FIFA 20: Career Mode Changes Announced

One of the most consistent questions asked about each instalment of FIFA is whether Career Mode will be changing. In FIFA 20, we won't be getting an overhaul, but there are some big changes coming along.

In a Pitch Notes update today, EA Sports announced a series of changes to the offline mode, including more customisable managers (including the ability to play as a female manager), game impacting team talks, and changes to effects on players based on performance.

In a press release, EA highlighted five key changes:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Has A Tamagotchi Kept Alive By Your Kills

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer mode will offer a variety of gear for players to support their battle efforts - including a Tamagotchi that feeds on death.

In case you entered this world after the '90s, Tamagotchis were small wearable devices that contained virtual pets. These toys tasked children with keeping the Tamagotchi alive by feeding it, cleaning it, and keeping it happy - so far, so wholesome.

Developer Infinity Ward decided to implement a version of Tamagotchis in the new Call of Duty as an alternative to the vanilla wristwatch that players can choose to wear in multiplayer. While the ordinary watch will display your real-world time in game, CoD's TomaGUNchis will be directly affected by your kill-death ratio.

Iger also said that the Fox film development slate would be scrapped and taken "in a new direction" following a $170 million operating loss for Q3 that was in part due to the lackluster performance of Dark Phoenix.

DuckTales: Remastered will be pulled from digital storefronts beginning on August 8, 2019, although those who own the game will still be able to access and play it.

While Capcom gave no reason for this removal, it most likely has something to do with licensing issues as DuckTales is a Disney property.

Thanks to the box office performance of Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, and Toy Story this past fiscal quarter, Disney saw its revenue increase by 33% year-over-year to $20.25 billion. Analysts, however, reportedly expected earnings to be over $21 billion.

So despite their stellar box office success -- the studio has already set a box office milestone for 2019 and they still have Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Frozen 2 on the way -- Disney nevertheless posted lackluster results for the year's fiscal third quarter, which saw Disney stocks slide more than 4%.
