The Batman Gets New 2021 Release Date

Warner Bros. has shifted several of their upcoming release dates due to delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The Batman, which is on a production hiatus until further notice, has a new release date of October 1, 2021. It was originally to have opened June 25, 2021. In addition, Warners has set new 2022 release dates for two other DC movies. The Flash has moved forward to June 3, 2022 (up a month from July 1st), while Shazam 2 was postponed from April 1, 2022 to November 4, 2022. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-delayed-movie-due-to-coronavirus-so-far&captions=true"] Notably, Warner Bros. hasn't changed the December 22, 2021 release date for Black Adam, their DC film starring Dwayne Johnson. Johnson recently took to social media to reveal that production had been delayed until August or September. Finally, Warner Bros. has pushed David Chase's The Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark from September 25, 2020 to March 12, 2021. [ignvideo width=610 height=374 url=https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/04/the-batmans-matt-reeves-reveals-the-new-batmobile-ign-now] While there is no word yet on when production on The Batman can resume -- nothing can happen until governments lift the existing social distancing rules -- director Matt Reeves has kept fans updated on his film. Reeves recently revealed how this hiatus has him thinking of making tweaks to the film's tone and he also revealed how The Batman is an "odd throwback" to a pair of classic '70s movies.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker, a Unique FPS from Homeworld Devs, Gets Early Access Date

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is "a first-person, zero-G, spaceship salvaging game," according to its developers (many of whom worked on the beloved Homeworld series). Developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Focus Home Entertainment have announced that Hardspace will launch into Early Access on June 16. Accompanying the announcement is a new behind-the-scenes video (which, thankfully, features a ton of gameplay – you can watch it above) that walks you through what Hardspace is all about; you play a blue-collar worker employed in orbit above Earth by the Lynx Corporation, a company that literally owns your DNA. That means that while you work on breaking down spaceships for salvage using your laser cutter, workplace accidents won't release you from the company. Instead, Lynx will reassemble your DNA and regenerate you. You'll have to figure out how to escape their grasp in some other way... [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=hardspace-shipbreaker-screenshots&captions=true"] PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hardspace: Shipbreaker are planned for release at a later date, though no specific timeline has been announced. For more on Hardspace, check out the reveal trailer as well as a developer-guided gameplay walkthrough. Pokémon Anime Put on Hold Due to COVID-19

The production of the Pokémon anime TV series has been temporarily shut down due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The official Twitter account for Pokémon's anime announced the hiatus on April 19. The tweet states that production has been suspended indefinitely in line with safety protocols after Japan declared a nationwide state of emergency in an effort to slow the spread of the virus. Anime News Network has confirmed that the planned schedule of new episodes will be replaced by reruns of past episodes for the foreseeable future, with the team expected to announce the anime's return at a later date. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/09/17/ash-ketchum-becomes-a-pokemon-league-champion-ign-now"] The latest season premiered in Japan with a one-hour special in November of last year. It is not yet known how the current delay may impact the English language release of the long-running series, which has been on air since 1997. The new episodes follow Ash, Pikachu and new companion, Gou, on their globetrotting adventures from the Kanto to the Galar region, which is the setting of the Pokémon Sword and Shield games. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-delayed-movie-due-to-coronavirus-so-far&captions=true"] The Pokémon anime TV series joins a growing list of movie and TV productions affected by COVID-19, including Amazon's Lord of the Rings TV series, which originally suspended production for two weeks, Netflix's The Witcher Season 2, which paused filming in London, and FX's Fargo Season 4, which was put on hiatus, and as a result, the show's April 19 premiere date was also pushed. Death Stranding Jacket Retails For Nearly $2000, Sells Out Immediately

German brand Acronym launched a custom Death Stranding jacket for almost $2000 - and it sold out almost immediately. The sleek techwear coat arrives thanks to a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Acronym's co-founder Errolson Hugh, who you may recognize from Death Stranding as the Weather Station occupant that gives the player delivery assignments. Legendary Metal Gear art director Yoji Shinkawa also worked on the jacket's design. The jacket references the in-game delivery company, with BRIDGES detailing and iconography. It also features a yellow pocket, designed to evoke Sam Porter Bridges' B.B. Pod from Death Stranding. You can see (a lot of) images of the jacket in the gallery below: [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=death-stranding-timefall-jacket-replica&captions=true"] The core design of the hardshell Gore-Tex jacket derives from the J1A-GT, an Acronym product first developed at the dawn of the Millenium. This custom version has been modified in collaboration with Kojima to ensure that elusive Death Stranding aesthetic. "'My body may be present, but my soul is on the Beach. I'm already dead," the description reads. You can't buy the jacket right now, but the Kojima Productions store is seemingly taking reservations for another shipment. If you need some convincing, Hideo Kojima himself was seen wearing the jacket after Errolson Hugh made him a personal sample: kojima death stranding jacket Kojima previously collaborated with Errolson Hugh's Acronym on outfits that appeared within the game rather than outside of it. For example, the vest that Sam Porter Bridges wears in the Private Room was designed by Errolson Hugh for use in Death Stranding. For more on Death Stranding, check out our review of the game from November 2019, where we called it "a fascinating world of supernatural sci-fi." A Death Stranding easter egg was also recently found in Valve's Half-Life: Alyx.
