Super Mario Maker 2’s Final Update Adds World Maker Mode
Super Mario Maker 2's final major update arrives on April 22, 2020, and will add a new World Maker mode, all seven Koopalings, a Super Mario Bros. 2 Mushroom, the Frog Suit, the Super Acorn from Super Mario Bros. U, the Boomerang Flower, the Cannon Box, the Propeller Box, and more.
The World Maker mode will allow players to create up to eight worlds that contain up to 40 of their courses, which can all be shared with others. Course icons can be changed and Bonus Stages are available, including the moving picture matching game.

Players can create a path, complete with Warp Pipes, bridges, hills, and more, and can place their levels on them in any order they wish.
Each World can either be Underground, Desert, Snow, Sky, Forest, Volcano, or Outer Space-themed. Furthermore, players can name their game after themselves, like the example given of "Super Ellie World."
The Super Mario Bros. 2 Mushroom will turn Mario into himself from...well...Super Mario Bros. 2. It's only available in the Super Mario Bros. style, but allows players to ride on and pick up/throw enemies as was done in SMB2.

The Frog Suit will be added to the Super Mario Bros. 3 style and makes Mario a pro at swimming and allows our favorite plumber to run along the top of water.
Super Mario World creators will be able to add the Power Balloon that causes Mario to float with "the fluffy grace that only a balloon can muster."
The Super Mario Bros. U style will add the Super Acorn, while the Super Mario 3D World style will add the Boomerang Flower, Cannon Box, Propeller Box, Red POW Box, Goomba Mask, and the Bullet Bill Mask.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/26/super-mario-maker-2-review"]
All seven Koopaling - Larry, Wendy, Morton, Lemmy, Roy, Iggy, and Ludwig - are present and have their own unique moves and can be added to any style but Super Mario 3D World.
Other items will also be added, like the Cursed Key that will have a Phanto chase the key holder, an On/Off Trampoline that can be activated with a switch, and a wind-up automaton Mechakoopa (Red ones shoot homing missiles, blue ones shoot laser beams, and at night they both gain jet engines).
Super Mario Maker 2 was released in June 2019 and, in our review, we said "Super Mario Maker 2 does nearly everything better than its already excellent predecessor, keeping the charm of a Mario game while introducing some incredible new ideas."

This latest update will bring a close to a year of updates that included the addition of Link's Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda which sort of made Super Mario Maker 2 into Zelda Dungeon Maker.

David Lynch Has ‘Zero Interest’ in the Dune Remake
The release of the first official images from this December's new Dune movie from director Denis Villeneuve had the internet buzzing last week, but there's one notable person who has "zero interest" in the film: David Lynch, the director of 1984's Dune.
"I have zero interest in Dune," Lynch said flat-out in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The director, whose short film What Did Jack Do? was recently released on Netflix, explained that making the big screen's first adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 sci-fi novel was "a total failure" for him.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=dune-how-the-movies-have-depicted-the-iconic-stillsuit-costume&captions=true"]
"Because it was a heartache for me," Lynch said. "It was a failure and I didn’t have final cut. I’ve told this story a billion times. It’s not the film I wanted to make. I like certain parts of it very much — but it was a total failure for me."
While Lynch's pricey film was a critical and commercial disappointment, Dune has garnered a cult following in the decades since. Lynch would go on to make Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and Lost Highway, just to name a few of his post-Dune projects.

Sandman Was Casting and Building Sets When Netflix Shut It Down
Fans of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman have been waiting decades to see this grand fantasy comic adapted. Like a great many film and TV projects, production on The Sandman has halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But according to Gaiman himself, the series was making clear progress before it went on hiatus.
Gaiman gave fans a brief update on his Tumblr page (via Batman-News), revealing that scripts have been written for Season 1, directors have been chosen, casting had begun and sets were in the process of being built before the hiatus. In short, it sounds like filming should commence shortly after the pandemic lets up.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=dc-extended-universe-every-upcoming-movie&captions=true"]
In response to a fan question about the current status of the series, Gaiman wrote, "It’s going really well, except it’s kind of hibernating right now until people start making TV again. The scripts for the first season are written, casting had started, directors hired, sets were being built. Everything was ready to go into production, and then we moved into a pause. As soon as the world is ready to make TV drama, Sandman will move smoothly back into being made. In the meantime, we are taking the opportunity to get the scripts as good as we can."
Netflix officially confirmed its Sandman series in June 2019, part of what was reported to be a "massive" financial deal between Warner Bros. and Netflix. The show will consist of a 10-episode initial order, plus a pilot, with Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg serving as showrunner. He'll also executive produce alongside Gaiman and David Goyer, and all three will co-write the first episode.
Here's how Netflix describes the series: "A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic--and human--mistakes he's made during his vast existence."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/04/20/the-batman-release-pushed-to-october-2021"]
There's no release date yet for The Sandman: Season 1, and given the current hiatus, we wouldn't expect the series to debut before 2021 at least. In the meantime, brush up on everything new to Netflix in April 2020, as well as our breakdown of every TV series canceled or ending in 2020.

No Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 for James Gunn
While he's still a long ways out from stepping foot on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, writer-director James Gunn has reportedly said he doesn't intend to direct a Vol. 4 in the MCU franchise.
At least that's what Gunn told a fan who inquired about it on social media, according to ComicBookMovie.
"I absolutely never said I wouldn't do a Vol. 2, as I planned to do a trilogy from the beginning if the first one worked," Gunn is quoted as saying. "I have no plans to do a [fourth]."
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/05/25/james-gunn-and-elizabeth-banks-respond-to-ign-comments"]
Separately, Gunn also hinted that a character will die in Guardians Vol. 3. When a fan asked Gunn if someone will die in Vol. 3, he simply replied "Yes," but it should be noted that it's entirely unclear from both the question and answer whether that character is a minor or a major one.
Gunn is currently in post-production on 2021's The Suicide Squad. He recently said the releases of both The Suicide Squad and Guardians Vol. 3 shouldn't be affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvel-phase-4-official-lineup&captions=true"]
The filmmaker also hinted that Guardians Vol. 3 may explore Rocket Raccoon's painful origin and that Thor: Love and Thunder takes place before Guardians Vol. 3.

Jurassic World 3: Will We See Dinosaurs in Snow?
Director Colin Trevorrow's set photo tweet from Jurassic World: Dominion has kicked geek speculation into high gear, even though the photo in question contains no shots of dinosaurs in it. Is the director teasing that his sequel will feature dinosaurs in the snow?
(It should be noted that production on Jurassic World: Dominion is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, so this set photo was taken before filming was halted on March 13.)
The image, seen below, features Trevorrow on the set of the third Jurassic World movie (the post was retweeted by the official Jurassic World account), directing a scene featuring actress Isabella Sermon as a now older Maisie Lockwood. Could this scene take place at Owen Grady's remote cabin from Fallen Kingdom?
[caption id="attachment_2339767" align="alignnone" width="720"] Colin Trevorrow (center) directing Isabella Sermon in a scene from Jurassic World: Dominion. Photo courtesy of Colin Trevorrow[/caption]
Fallen Kingdom saw the destruction of Isla Nubar and the escape of various surviving dinosaurs into the outside world. Whether Jurassic World: Dominion will actually show dinosaurs in the snow remains to be seen, the film does promise to depict dinosaur-human encounters in a variety of situations and settings new to the franchise (as Trevorrow teased in his Jurassic World short film Battle at Big Rock).
Jurassic World: Dominion will unite the current trilogy's Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy with the original trilogy's stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum (who made a cameo in Fallen Kingdom).

The film is currently scheduled for a June 11, 2021 release but that date could likely change due to the production delay.

The Elder Scrolls VI: What We Know So Far
While not much information is available for The Elder Scrolls VI yet, this article will serve as a hub that will be updated as more news comes out.
The Elder Scrolls VI has been requested by fans for a long time now, and thanks to the E3 2018 announcement, we finally have confirmation that Bethesda intends to develop it. Unfortunately, we just aren't sure when that will be. Bethesda's Todd Howard has indicated that the studio's focus will be on Starfield first and then will shift to Elder Scrolls VI, so it looks like we will have to wait just a little bit longer.
However, a job listing from Bethesda could hint that Starfield development is wrapping up and the focus could now shift to Elder Scrolls VI. But with E3 2020 canceled, and Bethesda confirming it won't be doing an online presentation, it'll likely be at least a few months before we hear more.
Even though we don't have an official release date for the Elder Scrolls VI, we do know a little bit about where it could take place, thanks to some dedicated fans. Further, we can likely expect to see some of the same races from previous games make appearances in the sixth installment of the franchise. Keep reading for more details on everything we know about Elder Scrolls VI.
When is the Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date?
At the time of writing, a release date for Elder Scrolls VI has not been announced. While the game has been confirmed by Bethesda, it seems the next installment in the franchise won't be coming anytime soon. Speaking to IGN, Bethesda's Todd Howard indicated that Elder Scrolls VI wouldn't happen until Bethesda's Starfield was released, which also doesn't have a release date at the time of writing. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/04/todd-howard-talks-starfield-elder-scrolls-6-fallout-76-terminator-and-more-ign-unfiltered-43"] Howard confirmed that the Elder Scrolls VI would not be launching on the Xbox One and PS4 console generation, indicating that it will likely see an Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 release. "We had done so many things, we were going Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and you have this Starfield game in your head and you sorta say, well, when?... We are creatives, and we have to make this game and this is the time, and so Elder Scrolls VI is gonna have to wait a little bit," said Howard. What Does Elder Scrolls 6 Gameplay Look Like?
At the time of writing, there have been no gameplay trailers or new feature announcements for Elder Scrolls VI. However, in our interview with Todd Howard, he said, "This is a game we need to design for people to play for a decade at least." He continued, "When they [the players] eventually see the game and what we have in mind, they'll understand the gap more in terms of technology and what we wanted to do."Location
At E3 2018, Bethesda showed a short teaser trailer for Elder Scrolls VI, which seems to suggest the location of the game. The teaser shows off a fog-filled valley, an old ruined fort, a city along the water's edge, and a coastline, which leads us to believe The Elder Scrolls VI location could be set in High Rock. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/06/11/the-elder-scrolls-6-teaser-e3-2018"] While this doesn't sound like much to go on, if you look at all of the locations in Tamriel, these landmarks seem to line up with the descriptions of High Rock. However, some fans also think that the game could be set in Hammerfell, which is located along the southern border of High Rock. While theories can be presented, we won't be able to officially say where the Elder Scrolls VI takes place until Bethesda reveals more information.Races
At the time of writing, there has been no announcement from Bethesda about which races will appear and be playable in Elder Scrolls VI. There were ten races in Skyrim, all of which made appearances in previous titles. It seems likely that some, if not all, of these races will also appear in Elder Scrolls VI. However, we will have to wait for more information from Bethesda before we can say for sure.More Elder Scrolls 6 News
At E3 2018, Bethesda officially announced Elder Scrolls VI with a short teaser trailer. While Bethesda was present at E3 2019, the studio said that it would not be discussing Elder Scrolls VI at its keynote. With E3 2020 canceled due to COVID-19, some developers and publishers have elected to hold their own digital conference or participate in IGN's Summer of Gaming event. However, on April 1, Bethesda's Pete Hines announced that the studio would not be holding a digital showcase in June, but promised that it had "lots of exciting things to share about our games" and looked "forward to telling you more in the coming months." In January 2019, long-time Elder Scrolls composer Jeremy Soule shared that he was "currently not involved with TES VI," as Bethesda hadn't brought him on board yet. However, Soule's noted that this could simply be because the title was far away from release and denied any rumors of "foreboding." "I would never turn my back on TES," said Soule. "I believe that my involvement would hinge on a creative decision on their part and where they want to take the franchise." In 2018, the Skyrim community began a petition to have 82-year-old YouTuber and Skyrim aficionado Shirley Curry, AKA "Skinny Grandma" as an NPC in Elder Scrolls VI. The petition collected over 50,000 signatures and Bethesda has since announced that it will include Curry in the upcoming title as an NPC.Elder Scrolls 6 Rumors
Spotted by a Redditor, Bethesda recently posted some job openings that seem to indicate that the studio is wrapping up the development of Starfield and is getting ready to start on Elder Scrolls VI. The job listing states that "Bethesda Game Studios is looking for talented programmers to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles." While this is merely speculation, it seems a bit late for the studio to be hiring developers for Starfield and could indicate that the long-awaited Elder Scrolls VI is finally in development.
