Doom Eternal Update 1 Adds Empowered Demons and Kicks Off a New Event

Doom Eternal released its first update today and with it some quality of life fixes and some new content drops. Update 1's new features include the addition of Empowered Demons, a new Precious Metal Event, as well as a series of quality of life and anti-cheat improvements. Although id Software announced plans for story DLC, that’s still a ways away. Instead, Update 1 focuses mostly on events and challenges. There are now Empowered Demons, which are demons that are buffed after successfully killing Slayers. Killing these empowered demons provides more resources and bonus event XP. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=10-best-id-software-weapons&captions=true"] Another new addition with the update is the start of the Precious Metals Event which offers shiny new cosmetics that can be collected towards the MC Pain Master Collection. Event progress XP can be earned simply by playing Battlemode, Campaign, or completing weekly challenges. Battlemode also received some quality of life updates including a new death report that shows players what killed them, Prestige stars for dedicated players, fixes for latency and lag, better tutorials, and Echelon leveling for players who hit max level. Here are some other patch notes for the new update. New Features for PC

  • Denuvo Anti-Cheat uses a kernel-mode driver
  • Use of the kernel-mode driver starts when the game launches and stops when the game stops for any reason

  • Denuvo Anti-Cheat can be uninstalled at any time through the "Add or remove programs" dialog

Everything Coming to Disney+ in June 2020

Disney+ in June features some exciting docuseries like Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which will air new episodes every Friday. So far, the series has offered some unique insights into Season 1, like why it takes three guys to play Mando, and Dave Filoni's fascinating journey from Avatar: The Last Airbender to the Star Wars universe. John Wick TV Series Will Explore the Origins of Franchise’s Characters

While we had previously know that Starz and Lionsgate's planned TV series The Continental would be set in the early history of the John Wick franchise, one of the key creatives behind John Wick has now revealed that the show will also explore the origins of some of the movies' supporting characters. In a chat with Fandom (via ScreenRant), director Chad Stahelski, who has helmed all three John Wick films and is also expected to direct the series' premiere episode, revealed additional details about what differentiates The Continental from the John Wick movie franchise. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/08/22/john-wick-chapter-3-parabellum-bike-scene-choreography-exclusive-clip"] Stahelski said the TV series will utilize "a different perspective on the whole world, it’s coming at it from different characters’ points of view and what the breadth of the world is." The director said that while the John Wick movies are told over the period of a few days in the life of the title character and from his perspective, The Continental will have "a very different timeline structure and a very different perspective of character. About how deep the world goes, and not just about assassins but everything that’s included. And a lot of the origin stories are some of the characters that you see in Wick." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-best-action-movies-on-netflix-right-now&captions=true"] It was previously reported that The Continental won't air until after John Wick 4 comes out. And since that film's release date has now been postponed a whole year, it seems The Continental won't be open for business until 2022 at the earliest.

Guilty Gear Strive Delayed Until 2021 Due to Covid-19

Arc System Works announced that its upcoming fighting game, Guilty Gear Strive, has been delayed to 2021. The newest Guilty Gear fighting game was originally scheduled to be released later this year, but the developers announced on Twitter that this is no longer the case. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/11/17/6-minutes-of-direct-feed-guilty-gear-2020-gameplay"] Guilty Gear Strive producer Takeshi Yamanaka announced the delay in a tweet from the official Arc System Works Twitter account. Yamanaka cited the impact caused by COVID-19 as a reason for the delay.
“While our company’s staff and our business partners are putting in a sincere effort in dealing with the changes due to the spread of COVID-19, every aspect of our development schedule has faced delays. In addition, we have decided to set up a schedule to further improve the quality of the game responding to everyone’s help and feedback from the recent closed beta test.”
Guilty Gear Strive was announced in 2019. Rather than a sequel to Guilty Gear Xrd, Guilty Gear Strive was billed as a reboot for the franchise. The roster of announced characters currently includes Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, Faust, Potemkin, Chipp Zanuff, Zato-1, Millia Rage, Axl Low.
