Spider-Man Ally Silk Getting Live-Action Series from Sony
Sony Pictures Television is reportedly developing a live-action TV series about Silk, an ally of Spider-Man's in the Marvel comics. Silk is the superhero pseudonym of Korean American Cindy Moon, who debuted in 2014's Spider-Man Vol. 3 #4.
Lauren Moon (Atypical, Good Trouble) is in talks to write Silk, which will be executive produced by Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Amy Pascal, the former head of Sony Pictures, will also exec produce Silk. Pascal had previously been developing Silk as a feature film back in 2018.
"No network or streaming service is currently attached, but sources say Amazon is in talks to acquire the project, along with other potential Marvel series based on characters Sony controls," Variety reports.
Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Cindy Moon acquired her superpowers from the same radioactive spider that bit and transformed Peter Parker into your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
And like Spidey, Silk has a Spider-Sense, can shoot webs, and possesses superhuman speed, strength, and stamina.
Cindy Moon has actually appeared in live-action before, having been portrayed by actress Tiffany Espensen as one of Peter's (Tom Holland) classmates in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War.
Silk is one of a number of Spidey-related projects in development beyond Tom Holland's next MCU outing. These Sony spin-offs including Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2, Kraven the Hunter, and Olivia Wilde's Spider-Woman. Check them all out in the slideshow below.

No, The Batman Has Not Resumed Filming Without Robert Pattinson
UPDATE 2: Contrary to British media reports, The Batman has not resumed production without its star, Robert Pattinson.
Although The Daily Mail claimed the Warners/DC film had begun shooting again, working around the recently diagnosed Pattinson, Variety reports that "people on the film team who were in contact with Pattinson are quarantining. The production is still doing contact tracing. It is unlikely that shooting will re-commence until the roughly two-week quarantine period ends."
Set construction and prop work continues on The Batman at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden.
The studio has so far not commented on Pattinson's health, only saying that an unspecified crew member tested positive for the coronavirus and that they have temporarily stopped production on The Batman.
UPDATE: The Batman crew member who was diagnosed with coronavirus is reportedly none other than the star himself, Robert Pattinson.
According to Vanity Fair, Robert Pattinson "tested positive for the coronavirus, causing filming of The Batman to be halted just days after the superhero drama resumed work at studios outside of London. Warner Bros. would not comment on any individual worker's health."
And while the studio wouldn't comment on Pattinson or any other crew member's health, WarnerMedia boss Ann Sarnoff told Deadline:
"We’re still in the middle of investigating what is the situation. We’re pausing temporarily for now until we have more information, but we have all the protocols set up to do contact tracing and hopefully get back up into production very soon."
IGN also reached out to the studio for comment. Our original report follows.

The Batman has shut down production -- again -- due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Warner Bros. announced the temporary work stoppage in a press statement revealing that a crew member had tested positive:
"A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/23/the-batman-trailer-breakdown-riddler-penguin-catwoman-and-no-more-lies-explained"]
The Batman first shut down production in England last March when industry-wide shutdowns began due to the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Director Matt Reeves disclosed that filming on The Batman was only about 25% complete at the time of the March stoppage.
Since then, The Batman made a huge splash at August's DC FanDome, revealing the movie's intense first trailer that left us wondering about its mysterious villain and the whereabouts of the Joker, while also clarifying when it's set.
Here's how you can help, and stay safe, during the coronavirus pandemic.

Star Trek: Discovery Will Introduce the Series’ First Transgender and Non-Binary Characters
Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery will feature both a transgender character and a non-binary character for the first time ever in the series' history.
CBS and Star Trek announced on Sept. 2 that the upcoming Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery will feature the series' first transgender and non-binary characters, portrayed by Ian Alexander, who uses they/them and he/him pronouns, and Blu del Barrio, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=star-trek-discoverys-redesigned-uss-enterprise-bridge&captions=true"]
"CBS All Access, ViacomCBS' subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced that season three of Star Trek: Discovery will introduce the Star Trek franchise's first non-binary and transgender characters, furthering the 'Star Trek' universe's ongoing commitment to Gene Roddenberry's original vision of celebrating diversity and inclusion," the announcement blog post reads.
Barrio will play Adira, who is "highly intelligent with a confidence and self-assurance well beyond their years." They will find a new home on the U.S.S. Discovery and form a bond with Anthony Rapp's Lt. Commander Paul Stamets and Wilson Cruz' Hugh Culber. Alexander will play Gray, who is "empathetic, warm, and eager to fulfill his lifelong dream of being a Trill host."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/09/25/is-star-trek-discovery-worth-a-streaming-subscription"]
"Star Trek has always made a mission of giving visibility to underrepresented communities because it believes in showing people that a future without division on the basis of race, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation is entirely within our reach," Discovery co-showrunner and executive producer Michelle Paradise said. "We take pride in working closely with Blue del Barrio, Ian Alexander, and Nick Adams at GLAAD to create the extraordinary characters of Adira and Gray, and bring their stories to life with empathy, understanding, empowerment and joy."
If Alexander's name sounds familiar, it's because they were recently one of the stars of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II. Alexander played Lev, one of the game's main protagonists. You can catch Alexander, Barrio, and the rest of the cast when Season 3 of Star Trek Discovery premieres on Oct. 15.

The Division 2 to Get 100-Floor Skyscraper PVE Endgame Mode
A PVE endgame mode set in a 100-floor skyscraper is coming to The Division 2 in a future update.
'The Summit' will arrive as part of The Division 2's Title Update 11 and was revealed during a State of the Game live stream, which is available to watch on Ubisoft's YouTube channel.
The Summit is a PVE mode focused on adding replayability to the endgame by offering environments that change between floors, alternating factions and new objectives, ensuring each trip through the building is different.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/03/23/the-division-2-review"]
Players are tasked with clearing all 100 floors of the occupied skyscraper, with rally points and tricky boss battles appearing on every 10th floor to gate progress. If you beat the boss on level 10, you can start from level 11 instead of going back to the start.
The Summit is free for players who own the Warlords of New York expansion, and the mode will hit The Division 2's PC test servers very soon. A cross-platform release date for the new game mode has yet to be pinned down by Ubisoft.
We reviewed The Division 2 in March 2019, scoring it an 8.5 due in part to its "great gunplay." You can read our full thoughts here.

Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead Gets a Prequel Movie and Anime Series
Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead isn't marching onto Netflix until next year, but the streamer is already chomping at the bit for more out of the franchise, as it has just been announced that a spinoff prequel movie and an anime series are now in active development.
Variety reports that Netflix has officially given the green light to the two new projects, with Shay Hatten on board to write the scripts for both the untitled movie prequel and the anime series. Matthias Schweighöfer is attached to helm and star in the international prequel, which is said to follow his character from Army of the Dead. The spinoff film will be produced by Schweighöfer and the Snyders, together with Wesley Coller and Dan Maag.
The prequel anime series, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, was also announced by Netflix as a further expansion of the franchise. Lost Vegas will chronicle the origin story of Dave Bautista's character from Snyder's Army of the Dead, tracing his and his rescue crew's activities during "the initial fall of Vegas as they confront the mysterious source of the zombie outbreak." Alongside Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick, and Ella Purnell will be reprising their upcoming roles for the anime series. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/10/28/the-10-best-horror-movies"] Snyder will direct two episodes of the upcoming anime series alongside showrunner Jay Olivia who will also helm two episodes. The Snyders will executive produce the series, together with Olivia, Hatten, and Coller. The two projects are based around Snyder's Army of the Dead, which is set to follow a group of mercenaries that "take the ultimate gamble: venturing into a quarantine zone following a zombie outbreak to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.” "I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to partner with Netflix again as we expand the Army of the Dead universe with both an international prequel, as well as exploring the visually dynamic world of animation," Snyder said in a statement. "It's been a great collaboration and we are thrilled that Netflix sees this as big of an IP as we do." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=netflix-spotlight-september-2020&captions=true"] In addition to these two new projects, Snyder is hard at work finishing up his long-fabled cut of Justice League, which will debut in four, hour-long chunks on HBO Max in 2021, with all chapters eventually being released as a film. The project has reportedly cost upwards of $30M to produce and Snyder has confirmed that there will be no reshoots with the original cast, using only previously shot footage. For your first official look at that, check out the trailer that premiered at DC FanDome last month. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Adele Ankers is a Freelance Entertainment Journalist. Harmonix’s Fuser Gets November Release Date
Harmonix's Fuser finally has a release date and it's coming on November 10.
Fuser was announced back in February as a new take on the rhythm gaming genre where, instead of focusing on hitting notes as they come down a moving track, your job is to keep the crowd excited with your musical mashups. Harmonix announced today that players will get the chance to try their hand at being a virtual DJ on November 10 when the game arrives for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. It's not clear if the game wil lcome to PS5 or Xbox Series X, or if it will be backward compatible on the new consoles.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=fuser-screenshot-gallery&captions=true"]
Oddly enough, the game is only available for preorder on Xbox and Steam and the Epic Games Store on PC. You can't preorder a PlayStation version or Nintendo Switch version at time of writing.
November 10 is close to where Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X respectively, are expected to launch. We don't technically have a release date for either console but Microsoft has said the Xbox Series X will launch in November. Perhaps Fuser will come to next-gen consoles but for now, only time will tell.
If you're looking for more Fuser content, check out our gameplay preview from May and then read about why we think Fuser is the next big step forward in music games. After that, be sure to check out the game's gameplay reveal trailer.
