Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch Preorders in North America Not Impacted by Coronavirus
Update:
Nintendo of America has confirmed that the manufacturing of some Nintendo products meant for the Japanese market have been impacted by the outbreak of the coronavirus. Nintendo does not anticipate a "significant impact" on the broader global supply chain, including in North America and Europe.
Preorders have also not been affected by the outbreak, meaning preorders on Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the Switch special edition are likely still on schedule. here's Nintendo's full statement below:
We can confirm that the manufacturing of some Nintendo products for the Japanese market has been delayed due to the impact of 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak. Nintendo does not anticipate a significant impact on our broader global supply chain for systems and accessories at this time, and product sales in North America and Europe, including preorders, are not affected. We would like to express our concern and support for all those affected by the coronavirus during this challenging time.Original Story Follows: [poilib element="accentDivider"] The coronavirus outbreak in China is impacting Nintendo in regards to their shipment of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch collector’s edition, along with other Nintendo products. According to a post published on the official Japanese Nintendo website, the company announced, “Due to the impact of the new outbreak of coronavirus infection… the impact on the shipment of Nintendo Switch Collectible Animal Crossing Set is expected to be inevitable.” IGN was able to independently verify the translation. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=animal-crossing-new-horizons-limited-edition-nintendo-switch&captions=true"] At this time, Nintendo of Japan is saying only the reservation start date for the Animal Crossing collector’s edition has been affected, not the release date of the game itself nor downloadable software. The pre-order date for the set has been changed from February 8 to “to be determined.” A second notice on the Nintendo website announced the outbreak is expected to create production and shipment delays for standard Nintendo Switch and Joy-Cons as well as delay shipments of the sold-out Ring Fit Adventure. Nintendo announced the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch edition last week for North America and there’s been no word on whether those shipments have been impacted. Pre-orders have already gone up on most major retailers. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/02/animal-crossing-new-horizons-deserted-island-getaway-package-primer-trailer"] There have been discussions on whether the outbreak will impact orders for the Animal Crossing Switch in North America, but considering the release date hasn’t been affected yet for Japanese customers it’s very much a wait-and-see situation. There will be new Main Scenario Quests, a new Chronicles of a New Era Quest called “The Sorrow of Werlyt" and new Beast Tribe Quests meant for Disciples of the Land classes.
The next Eden raid will be featured in this update with new battles across normal and savage difficulties. Titled "Eden's Verse" the raid will introduce Gaia, who was created by Final Fantasy character designer and Kingdom Hearts director, Tetsuya Nomura.

The trailer briefly shows off ocean fishing, which is a new feature where players can travel on a boat to earn XP based on how many fish are caught on their voyage.
The press release also said the patch will bring unspecified tweaks to, "Jobs, PvP Actions and New Game+ alongside several Crafter and Gatherer updates." Gatherer content will be featured in the Diadem as well as new high-level crafting challenges and a new ranking system.

Final Fantasy XIV has had a notable turnaround. The game launched in 2010 for PC with IGN's review calling out the game's "interface and performance issues" and "too little interesting structured content to chew on."
Jump to nine years later and A Realm Reborn's third expansion, Shadowbringers, is tied with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Disco Elysium as the second highest-rated new game of 2019 on Metacritic. IGN's review says that Shadowbringers "has only further solidified XIV's status as one of the greatest Final Fantasy games ever made."
Final Fantasy XIV is also being developed into a live-action TV series from the production company behind The Witcher and the director of the game wants to bring FFXIV to PlayStation 5.

Ubisoft Confirms Five AAA Games Planned for Release in Late 2020, Early 2021
Ubisoft will release five new AAA games in 2020-2021, with three of them getting released by the end of this year and two being released in early 2021. And none of them will be Beyond Good and Evil 2.
“We have evolved our organizational structure in recent months in order to strengthen our focus on high-potential titles, and we are very excited about the idea of releasing five new AAA games in 2020-21,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot during the Q3 FY2020 investor call.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=all-the-big-games-coming-in-2020&captions=true"]
During the Q&A portion, Guillemot followed up on that statement by confirming, at the least, that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is not one of the five planned AAA games set to be released this year.
Ubisoft previously announced, then delayed a slate of AAA games including Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, Gods and Monsters, and there have been reports that Ubisoft is working on a new Assassin’s Creed game supposedly based on Vikings.
That’s four games that could fit neatly into Ubisoft’s AAA plans for the year. And there are also projects like Skull and Bones that have been delayed indefinitely which could complete the release calendar.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/10/watch-dogs-legion-preview"]
As for when players will see any combination of these games, Guillemot revealed that three of the five games will be released in Q3 FY2021, or the period between October to December 2020, and the other two games releasing between January and March 2021.

Minecraft Nether Update Adds New Biomes
Mojang's most recent update for Minecraft is a big one, adding in three new Nether biomes — the Crimson Forest, Soulsand Valley, and the Warped Forest.
Each of these new Minecraft Nether biomes contain a new material called Netherite, which is refined from Ancient Debris. Players can use Netherite to upgrade their diamond gear to make it more powerful and last longer, among other things.
