Nintendo Sold Over 800K Switches Over Thanksgiving Week in the U.S.
With the holiday season just getting underway, Nintendo Switch sales are already taking off, with over 800,000 Switches sold in the U.S. over the Thanksgiving holiday. Undoubtedly due to Black Friday and Cyber Monday Nintendo deals, total Switch sales in the Americas have now reached 17.5 million.
Thanksgiving week marks the best week of sales ever for the Nintendo Switch in the U.S. The increase in sales was likely due, in part, to the recent release of the Switch Lite, which is smaller than the original Switch and cannot be docked.

FIFA 20 Removes Dutch Player After Nazi Comment
EA sports removed famous Dutch soccer player Marco van Basten from FIFA Ultimate Teams in FIFA 20 after the former Dutch national team captain said “Sieg Heil” during a recent video interview.
Van Basten is currently an analyst for Fox Sports and during an interview between Fox Sports and a manager for a German Soccer team, Van Basten can be heard saying “Sieg Heil” as the manager leaves the screen.
He said he was mocking the German accent of the reporter, and Fox Sports has suspended Van Basten for a week following the incident. EA Sports also announced the removal of Van Basten’s likeness from FIFA 20 from an in-game message that pops up when players log in.
Abrams: Zorii Bliss Actress Loved Helmet So Much He Never Saw Her
Keri Russell, who plays the new character Zorii Bliss in Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker, never took her helmet off for the first two days of filming, according to writer/director J.J. Abrams.
In a press conference held Wednesday morning for The Rise of Skywalker, the cast, Abrams, and some crew commented on what the experience of making the film was like for them. When it came time to address Keri Russell’s new, mysterious character, Zorii Bliss, Russell was quick to profess her love for the character’s mask.
Xbox Report: Cheaper, Disc-less Scarlett Still In The Works
When reports were first coming out about Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox console, there was mention of a cheaper, disc-less Xbox that would be released alongside a more traditional console. Microsoft hasn’t mentioned this console in recent months, but a new report claims that plans for the cheaper console still exists.
Kotaku is reporting that a lower-cost, disc-less version of Project Scarlett, which is codenamed “Lockhart” is still in development according to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans. The console will be part of a family of devices that also includes Scarlett which will have a disc drive.
Gwent Console Version Support Discontinuing Next Week
Console support for Gwent, the card battling game set in the Witcher universe, is being discontinued by developer CD Projekt Red, the company announced in a blog post.
Starting December 9, players who used a console to play Gwent will be able to go to a webpage that will allow them to copy their in-game progress from console over to PC or mobile, using a new or existing GOG account. CDPR added that because the company does not support the merging of accounts, players will not be able to copy the progress of their Gwent account over to a GOG account that already has Gwent progression on it.
The Mandalorian Ep. 7 Includes Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker Sneak Peek
It has been confirmed that a special "sneak peek" of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be packaged alongside Episode 7 of The Mandalorian.
According to a press release from Disney, the penultimate episode of the Star Wars spinoff series will be released on Wednesday, December 18, instead of its usual Friday premiere slot, and will allow this exclusive look at Episode IX to air ahead of the release of Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters on Friday, December 20.
Netflix’s Locke and Key: Release Date and First-Look Poster Revealed
Nextflix has revealed the release date for its TV adaptation of horror comic Locke and Key.
More information on Netflix’s Locke and Key series has been unlocked today through the show’s debut poster. It reveals that the series will be available to stream on February 7, 2020.
The poster itself is appropriately macabre showing a key entering a keyhole etched into the flesh on the back of a woman’s neck. The series has been developed for the screen by Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill.
The Rise of Skywalker Content Is Coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2
Star Wars Battlefront II will soon be getting Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker content and a new Celebration Edition that includes all past and upcoming free game updates and a ton of new customization options.
Revealed by EA, Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition will be released digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $39.99 USD on December 5, 2019.
