WWE 2K20 is a Sublime Mix of Stellar Stories and Slasher Movies

IGN attended the WWE 2K20 hands-in event in Las Vegas on Friday, October 11.

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Japanese developer Yuke’s is no longer developing WWE wrestling games for 2K. Visual Concepts, which has served as a co-developer since WWE 2K14, has fully taken the reins with WWE 2K20, and in a staggeringly brief window of time it's put its stalwart and surreal stamp on the series.

With every passing year, these games get closer to incorporating everything that makes a wrestling match special. The intangibles that make the business all-but inexplainable to non-fans. The bizarre, amazing artistry that goes into telling a story between those ropes (and sometimes backstage, whilst brawling). And yes, WWE 2K20 marks a significant evolution with regards to the action.

Martin Scorsese Says ‘Cinemas Need to Step Up’ in On-Going MCU Debate

Martin Scorsese has reaffirmed his position on Marvel movies, offering an update that shifts responsibility onto cinemas.

During a press conference for The Irishman at the BFI London Film Festival on Sunday, the veteran filmmaker reiterated his original remarks about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating once more that these types of films are "not cinema."

"The value of a film that's like a theme park film, for example, the Marvel-type pictures where the theaters become amusement parks, that's a different experience," he argued in a clip shared on the official BFI Twitter account. "As I was saying earlier, it's not cinema, it's something else. Whether you go for that or not, it is something else and we shouldn't be invaded by it. And so that's a big issue, and we need the theater owners to step up for that to allow theaters to show films that are narrative films."

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Be Evo Japan 2020’s Main Title

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be the main title at Evo Japan 2020 next January.

Announced at the Nintendo Live Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Challenge Cup grand finals, the gaming calendar’s flagship fighting tournament will host Ultimate as its headline game at next year’s Japan championship, January 24-26.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will sit alongside many other games, such as Tekken 7, Soul Calibur VI, Samurai Shodown, and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

While it’s great news for Smash fans to see Ultimate headline Evo Japan, the event does come on the exact same weekend as Genesis 7; the dedicated Super Smash Bros. tournament held in Oakland, California. Genesis is the world’s largest “grassroots” Smash event, so it will be interesting to see which event fans show more interest in that weekend.

Call of Duty Dev Says There Will Be No Loot Boxes in Modern Warfare

Infinity Ward's art director has made clear that the development team has no current plans to include a loot box or "Supply Drop" system.

Joel Emslie took to Reddit to clarify matters after a YouTuber and leaker claimed that Modern Warfare would include a micro-transaction system where some weapons would be hidden behind a paywall. This news came just weeks after the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta appeared to have references to loot boxes. This angered some fans, since the Call of Duty games that have included loot boxes in the past did so only on a cosmetic basis.

Murder Mystery 2 is a Go at Netflix

Given that (according to Netflix) 31 million people watched Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Murder Mystery during the first 72 hours of its release, making it one of the streaming site's biggest weekend debuts ever, it's not surprising that a sequel is currently in development.

To compare, the Sandra Bullock-led Bird Box had over (according to Netflix) 45 million accounts watch it in seven days globally.

So yes, as THR reports, Murder Mystery 2 is in the works and that James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, White House Down) is in negotiations to return as well.

WWE: Becky Lynch Celebrates Her “Manniversary,” Looking Back at the Biggest Year of Her Career

While promoting WWE 2K20, as the game's (first female) cover star, WWE RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch took some time to reflect on the past year, which has been the biggest of her career. After all, this week did mark her "Manniversary."

That's right, it was this time last year when Lynch started referring to herself as "The Man." Since then, she's flown off on a meteoric rise that saw her capture both the RAW and SmackDown Women's Championships as part of the first-ever female main event of WrestleMania.

Speaking to me, Lynch said "Wow, yes, it would have been around this time that I started it. Whoa. Either time is flying or, I don't know, maybe it even feels shorter than a year. It's been crazy. It's been go go go go. So many things have happened that it's sometimes hard to sit back and realize 'Well, this has gone alright for itself.'"

Is Bill Murray in Zombieland: Double Tap? Red Band Trailer Reveals the Answer

Premiering 10 years after the original, and also set 10 years later, Zombieland: Double Tap is already earning raves from those who've seen advance screenings. And star Emma Stone is already on board to keep making a new installment every decade.

Fans have been wondering, however, if Bill Murray will return in the sequel. As you recall, in the 2009 movie, Murray played a fictional version of himself, as a survivor of the zompocalypse, who took to wearing zombie makeup so he could safely walk the streets of Los Angeles. Of course, if you saw the film, you also remember how this tactic backfired on Murray big time.
