Gotham City Comes Alive Thanks to Incredible Batman Statues
Half the fun of NYCC is checking out all the amazing new toys and collectibles on display. DC Collectibles' booth doesn't disappoint, especially if you like your collection heavy on all things Batman.
Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at what DC is showing off this week (photos by Josh Du).
DC is placing a lot of focus on the long-running Batman: Black & White statue line, which makes sense given that the upcoming Todd McFarlane-inspired statue will be the 100th in the series. DC's display features a greatest hits lineup of classic B&W statues along with a closer look at the aforementioned McFarlane piece and the debut of a new Jim Lee-inspired piece.
The Grudge Remake Debuts Footage at NYCC
The cast of The Grudge remake - Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye, and Andrea Riseborough - were on hand at New York Comic Con 2019 to promote the R-rated horror reboot alongside writer/director Nicolas Pesce and executive producer Sam Raimi.
The panel - which was moderated by IGN's Terri Schwartz - gave NYCC attendees a first look at the new iteration of the franchise, which takes place in the same continuity as the American Grudge films that kicked off with the 2004 movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. The series is based on the Japanese horror franchise Ju-On, created by Takashi Shimizu.
The new film stars Riseborough as small-town cop investigating a mysterious case that leads her to a cursed house. As you may remember from the earlier films, The Grudge features a curse that is enacted when someone dies in the grip of rage, and takes hold of a particular place and "infects" anyone who enters, cursing them with a violent death.
Randy Pitchford ‘Exonerated’ In Legal Battle With Ex-Gearbox Lawyer
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has settled the legal dispute between him and a former Gearbox legal counsel. According to a new report, the two have agreed to a settlement while Pitchford has been "exonerated" from all allegations against him.
In a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the legal battle between Pitchford and former Gearbox legal counsel Wade Callender that began in December 2018 has reached its conclusion. The decision was discovered in a filing to the Dallas County (Texas) district court on Thursday.
HTC Vive Cosmos Hands-On Impressions
Although the HTC Vive Cosmos was announced at January 2019 during CES, the company only recently announced that the VR headset would begin shipping on October 3rd for $699. More importantly, we only got a drip-feed of information about the headset while it was hidden behind closed doors, but now we’re finally getting our hands on it.
The first thing you might notice about the Vive Cosmos is wow–it looks good. HTC has seriously stepped up its game with an eye-catching metallic blue paint job and a flashy geometric mesh front facia. This is a good change as HTC hasn’t been known for producing the most aesthetically pleasing hardware: that honor has previously gone to the simply streamlined and fabric-lined Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest.
Why Joker Doesn’t Have a Post-Credits Scene
A big question going into Joker for moviegoers is "does Joker have an after-credits scene?" The simple answer is no, Joker does not have an end-credits scene, and director and co-writer, Todd Phillips, spoke to GamesRadar and explained why it was excluded from the film.
"The idea of a post-credits scene in this movie would seem wrong, and a little too light for me," Phillips said.
"That wouldn't have been something we did. But Joaquin
said it would be funny to put bloopers alongside the names like they did in the old days," he said.

Is Jared Leto’s Joker in Birds of Prey?
Margot Robbie is back as Harley Quinn and she’s dealing with her breakup with the Joker the way anyone would: by getting a haircut! In 2016’s Suicide Squad, you’ll recall how her transformation into Harley Quinn was all thanks to the Joker, so it makes sense that she’d want to sever ties with that part of herself, literally.

After a successful awards-season run for Black Panther, Disney is back at it again for Avengers: Endgame.
According to Disney's For Your Consideration website, the studio is pushing Endgame in 13 different categories. Notably, Disney is not pushing any of the actors for awards — previously, Robert Downey Jr. had been praised and was rumored to have a large push for his performance in the final Avengers installment.
Last year, the studio tried to push several Black Panther cast members for acting categories, including Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o, but was unsuccessful in its attempts.
