Blizzard Cancels Overwatch Launch Event In Wake Of Protests
Blizzard has cancelled a launch event for Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch, just seven days after it first announced the celebration.
The free event was scheduled to take place tomorrow on October 16 at New York's Nintendo Store. The first 150 fans to sign up were promised meet-and-greets with voice actors from the game, and the only requirement to attend was an active Nintendo account.
To see how Overwatch runs on the Switch, check out 8 minutes of gameplay in the video above.
However, a week later Nintendo has put out a statement apologising that it will no longer go ahead as the event has been "cancelled by Blizzard."
Ryan Reynolds Visited Marvel Studios; Was It to Talk About Deadpool 3?
Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently shared a photo of himself at the offices of Marvel Studios, teasing a potential meeting about the Merc with a Mouth's prospective future within the MCU.
The actor took to social media to share the curious photo, showing him stood in front of the iconic Marvel Studios logo, together with a characteristically witty caption, in which he joked about the purpose of his call into headquarters.
"Auditioned for the role of 'Anthony Stark'," he joked. "Didn't come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground."
Fortnite Chapter 2 is Now Live
Fortnite's Chapter 2 has now gone live, and is available to play right now.
The new Chapter begins with a brand new cinematic, featuring all your old favourite characters - plus a few fun new ones - getting to grips with the new map. As Jonesy bails out the Battle Bus the game transitions from cut-scene to in-game, which is a pretty slick and fun move.
The Chapter 2 patch is available on all platforms - PC, console, and mobile - and it's a chunky update. The PS4 update files weighs in at just over 9GB, while on PC it's 16GB. The update replaces the Fortnite island with a brand new map, and kick-starts Chapter 2 with a new Battle Pass for Season 1. The map itself features all-new locations, and completing actions - such as gaining kills or surviving long enough - adds medals to a 'punchcard'.

You Should Really Be Watching HBO’s Succession
One of the sacred Unwritten Rules of the Internet is that there must always be “The Show.” The mantle of The Show is passed down from one franchise to another like a postmodern coronation. There’s no formal ceremony, no single agreed-upon source announces the ascendance of a new monarch to the throne of the internet zeitgeist, and yet the current holder of the title is always exceedingly easy to spot. In fact, The Show’s single identifier is the ubiquity and tone with which it is discussed and debated in the cultural feeding frenzy of social media. If you’re even passively online you don’t need to go looking for The Show. The Show will find you. And now The Show is HBO’s Succession.
