Star Wars Toy Designer Addresses Safety Hazards of Rey’s New Folding Lightsaber
When the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker showed off a cloaked Rey brandishing a new folding, double-bladed lightsaber, it instantly raised a lot of questions. Many fans asked whether it meant Rey had gone to the Dark Side or if it was merely some kind of Force illusion. But for Lucasfilm senior manager of product development Chris Dern, the main question was how his team was going to recreate that collapsing lightsaber as a toy that wouldn’t become a mousetrap for kids’ fingers.
If you need a refresher, check out the trailer featuring the reveal of Rey's new double-bladed saber below:
Hitman Dev IO Interactive Is Making a New Game With Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. Interactive and IO Interactive are teaming up together once more to make a video game, but it seems that it won't star Agent 47.
The publisher and developer worked together on 2018's Hitman 2 after IO split from previous publisher Square Enix. The two companies have now announced a "new console and PC game experience" that seems to be separate from what they've previously created.
While they're keeping tight-lipped on what exactly is in the works, we do know that IO Interactive's two studios in Copenhagen and Malmö will be developing the game. IO Interactive's CEO, Hakan Abrak, said in a press release that the teams are currently staffing up to begin development in earnest.
Steam Brings Local Multiplayer Games Online With ‘Remote Play Together’
A new feature called 'Remote Play Together' is heading to Steam, which will turn local multiplayer games into online experiences.
Perhaps the biggest boon to players is the fact that, like a traditional local couch gaming experience, the feature means you can enjoy a friend's game even if you don't own it yourself.
Remote Play works by one player inviting a friend to join their local multiplayer game via the Steam Overlay. If their pal accepts the invitation, the game is run through the host's computer and they begin playing together. The host player handles all the processing, while their friends hook in with their connection, controllers, and microphone. The game doesn't need to already exist in the friend's Steam library.

How Riverdale Said Goodbye to Luke Perry
This interview contains spoilers for Riverdale's Season 4 premiere, "In Memoriam."
Following the tragic death of Luke Perry earlier this year, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa faced the painful task of having to write his character, Fred Andrews, off the CW drama while also paying tribute to the actor in the Season 4 premiere, “In Memoriam.” During a screening for the episode, Aguirre-Sacasa told reporters how the emotional story came together.
SAYING GOODBYE
In an episode sure to bring a few tears to viewers’ eyes, "In Memoriam" clearly reflects the cast and creative team's real-life love for Perry. Aguirre-Sacasa said the writers purposefully chose not to address Perry’s death during the third season, preferring to take their time to craft a story worthy of Fred Andrews and Perry’s legacy: “Very early on we landed on the idea that Fred should have a heroic death and that that would be impactful for Archie and it felt like that's a way that Fred could have gone.”
