The CW’s New Horror Series Is Inspired By Spooky Internet Fiction

The horror anthology format has been enjoying a resurgence on the small screen in recent years, between episodic series like Hulu's Into the Dark and Amazon's Lore (which tell a different, self-contained horror story in each episode) and season-long scares like FX's American Horror Story, AMC's The Terror, and Syfy's Channel Zero (which switch themes each season).

Now, The CW is getting in on the thrills with Two Sentence Horror Stories, a TV show adaptation of the viral online fiction trend where writers attempt to craft spine-tingling tales in only two sentences. Each episode tackles a different horror story in a short-form format of around 20 minutes, with two episodes airing every Thursday beginning Aug. 8. Lucasfilm Developing First Non-Star Wars Movie Since Disney Purchase

Disney is set to move forward with a film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's bestselling fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone, as a possible new project at Lucasfilm.

Deadline reports that This is Us writer Kay Oyegun has been tapped to write the script for the feature property, which was originally being developed by Fox 2000, but has since caught the eye of Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy.

Sources claim that the Lucasfilm president is in the process of making this the first non-Star Wars or Indiana Jones-related project since the Disney acquisition in 2012.

Disintegration is a sci-fi, first-person shooter from V1 Interactive, a new studio led by Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto.

Ahead of Disintegration's full reveal later this month at Gamescom, we've compiled everything we know about the mysterious shooter, including its first teaser trailer, release window, and history with Halo.

V1 Interactive and publisher Private Division announced Disintegration in July. The announcement was light on information, but it included a 45-second teaser trailer, which showed off different angles of a futuristic weapon or weaponized vehicle.

Marvel’s What If…?: Every Returning MCU Actor

One of the most exciting announcements during Marvel's Comic-Con Phase 4 presentation was the confirmation of an official MCU-based What If...? animated series featuring actual MCU actors voicing their iconic movie characters.

Airing Summer 2021 on Disney+, What If...? is a new animated series based on Marvel's classic series of "alternative history" comics that started in the '70s and explored how things might have played out if key moments in the Marvel timeline never happened. Some famous stories/examples were "What if Wolverine Had Killed The Hulk?," "What if Spider-Man Had Never Become a Crimefighter?," and -- notably -- "What if Jane Foster Had Found the Hammer of Thor?"

Tool’s Tech-Filled ‘Fear Inoculum’ Special Edition CD Is Back In Stock

While "Tool news" isn't generally associated with IGN, the limited edition of Tool's highly-anticipated Fear Inoculum is a bizarre and, ultimately really cool, mash up of technology and packaging.

Fear Inoculum releases with a limited-edition package featuring a "tri-fold Soft Pack Video Brochure," which includes a built-in, 4-inch HD screen you charge via USB. The screen plays "exclusive video footage," and also includes a 2-watt speaker.

Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony Working on Loot Box Probability System

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony are working on new loot box policies for their platforms that would disclose a range of odds for a player's purchase.

ESA Chief Counsel of Tech Policy, Michael Warnecke, shared details Wednesday morning at the FTC's Inside the Game Workshop surrounding loot boxes, as reported by GamesIndustry.

Warnecke explained what has been done prior to address loot box issues, and followed with the announcement of a new probability system with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.

Jordan Peele’s Us Inspires Terrifying Maze at Halloween Horror Nights

If you're a fan of Jordan Peele's horror movie Us and have ever wondered what it would be like to experience the terrifying events of the Tethered uprising firsthand, you're in luck. Us has inspired a new interactive maze at Universal Studios' "Halloween Horror Nights" event.

This new maze will be featured at Universal's Hollywood and Orlando theme parks. Check out the teaser trailer for an early look at how Peele's latest horror project is being adapted to scare you in reality as well as on-screen.

Fans will be treated to a full-fledged story as they navigate the Us maze. The maze begins in 1986 as young Adelaide Wilson travels into a mirror funhouse and first encounters her tethered doppelganger. From there, the maze drags fans into a twisted present as The Tethered begin a mass uprising against their doubles.

Exclusive: Here’s 25-Minutes of Riftbreaker Gameplay Video

EXOR Studios is developing a new sci-fi hack ‘n’ slash game called The Riftbreaker, and we have the exclusive first look at the gameplay right here on IGN.

Players take control of Captain Ashley S. Nowak, an elite scientist and “Riftbreaker” who travels to the distant planet of Galtea 37 in her specialized Mecha-suit. Once there, she must build a home base and establish a "rift" that connects Galatea 37 back to Earth.

Although The Riftbreaker is described as a sci-fi hack ‘n’ slash, there’s a lot more to it than that. Players must explore the unknown planet, collect materials, and build a base that will eventually connect Earth and Galatea 37. That’s why along with the hack ‘n’ slash combat, The Riftbreaker also features strategy and survival elements.
