The Witcher Netflix Show Release Date Leaked
A now-deleted post from Netflix’s Netherlands social media accounts has leaked what could be The Witcher’s release date.
Witcher enthusiast website Redanian Intelligence reports that a post on Netflix Netherlands’ Facebook and Twitter accounts detailed the release dates of 10 upcoming shows, with The Witcher among them. The dates were revealed by a “how many sleeps until…” format, with The Witcher listed at 97 sleeps to go. .
By that count, The Witcher seems to be due for release on Netflix on December 17. The posts have now been deleted, potentially because of inaccurate information, or just because Netflix is not ready to reveal such information just yet. As such, take this leak as a potential indication of release date, rather that solid confirmation.
Nintendo Announce Ring Fit Adventure Fitness Game
Nintendo has finally unveiled what the circular Ring-Con controller it previously teased is used for: a new fitness game called Ring Fit Adventure which will release October 18.
Ring Fit Adventure translates physical exercises into in-game moves, and allows you to explore 20 different worlds. The adventure includes activities such as running, hovering, and steering a raft along a river. The journey is filled with enemy encounters, and players can attack and defend using 40 different ‘fit skills’, which require you to use your arms, legs, abs, and even yoga positions. As such, every quest is a bit of a workout.
Death Stranding: Everything We Learned About Gameplay in the Latest Stream
Hideo Kojima apparently didn’t want to tell people exactly what his new game is, but saw so many people asking that he decided to put on a more explanatory show at TGS. You can watch the 49-minute, Japanese-language demo above.
We already had a fairly good idea about the structure of the game - Norman Reedus’ Sam is a sci-fi delivery man, tasked with helping a fractured United States by convincing independent cities to join the Chiral Network, a connection system designed to tie the country back together. That convincing is seemingly done by helping people out, accruing Facebook-style thumbs-up likes for actions great and small. This demo, however, gave us a much better idea of what a single mission looks like - and it’s as weird, funny, and in-depth as you might expect. We’ve written down every new gameplay element we spotted, along with when we spotted them below. Here we go!
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – The Final Preview
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has always been the weirdest Zelda game. That’s saying a lot in a series that has featured a sentient red boat, a golden turd, and a toilet with an arm in it, to name a few. This mysterious island brimming with bizarre townsfolk and a decidedly unusual story moved away from Zelda staples like Triforce pieces, your perpetual nemesis Ganon, and, well, Zelda herself, to tell a very different but much-appreciated tale. All that happened on the Game Boy in 1993. But, luckily, through some miraculous fate, Link’s Awakening is being given a whole new life on Nintendo Switch on September 20. So, how does it hold up?

Red Dead Online: How Specialty Roles Work In Frontier Pursuits
The big summer update for Red Dead Online is finally here (two weeks before summer ends), and with it comes the most requested feature ever, the ability to change our horrid looking avatars. Oh right, and roles! Three to be exact: Collector, Bounty Hunter, and Trader.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how all three play. You can also take a more detailed look at the three new Specialist Roles in Red Dead Online on our wiki page. If you want to actually see these roles in action, check out the video on the top of this page.
Project Resistance Hands-on: a Deadly Resident Evil Escape Room Challenge
Despite taking place in Raccoon City, you won’t find Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield saving the day in the next Resident Evil game. Even so, there’s no denying that Project Resistance is very much ingrained into their world. Darkened corridors are riddled with zombies, obscure puzzle pieces delay your path to freedom, and all the while a sinister figure is watching your every move - a figure that just happens to be controlled by another player.
Before starting my hands-on demo with Project Resistance, Capcom made it clear that this was not so much a full product as it was still an idea - and it’s plain to see where that idea was birthed from: a touch of Dead by Daylight/Friday the 13th’s asymmetrical multiplayer, a dash of an escape room challenge gone horribly wrong, with a bit of Left 4 Dead’s focus on constantly moving between safe rooms - and don’t forget the role of an evil mastermind that feels similar to what we once saw in the now-cancelled Fable Legends. Project Resistance is all of this and more thanks, culminating in a premise that feels right at home as a Resident Evil experience.
Resident Evil 4v1 Multiplayer Spinoff ‘Project Resistance’ Revealed, Closed Beta in October
Capcom has officially revealed Project Resistance, a 4v1, asymmetrical PvP game where four players work together to escape the clutches of a player-controlled “Mastermind.” A closed beta for Project Resistance is scheduled for early October.
Project Resistance is a new Resident Evil spinoff that takes place on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Similar to games like Friday the 13th and Dead by Daylight, the four “survivor” characters are controlled by players who must work together and escape three levels. All while overcoming the zombies and traps placed by a fifth player who’s playing as the Mastermind.
Gears 5: Here’s How Long It Takes To Beat The Campaign
With just about every big game, we get asked, "So how long is the story/campaign/game?" As Gears 5 releases to everyone this week, we turned to two of our editors who've finished it in order to answer that question.
Ryan McCaffrey, Reviewer
ABOVE: Check out our review of Gears 5's campaign. A final, overall review that accounts for everything included with Gears 5 is coming soon.
My first Gears 5 campaign run-through, on Intermediate difficulty, took me 11 hours and 49 minutes according to the in-game clock. I did try to do every side mission in the open-world portions of Acts II and III (and, to my knowledge, I did complete them all), and I took a quick look around every environment I found to try and find as many collectibles as possible. You can definitely make Gears 5 last longer if you're hellbent on acquiring every collectible, and of course, upping the difficulty will also stretch out your playtime.
Marvel’s Avengers DLC Heroes Won’t Be Reskins of Already Available Characters
Since its official unveiling at E3 2019, Marvel's Avengers, set for a May 15, 2020 release, has promised free DLC characters to come post-launch. And as we learned recently, Crystal Dynamics is looking to make each of those newly added characters as unique and diverse to play as the five Marvel heroes present in the base game.
Speaking to journalists after our hands-on experience of Marvel's Avengers at PAX West 2019, Crystal Dynamics' Head of Studio Scot Amos explained that characters added post-launch aren't simply going to be reskins of Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Captain America.
