Lucifer Season 6: Netflix Reportedly in Talks to Extend Show Beyond S5

Netflix has reportedly entered talks with Warner Bros. to extend Lucifer beyond its planned fifth and "final" season. According to TVLine, Netflix is considering resurrecting the supernatural drama for a sixth season despite it being previously announced that the devil's reign would be coming to an end after Season 5. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/01/new-to-netflix-for-february-2020"] The fifth season of Lucifer was originally set to be a 10-episode run, but Netflix significantly expanded the episode count while the show was still in production, ordering six additional episodes to take the grand total up to 16 episodes, which are set to be split across two parts on the streamer. This expansion of episodes served as a potential indication that the writers required a little more scope to tell the story and wrap up all of the loose threads from the fourth season of the series, loosely based on Neil Gaiman's depiction of the Devil from the Sandman comic book and its spinoff Lucifer. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-best-netflix-original-movies-and-tv-shows&captions=true"] However, it now seems that Netflix might be swooping in to save the fallen angel with a Season 6 renewal, offering the team the opportunity to expand the story even further. This is great news for Lucifans who have been campaigning for the show's continuation ever since it was cancelled by Fox after just three seasons on the air. In our review of Lucifer Season 4, we called it "Great" saying "Netflix's Lucifer has a shorter season and a tighter arc, but the campy show retains the humor and naughtiness we love." Control Dev Remedy Has New Game in the Works Alongside Multiplayer Project

It seems that Remedy Entertainment has a few more tricks up its sleeve, including a new, as-of-yet unannounced game. According to the company's most recent financial report, the Control developers are working on several projects at varying stages of completion. One of which is nearing release: an expansion for Control, titled The Foundation, is set to launch on March 26, with another expansion later in the year (which may tie into Remedy's Alan Wake series). The second is the single-player portion of CrossfireX, the sequel to the 2007 mutliplayer shooter from Smilegate, who is developing the multiplayer aspect of the game. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/11/15/crossfirex-brings-a-beloved-worldwide-franchise-to-a-new-audience-ign-live-x019"] Remedy's other two projects are shrouded in a bit more secrecy and still technically in the pre-pre-production phase. One has yet to be announced in any formal capacity, but is "proceeding well" and has a 20-person team working on it. The other project, which launched in 2018 and is known only as Vanguard, has a smaller team (about 15 people) and according to Remedy operates "with a startup mentality within the stability of a large company." [caption id="attachment_230310" align="alignnone" width="720"]remedyprojects A slide from Remedy's recent investor presentation.[/caption] The Vanguard team is focused on creating "a long-lasting service-based multiplayer game combined with selected Remedy features." What, exactly, those features are remain unknown, but the game is currently running on a playable internal build, according to Remedy, and they remain focused on creating "longer-lasting games in engaging worlds." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=control-expeditions-trailer-screenshots&captions=true"] What would you want to see in a Remedy-made multiplayer game? We're super on board with the idea (we called Control our Game of the Year, after all), but let us know what you think in the comments! Marvel’s Avengers Villain Seemingly Leaked In Achievement List

Marvel’s Avengers may have been pushed back to September, but we potentially just learned a whole lot of new details about it – including a major villain – thanks to what is seemingly its full Xbox One achievement list.

The list was posted on Exophase, but has not been confirmed as authentic by Square Enix as of yet. It’s worth noting that Exophase does typically post accurate achievement lists ahead of game launches, though this is noticeably much earlier than usual.

Spoiler warning! From here on out we are going to dig into the details of what’s on this list, including some big surprises and unrevealed info. You’ve been warned!

[poilib element="accentDivider"]

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/13/marvels-avengers-embrace-your-powers-trailer"]

Still here? Okay, Spoiler time:

The most notable reveal is here is that Marvel villain MODOK will indeed be in the fray – something we previously assumed based on AIM’s involvement. The last achievement on the list is called “New Girl Makes Good” with the conditions “Defeat MODOK and the Kree.”

“New Girl” almost certainly refers to protagonist Kamala Khan, AKA Ms. Marvel, and it’s interesting to see MODOK may be working with the Kree as well – though, again, not entirely surprising given the Terrigen connection shown in its earlier reveals.

There are also references to rescuing Inhumans, which we assume extends beyond just Ms. Marvel, as well as going to an AIM space station. Also, and this really shouldn’t come as a shock, but one achievement is earned for rescuing Captain America, who is shown supposedly dying in the opening moments of the game. But, honestly, of course he didn't.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvels-avengers-earths-mightiest-collectors-edition-deluxe-edition-and-standard-edition&captions=true"]

And, if I may indulge in some wild speculation, there could also be a possible X-Men connection here too. One achievement says “discover the location of the Chimera,” while another says “recover the Phoenix Protocols.” It could be entirely unrelated, but the fact that both Chimera and Phoenix are names of X-Men characters stands out.

We’ve reached out to Square Enix for comment, but otherwise we'll have to wait until September 4 to find out for sure. In the meantime, the details of Marvel’s Avengers’ special editions were recently revealed, including a foot tall Captain America statue and early access to the game. The Witcher: Fan Favorite Character From Witcher 3 Reportedly Coming in S2

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Netflix's The Witcher. This article also mentions storylines from The Witcher novels and game series. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/12/27/the-witcher-season-1-review"] [poilib element="accentDivider"] Netflix's The Witcher is reportedly set to feature two new witchers, Lambert and Coën, in the upcoming second season of the fantasy drama. Redanian Intelligence reports that Lambert will be played by Peaky Blinders actor Paul Bullion, while Strike Back star Yasen Atour will be stepping up to portray Coën. It is expected that these two characters will join Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia for three episodes. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/12/20/the-witcher-game-vs-netflix-scene-comparison"] Lambert should be a familiar name to fans of CD Projekt Red's Witcher video game series, as he played a significant role in the main campaign of the third installment. He frequently crossed paths with Geralt of Rivia, who he seemed to hold a deep-seated resentment towards in spite of their similar talents. Coën, on the other hand, played an important part in Blood of Elves, the novel in Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher saga, as he famously helped Lambert and Geralt to train Ciri in the art of sword combat at the ruined fortress of Kaer Morhen, which possibly indicates how these characters stories will intersect in Season 2. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-witcher-explaining-all-the-characters-and-who-plays-them&captions=true"] These two characters join newcomer Violet, "a young girl whose playful and whimsical demeanour is a front for a smarter and more sadistic character," played by Dolittle actress Carmel Laniado. For more on Season 2, read about the big "mistake" of The Witcher: Season 1 that will be rectified in the upcoming episodes, check out what showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich had to say about the fantasy elements in the next season, and find out why Netflix ultimately decided to adapt the books and not the games. New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale Details Reportedly Leaked

New details have leaked for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's rumored battle royale mode called Warzone, including that there will be a version of Apex Legends' "ping" system. As reported by GameSpot, Twitter user @CaptainBadfoot claimed they were playing the latest Call of Duty on the new Rust map when they were randomly put into this new Warzone lobby, complete with a "training" mode and other menus that hint at what's to come. Screenshot_2020-02-14 (2) Dean Carter on Twitter TheGamingRevoYT https t co HuXUYJyJ0F Twitter Some of @CaptainBadfoot's tweets are no longer live, but a video from Warzone reportedly including the previously mentioned "ping" feature from Apex Legends. There were also screens that confirmed a "Trios" variant of Warzone will be included that would have three players working together. There will also supposedly be options for solo, doubles, and quads. Vehicles will also play a role in Warzone, with one image showing "ATVs, SUVs, helicopters, cargo trucks, and tactical rovers." There will also be a revive system and "supply stations" that can be bought and air-dropped into matched, according to @CaptainBadfoot. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/12/is-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-getting-a-battle-royale-mode-ign-daily-fix"] This is hardly the first rumor of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale mode, as previous leaks have shown the new map would contain both Ground War maps and Spec Ops maps within its boundaries. Furthermore, it will allow for up to 200 players to compete for the victory. A new feature, "Gulag", was also leaked that allows eliminated players to battle others 1v1, with the victor getting to respawn. Other rumors indicate the battle royale mode will live inside Modern Warfare, but will also be released as a free-to-play standalone game. The recent launch of Season 2 only further hints at this new mode, as the opening cinematic features players jumping from a plane, and the Modern Warfare title screen now has a section titled "Classified."
