that you still own the PS4 version of Marvel's Spider-Man. @DKShadow on Twitter gave a guide on how to make it work:
- Update the game on PS4/PS4 to latest versions.
- In Spider-Man on PS4, hit R1 in the main menu to upload your save data.
- In Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, hit R1 in the main menu to download the save data.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Has No Chrysler Building Due to Copyright Issues
If you have been swinging around New York City in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you may have noticed that the iconic Chrysler Building has been replaced by a generic skyscraper. Even though the Chrysler Building has appeared in 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man and other Marvel media, copyright issues prevented its inclusion in Insomniac's latest adventure.
As reported by Game Informer, the Chrysler Building went under new ownership in 2019 and no agreement was made before the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="800"] Image via Game Informer[/caption]
Since 2008, the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, which is an investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government, owned 90% of the building while the New York-based real estate investment company Tishman Speyer Properties owned 10% and managed the building.
In January 2019, the Chrysler Building was put up for sale and it was co-purchased by the Austrian company SIGNA Group and New York real estate development company RGR Holding LLC. for $150 million. As an interesting aside, this sale price was "down from the reported $300 million ($433 million inflated for 2019) it was purchased for in 2001, and significantly less than the $800 million ($957 million inflated for 2019) Abu Dhabi Investment Council reportedly spent in 2008 for its majority of the building and the retail space next door."
Michael Lee, the founder of Lee Law, spoke to Game Informer and explained how the copyright process works in regards to buildings like the Chrysler Building.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/06/marvels-spider-man-miles-morales-review"]
"If you have just a basic box of a building that looks like just a generic building, you can't go around and sue every building in Manhattan, and say, 'You have stolen my idea of what a building looks like,'" Lee said. "You can't protect the functionality of something, but you could protect the artistic parts of it. So when it comes to certain architecture, whether it has big spires at the top, or whether it has curved glass, whether you see something and you see that it's unique and different, that's absolutely protected by copyright. So in order to reproduce it in either another building or make a derivative work such as a T-shirt, a model, or even putting it in a video game, you need authorization from the copyright owner to reproduce the protected thing – which in this case could be the Chrysler Building."
Lee also mentioned that if a movie or form of media has a quick glimpse of the Chrysler Building or other skyscraper, it may not be an issue, but for a game like Spider-Man: Miles Morales where you can climb up and inspect every part of the building, it could have opened up Insomniac, Marvel, and Sony to possible litigation.
Insomniac Games reportedly tried to get permission to use the Chrysler Building, but the new owners and Insomniac could not come to an agreement for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

"When creating our representation of the city we wanted to include as many landmarks as we could to add to the sense of immersion," James Stevenson, Insomniac's community director, told Game Informer when asked for comment. "Sometimes negotiations to use those locations didn’t work out, which was the case with the Chrysler Building in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales."

Channing Tatum, Lord & Miller Reteam for Universal Monster Movie
Some of the team behind 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street are reuniting for a new "tongue-in-cheek thriller," as Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Jump Street films, The LEGO Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and star Channing Tatum are collaborating on a movie "inspired by Universal’s classic monster legacy."
Per Deadline, Lord and Miller will produce while Tatum produces and stars in an untitled monster project that will be a modern-day, comedic take on one or more of Universal's classic creatures (think Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy, etc). The full plot details are being kept under wraps for now.
Reid Carolin (producer on Magic Mike and Channing Tatum's directorial debut, Dog) had the original idea for the project and wrote the treatment. Wes Tooke (Midway) is writing the script.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/05/18/x-men-apocalypse-cast-sing-the-x-men-cartoon-theme-tune"]
In other Channing Tatum news, IGN learned that X-Men: Apocalypse was meant to set the stage for a Mister Sinister-driven X-Men movie and that the plan was for Sinister to appear in the now canceled Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum.
After his Gambit film went bust, Tatum set his sights on another (very different) hero and is now teaming with Roy Lee (Godzilla vs. Kong) to co-produce their version on the '90s surreal superhero title The Maxx.

Alison Brie on a Possible GLOW Movie: ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’
One of the more recent casualties of Netflix's new harsh habit of canceling shows unceremoniously is GLOW, which, rather than being canceled, was actually 'un-renewed.' Which is to say it had already been picked up for a fourth and final season before Netflix changed its mind and pulled the plug completely, leaving fans in limbo with an unfinished story.
Obviously, in times like these, viewers might clamor for that one extra season, even if it's a shortened version, just to give some closure. Or, in this case, a GLOW wrap up movie, which fans (and star Marc Maron) have asked for.
While talking to The Playlist's podcast, The Fourth Wall, Brie opened up about the possibility of a movie - and why she's not exactly counting on it happening.
"I certainly think a [GLOW] movie could tie everything up," Brie said. "Our creators, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, are incredible writers. And they’re so devoted to these characters that they created. I think a movie would be a great way to wrap it up."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/02/new-to-netflix-for-november-2020"]
"I’m a little pessimistic about it actually happening just in light of everything that’s gone on this year and how difficult it is to get anything back into production with COVID," Brie continued, "and I’m also part of the Community cast, who’s been trying to get a movie going for six years."
"So what I’m saying is don’t hold your breath because if it does happen, it might take a minute."
If you're looking for some reviews on Netflix's most recent offerings, here's our take on The Queen's Gambit, starring Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as our review of The Crown: Season 4.
Netflix also made news recently by announcing that it's testing out a new linear content channel, dubbed Netflix Direct, which will offer subscribers real-time, scheduled programming for the very first time.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Names a Street After Chadwick Boseman
Update (11/21/20) - Reddit user RollieDell has discovered that a street in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was named after the late Chadwick Boseman.
Chadwick Way has replaced 42nd Street in Miles Morales for PS5, and can be found between 1st and 3rd Avenue.
The number 42 has a lot of meaning for both Boseman, as he starred as Jackie Robinson in the film 42. Furthermore, the number 42 appears in both the original Miles Morales comic and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as an homage to Robinson.
Original story follows.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Spider-Man: Miles Morales includes tributes to two Marvel titans - Chadwick Boseman and Stan Lee - with a particularly heartfelt message for the king of Wakanda.
In the newest Marvel's Spider-Man game, players will find all kinds of easter eggs and references to the greater Marvel universe. But one tribute isn't hidden at all but is one that certainly pulls at the heartstrings.
Small Spoilers for Spider-Man: Miles Morales Credits Below.
After beating Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a message memorializing Chadwick Boseman, who played the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plays during the credits. It reads:"In loving memory of a noble king, Chadwick Boseman. His honor, strength, and compassion will reverberate for generations to come. Wakanda forever."
Boseman died in August 2020 at the age of 43 due to complications with colon cancer. Boseman kept the diagnosis private for years while continuing to act in films like Black Panther, Da 5 Bloods, and more. Miles Morales also includes another memorial, an in-game one, for Marvel's Stan Lee. A bronze statue of the legendary comic book creator can be found in the game's open-world on the Upper West Side next to Mick's Diner.Spider-Man: Miles Morales pays a beautiful tribute to late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman. pic.twitter.com/oDHLpsX27R

Lee, who died in 2018, made a cameo as the owner of Mick's diner in Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4. It was part of a long-running tradition of including Stan Lee in various Marvel projects over the years, whether it be in movies, books, or other. A tribute to Lee was also added to the Spider-Man PS4 credits post-launch. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/06/marvels-spider-man-miles-morales-review"] It's nice to see Miles Morales and the developers pay tribute to two Marvel greats, especially given how recent their deaths have been. A Copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 Just Sold for a World Record-Setting $156,000
A sealed copy of NES' Super Mario Bros. 3 has sold for $156,000 USD and has set the world record for the highest price paid for a video game at auction.
On November 20, Heritage Auctions sold a sealed copy of 1990's Super Mario Bros. 3 for $156,000 and surpassed the sale of NES' Super Mario Bros. from earlier this year that sold for $114,000 USD.
The bidding for this rare copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 began at $62,000 USD, and 20 bidders fought for the chance to purchase it and, in doing so, also made this the world's first-ever million-dollar video-game auction.
"While the condition of the game is remarkable, what makes this copy even more singular is the layout of the packaging itself: Exceedingly rare are sealed copies with the word "Bros." formatted to the left, covering one of Mario's signature white gloves," A press release from Heritage Auctions stated. "Collectors have spent years looking for such a version — the earliest in the Super Mario Bros. 3 production history – and usually come up empty-handed."
This particular copy earned a grade of Wata 9.2 A+. In July, another variant of Super Mario Bros. 3 with a grade of Wata 9.0 A sold for $38,400 USD.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/01/14/super-mario-bros-3-world-record-speedrun"]
Friday was also another big day for video games, as a sealed copy of the "Red Version" of 1998's Pokemon for Nintendo Game Boy - which was graded Wata 9.8 A++ - sold for $84,000 USD, making it the highest price ever paid for a Pokemon title. Furthermore, its final price was four times its pre-sale estimate.
In 2019, we did a deep-dive into why an ultra-rare copy of NES' Super Mario Bros. sold for over $100,000, and why some earn these high prices. Speaking of high prices, a prototype of the Nintendo PlayStation console also sold for $360,000 USD at auction earlier this year, making 2020 a important and notable year for video game collectibles.
