IGN's God of War review declared the game a masterpiece, calling it "the most stirring and memorable game in the series." It would go on to win IGN's Game of the Year 2018 award, at which time the game's director Cory Barlog sat down with IGN to reflect on God of War's successes, development, and more. God of War saw huge PS4 sales success, and while it did not receive updates, it got several free post-launch updates, including New Game+ and Photo modes.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition Announced for PS5
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition has been announced to launch digitally on PlayStation 5 at the console's launch during Sony's new PS5 event.
According to Capcom, "In DMC5SE, players have the choice to turn on ray tracing and prioritize resolution (targeting 4K @ 30fps), or frame rate (targeting 1080p @ 60fps).
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=evil-may-cry-5-special-edition-playstation-5-showcase-screenshots&captions=true"]
"For players who prefer to allocate their horsepower to frame rates over graphics, PS5 also gives console players the ability to play their games at frame rates up to 120fps (with a compatible display, of course), which is enabled in DMC5SE when players turn on High Framerate Mode."
The new edition adds Turbo mode, so you can play at 1.2x speed, as well as Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. And, lastly, playable Vergil!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – Campaign Gameplay Revealed
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War today showed off new campaign gameplay running on PS5, and PlayStation 4 players will get exclusive access to an alpha of the game's multiplayer, starting this Friday, September 18.
Revealed at September's PS5 event, and showing the game's first mission, 'Nowhere Left to Run', set in Turkey, players take control of Alex Mason, working alongside returning hero Frank Woods and new ally Russell Adler. It's a varied mix of action and stealth, showing off the game's next-gen looks.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/16/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-gameplay-trailer"]
Initially, we see slow-motion sniper shots, a lot of gunplay, and a finisher move that involves sticking a grenade in a man's pocket and pushing him away. That's followed by a car chase, and a remote control car chase, with the action set-piece ending you might expect from a CoD game. The PS Blog confirms that this is just a portion of the full mission.
We also learned that PS4 will get an exclusive alpha test for Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer this weekend, "complete with multiple modes, maps, and a preview of the Create-a-Class and Scorestreak systems." You can pre-load the game tomorrow, September 17 at 8 am Pacific, with the alpha beginning on September 18 at 10 am Pacific and closing on September 20 at 10 am Pacific.
