Michelle Rodriguez Slams Fast & Furious Writer Over ‘Justice For Han’

Michelle Rodriguez, who has played Letty since 2001's The Fast and the Furious, has taken issue with longtime Fast & Furious writer/producer Chris Morgan over his "Justice for Han" comments.

Speaking to EW, Morgan discussed how he loves "Justice for Han," which refers to the death of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's Han Seoul-Oh by Jason Staham's Deckard Shaw, and how the justice fans have been clamoring for will be forthcoming in the franchise.

“I love ‘justice for Han,’” Morgan said. “Sung Kang is a great friend, and Han is a character that I adore. I would say that the super-arc for Deckard Shaw is going to be one of the most interesting, cool, rewarding character arcs in the franchise. Justice for Han is owed. It’s something we have discussed for a very long time and want to give the right due to. I think the audience will be satisfied and should know it’s coming. There’s a line in Hobbs & Shaw that is right before the battle in Samoa where Shaw says to his sister, ‘There’s things I’ve done that I have to make amends for.’ That line was specifically written and put in there just to let everyone know that he is talking about Han — it is on his mind. It tortures him, and he’s going to get to it.”

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour, FX Boss John Landgraf announced a Season 3 order for the award-winning anthology series, American Crime Story. Season 3, titled Impeachment: American Crime Story, "unravels the national scandal that swept up Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country’s first impeachment proceedings in over a century," according to a synopsis from FX.

Portraying these characters will be Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. The series will premiere on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on FX.

Mortal Kombat 11 Developers Will Fight DDOS Attacks Messing Up Competitive Leaderboards

There is a vulnerability in Mortal Kombat 11 that’s allowing players to fall victim to distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. And malicious players are taking advantage of this vulnerability to climb the Kombat League leaderboards.

Mortal Kombat 11 competitive mode players have been complaining about a player in the ranked mode who’s been playing under various usernames and sending DDoS attacks to opponents.

Using names like pa3com, pa4com, and Son-Goku-DZ, this player uses DDoS attacks to force opponents in competitive mode to disconnect from the internet. This player has used these attacks to climb all the way to the Elder God top rank of Mortal Kombat 11’s competitive mode.

Psyonix Axing Randomized Rocket League Loot Crates Later This Year

Psyonix will phase randomized loot crates out of Rocket League later this year, the developer announced Tuesday in an official post.

The loot crates will be replaced by a system in which the player can see exactly what items they will be purchasing in advance. Specifically, the developer referenced the changes that Epic Games made to Fortnite (Epic Games acquired Rocket League developer Psyonix earlier this year), in which players can see what items are up for grabs before making a purchase with its X-Ray Llamas introduced earlier this year.

Venom 2 Will Be ‘An Extraordinary Piece of Cinema’

Venom 2 is in the works, and it seems that no one is more excited about that fact than newly announced director Andy Serkis. Serkis spoke to reporters at the TCA summer press tour today, teasing what's to come with Venom 2.

"It's a fantastic franchise and I'm honored to be asked to direct it," said Serkis. "It feels like a very contemporary story, and I think, hopefully, that it's going to be an extraordinary piece of cinema."

Serkis wasn't willing to discuss the plot of the film, noting only that writer Kelly Marcel is hard at work shaping the script with input from star Tom Hardy. He did say, "I can't tell you any ideas right now, I'm in the beginning stages, but I have some very clear ideas about what I want to see visually, and how we can take the characters to another dimension."

Horror Movies That Should be Video Games

With the upcoming release of the Blair Witch video game, we thought it was time to take a look at other relatively untapped horror movie franchises ripe for a video game adaptation. Let’s sink our fangs in.

IT

The beauty of IT - both the movies and the original Stephen King novel - is that it lends itself to a video game that could essentially be whatever you wanted it to be. After all, Pennywise is a murderous clown who prays on your worst nightmares; he could take the form of any nasty thing a developer could conjure up. Lepers, werewolves, and a murderous statue of Paul Bunyan are only the beginning. Just as long as the final boss isn’t a giant spider.
