Lilo & Stitch: Disney Plus Will Reportedly Release Live-Action Remake

The Lilo & Stitch live-action adaptation is set to start filming this fall and will be set to premiere as an original film on Disney+. According to Disinsider, Lilo & Stitch is set to be a live-action/CGI hybrid film that is set to start filming in Hawaii. They also report that the original voice for Stitch, Chris Sanders, is expected to reprise the role for the film adaptation. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-upcoming-disney-live-action-remake&captions=true"] Like the original 2002 animated series, Lilo & Stitch is about a lonely girl named Lilo who discovers a dangerous alien named Stich who is on the run from intergalactic forces. Stitch disguises themselves as a dog (sorta) and hides out with Lilo as the two become friends. When Lilo & Stitch was first released in 2002, it grossed $273 million at the box office on an $80 million budget. The success led to several sequels and spinoffs including a few DVD movie sequels and an animated TV series for the Disney Channel. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/03/marvel-studios-disney-plus-big-game-spot"] There’s no design yet for what Stitch might look like, but the character will presumably be in CGI unless Disney decides to go a more practical route for the character a la Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian. Check out the gallery above for everything coming to Disney+ including WandaVision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt Kim is a reporter for IGN.

PS5 Official Website Launches, Promises Price, Games, Release Date Info Is on the Way

While the world waits for PlayStation's proper PS5 reveal event, the company has launched PlayStation 5's official website, asking fans to sign up for a newsletter while PlayStation is "not quite ready" to fully unveil its next-gen console. The PS5 website offers no new information about the upcoming console, referencing everything we already know about PS5's announced features. Specifically, the website explains that Sony's reveal of PlayStation 5's release date, price, and launch games is on the way:
"We've begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we're not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation. Sign up below to be among the first to receive updates as we announce them, including news on the PS5 release date, PS5 price and the upcoming roster of PS5 launch games."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=big-ps4-ps5-games-coming-in-2020&captions=true"] While the website promises information to come, we know it won't be at E3, as PlayStation has announced its absence from E3 2020. In regard to those "incredible features" PlayStation touts, we know PS5 will support backward compatibility and PSVR, 8K resolution, and much more. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has said the "bigger differences" of Sony's next-gen console haven't been revealed. What Sony has officially revealed of the PS5 is its logo, while third parties like Gearbox Publishing have confirmed Godfall for Sony's next-gen system. While we haven't heard about specific first-party titles yet, other companies like Ubisoft and EA have spoken about games planned broadly for next-gen consoles like PS5. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/08/ps5-news-rumors-and-predictions-beyond-episode-625"] Otherwise, our information has come from alleged leaks, such as the supposed specs of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and photos of the alleged PS5 devkit. Chris Pratt Returns to TV in New Series, The Terminal List

Chris Pratt, who's ruled the box office with four appearances as Star-Lord in the MCU and as Raptor wrangler Owen Grady in two (soon to be three) Jurassic World films, is set to star in his first regular TV role since playing Andy on NBC's Parks and Recreation. It was announced that Pratt and director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) are developing The Terminal List with MRC Television (Ozark, House of Cards), with Fuqua set to direct and executive produce the series and Pratt intended to star and executive produce. As described in the press release, The Terminal List is a "conspiracy thriller that combines elevated action with deep psychological questions about the cost of pushing our nation’s highest trained operators too far." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=59-movies-to-geek-out-over-in-2020&captions=true"] The series will center on Pratt's Lieutenant Commander James Reece, who finds his entire platoon of Navy SEALs ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission. When Reece returns home, he's bombarded with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him. Pratt and Fuqua worked together previously on 2016's The Magnificent Seven remake, where Fuqua directed and Pratt starred alongside Training Day's Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The Terminal List is based on the 2018 novel by Jack Carr. David DiGilio will write the series and executive produce. Indiana Jones 5: Harrison Ford Still Returning for Sequel

While things have been quiet on the Indiana Jones 5 front lately, fans shouldn't worry about the sequel falling into development hell. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed the sequel is still in active development and Harrison Ford is still set to reprise his iconic role. As reported by Slashfilm, Kennedy gave an update on Indy 5 on the BAFTA red carpet. “We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be and then we’ll be ready to go,” Kennedy told a BBC reporter. “Harrison Ford will be involved, yeah. It’s not a reboot; it’s a continuation. He can’t wait.” [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/07/10/indiana-jones-5-release-date-pushed-back"] This confirms earlier reports that the next Indiana Jones movie is a sequel, not a reboot, and that Ford will remain in the lead role. In fact, Ford has previously been adamant no one else can play Indiana Jones but him, insisting, "When I'm gone, he's gone." Unfortunately, Ford's commitment to the role hasn't prevented Indy 5 from experiencing multiple delays. Disney previously announced a July 10, 2020 release date for the sequel, and at one point production was expected to begin in April 2019. However, Disney then pushed back the release date a full year to July 9, 2021, with Solo: A Star Wars Story's Jon Kasdan taking over the script from original writer David Koepp. Even that release date is looking increasingly unlikely now. It appears Disney is still trying to perfect the script before Ford finally reunites with director Steven Spielberg. Given the lukewarm critical reception to 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the likelihood that Indiana Jones 5 will be Ford's last, we can't blame Disney for being cautious. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-best-movies-of-the-decade-2010-2019&captions=true"] Ford's next big-screen appearance will be in 20th Century Studios' remake of The Call of the Wild. That remake is one of 59 movies we're looking forward to in 2020. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Jesse is a mild-mannered staff writer for IGN. Apex Legends Season 4 Is Now Live

Apex Legends Season 4 is now live. The next season in Respawn’s battle royale game introduces a new character, a new weapon, and changes up the map once again to add new obstacles and dangers.

What’s New in Apex Legends Season 4?

Respawn began teasing the fourth season of Apex Legends by revealing a supposed new character named Forge. This was a misdirect however as, during the official “reveal” for Forge, the character was murdered by the season’s true new character, Revenant. Revenant is the newest champion to join the Apex Legends tournament. The character is a robotic assassin out for revenge. You can check out IGN’s full Apex Legends lore explainer in the video below. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/25/apex-legends-season-4-lore-and-gameplay-breakdown"] Other new additions to the season include the new Sentinel bolt-action sniper rifle and map changes that added the Hammon Robotics Planet Harvester, new lava rivers in Capitol City, and a Survey Camp between Epicenter and Skyhook that features a small armory. There is also a new season Battle Pass that adds 100 new levels and new rewards like Legendary skins, Apex Packs, and more. Netflix’s Castlevania Season 3 Release Date Set for March 5

The third season of Netflix's Castlevania animated series is coming soon. Today Netflix tweeted a new poster and an official release date for the third season, which arrives on Thursday, March 5. Check out this new poster below: EP8zs7EVUAAgul2 Netflix originally renewed Castlevania for a third season in October 2018, days after Season 2 debut on the streaming service. Check out our review of Castlevania: Season 2 to see why we called it "the king of video game adaptations." This news comes a few months after Netflix Nordic tweeted and deleted a message indicating Season 3 would be released in early 2020. While that tweet appears to have been in error, it turns out it was technically correct. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=castlevania-season-2-gallery&captions=true"] The plot of Season 3 remains under wraps for now, though the poster spotlights returning heroes Alucard (James Callis), Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) and Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) and indicates Carmilla (Jaime Murray) will replace Dracula as the series' main antagonist. The poster also features a new character who could be Rinaldo Gandolfi, an alchemist introduced in the game Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Executive producer Adi Shankar is also developing a Devil May Cry animated series intended to coexist with Castlevania as part of the shared "bootleg multiverse." Hopefully we may see some clues as to how the two shows will fit together in Season 3. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/10/24/5-castlevania-stories-if-you-like-the-netflix-series"] For now, check out our past interviews with Shankar to learn how the series might adapt Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and how it explores the tragedy of Dracula. Saints Row 4: Re-Elected Officially Announced for Switch

Saints Row 4 : Re-Elected, the curren-gen port of the 2013 Superhero-President-Sandbox game, has been announced for Switch by Deep Silver. The new release, which will launch in both physical and digital formats on Nintendo Switch, will land on March 27 and include 25 pieces of DLC as well as the main game. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2015/01/19/saints-row-4-re-elected-review"] Included among that huge pile of DLC are the two major story expansions, Enter The Dominatrix and How The Saints Save Christmas, as well as content packs such as the Dubstep Gun (Remix) pack and the Commander-In-Chief pack, which add new weapons and outfits to the game. [poilib element="commerceCta" json="%7B%22image%22%3A%7B%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fassets1.ignimgs.com%2F2020%2F02%2F04%2Fsaints-row-iv-reelected1580837025701.jpg%22%2C%22styleUrl%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fassets1.ignimgs.com%2F2020%2F02%2F04%2Fsaints-row-iv-reelected1580837025701_%7Bsize%7D.jpg%22%2C%22id%22%3A%225e39a8a7e4b035b46686dee8%22%7D%2C%22url%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fr.zdbb.net%2Fu%2Fbn95%22%2C%22title%22%3A%22Saints%20Row%204%3A%20Re-Elected%20(Switch)%22%2C%22store%22%3A%22Amazon%22%2C%22additionalInfo%22%3A%22%22%2C%22ourPick%22%3Afalse%7D"] As well as the main campaign, which sees your Saint take on the role as the President of the United States AND gain superhuman powers while also fending off an alien invasion, other key elements make their way to the Switch port, including an improved version of the drop-in, drop-out co-op the series is known for. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="legacyId=20024000&captions=true"] Our review of the original Saints Row 4 awarded the game a 7.3, noting that the game feels like “enabling god-like cheat codes in Saints Row The Third and going nuts,” while our Re-Elected updated review pushed that score up to 7.8. Our own Jeremy Azevedo also argues that Saints Row 4 is the best sandbox game of all time. If you agree with him, then this Switch port is likely made for you. Fast and Furious 9 Director Explains Why Han Is Back

Fast and Furious 9 director, Justin Lin, has explained why he’s acting on the popular #JusticeForHan fan campaign and bringing back character Han Lue from the dead. The latest trailer for Fast 9 revealed the shocking return of Han, who was seemingly killed in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Lin has decided to bring the character back to set certain things straight. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/02/f9-fast-and-furious-9-big-game-spot"] “Han means so much to me because he was a character before Fast & Furious,” Lin told Total Film magazine. Han was a character in Better Luck Tomorrow, a film Lin worked on before the Fast movies. It was at a 15th anniversary screening of that movie where Lin learned about the #JusticeForHan hashtag campaign. “Somebody asked me about Han and [Deckard] Shaw,” says Lin. “I was like: ‘Wait, what? Shaw is at the barbecue in 8?’ [laughs] Really, I was so confused. One of the big reasons to come back was I felt like we needed to correct something.” Played by Sung Kang, Han was a part of Fast 6 due to the film being set before Tokyo Drift. That story revealed that Han was killed by Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, who was seen looking pretty cosy at Dom’s barbecue at the end of Fast 8. Many fans dislike that Shaw has become close with the crew considering his role in Han’s death, and so Fast 9 will hopefully set the score right. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=f9-character-posters&captions=true"] You can check out the teaser poster for F9, as well as the first trailer. Don’t expect to get any answers about Han until the film opens, though, as its being kept a closely guarded secret. Get a First Look at Anthony Mackie in Altered Carbon Season 2

Altered Carbon Season 2, produced by Skydance, is needlecasting its way back to Netflix on February 27, 2020, continuing the cyberpunk adventures of Takeshi Kovacs - only this time, he's wearing an Anthony Mackie Sleeve instead of the Joel Kinnaman edition we met in Season 1. If you can't wait for the premiere, you're in luck - IGN has an exclusive first look at Mackie's debut as Kovacs in the video below: [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/04/altered-carbon-season-2-exclusive-first-look-at-anthony-mackie-as-takeshi-kovacs"] Back in Season 1, we learned that Sleeves can be upgraded with unique traits that can make them more proficient in combat (if you have the cash and connections, anyway). Judging by the first-look teaser trailer above, it appears that Mackie's Takeshi has the ability to call his guns to his hands at will, which we're betting will come in handy, given all the trouble he seems to get himself into. Mackie himself is no stranger to action, having been a mainstay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, and he'll soon star in the upcoming The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, which is set to debut on Disney+ in August. Here's how Netflix describes Season 2 of Altered Carbon: "Season 2 finds Takeshi Kovacs (Anthony Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries-old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs finds himself recruited back to his home planet of Harlan’s World with the promise of finding Quell. Haunted by his past and responsible for investigating a series of brutal murders, Kovacs is stunned to discover his new mission to solve the crime and his pursuit to find Quell are one and the same. With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?" We also have exclusive images from Season 2 featuring more of Mackie as Takeshi Kovacs, Chris Conner as Poe, and new cast addition Simone Missick as Trepp, in the gallery below: [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=altered-carbon-season-2-gallery&captions=true"]  Other prominent characters featured in the teaser are the original Kovacs, played by Will Yun Lee; and Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry) herself. If you're in need of a refresher, Falconer is Takeshi's centuries-old former lover, who also created Stack technology and was the leader of the rebellion that sought to end the reign of the Meths -- wealthy individuals who can live forever by re-sleeving into new bodies. We'll see if Tak and Quell's paths are destined to cross again when Altered Carbon returns on February 27. [poilib element="accentDivider"] David Griffin still watches DuckTales in his pajamas with a cereal bowl in hand. He's also the TV Editor for IGN. Say hi on Twitter.
