PS Plus for July Removes PES 2019, Adds Detroit: Become Human
Sony has removed Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 from July’s free PS Plus games and replaced it with the Digital Deluxe Edition of Detroit: Become Human.
The monthly games that subscribers get with PS Plus usually go unchanged once announced. But as July’s games went live for players today, Sony issued a blog post to announce that they have replaced the previously announced PES 2019 with the Digital Deluxe Edition of Detroit: Become Human. It’s not yet clear why Sony decided to make this swap so late, but it may be due to widespread complaints on social media about Pro Evolution Soccer being this month's offering; as a sports title, its appeal is more niche than many other genres.
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Remake Coming To Switch
Update: A remake of the beloved Harvest Moon game Friends of Mineral Town is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch, and confirmed for a North American release, but it will now be known in its North American release as Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.
Publisher XSeed Games, part of Marvelous USA, confirmed in a press release that Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is coming to North America. Natsume originally published Friends of Mineral Town under the Harvest Moon name, but given that Natsume still owns the publishing name rights to that franchise, XSeed and Marvelous will now be bringing the game back under the Story of Seasons branding.
XSeed confirmed an October 17 release in Japan, and only mentioned that the North American launch date "will be confirmed at a later time."
Nvidia Announces Upgraded SUPER GPUs
Nvidia has been teasing something SUPER new since before the start of E3 2019 and today the company is introducing ‘Super’ versions of the RTX 2080, RTX 2070, and RTX 2060.
What makes these new graphics cards so ‘Super’ is they all feature a new GPU with additional CUDA cores, Tensor Cores, RT Cores, faster clock speeds, and generally more of everything. While the Super cards still feature memory operating at 14Gbps, there have been several other enhancements made to the memory and cache. Specs have yet to be revealed for the 2080 Super, but the 2060 and 2070 variants have been revealed, which you can see below.
Upcoming Evil Dead Game Will Be ‘Immersive’ but Not VR
Bruce Campbell, the actor who played Ash Williams in the Evil Dead films and TV series, has clarified that the upcoming Evil Dead game is in development for consoles and PC, and not for VR.
In a post on Twitter, Campbell said “This is a swell time to clarify some incorrect info that might be out there (including from me!): the upcoming Evil Dead video game is being developed for consoles and PC, not VR. Sorry for any confusion.”

Red Faction: Guerrilla’s Destruction Is Still the Best, and That’s a Crime
In 10 years, no one has reused Red Faction: Guerrilla’s destruction technology, except for those making its horribly off-the-mark sequel, and the people re-releasing Red Faction: Guerrilla. That is a disgrace.
I started playing the Switch version of the game (I refuse to type its horrible subtitle) this weekend and, approximately 12 minutes in, I’d already remembered why it was one of my favourite games of the last generation, despite having dull combat, dull missions, a uniformly brown world, and a protagonist with the personality of bread. The moment I remembered why I loved it so much back in 2009 was when I made a chimney fall over with a sledgehammer.
Spider-Man: Far From Home Suits Coming To Spider-Man PS4 For Free
Peter Parker’s new suits from Spider-Man: Far From Home are coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 in the form of a new free DLC pack.
As announced by the PlayStation Japan Twitter account, Peter’s Upgrade Suit and Stealth Suit will be available to players for free. It appears that they will be available today, acting as a simultaneous launch with the Spider-Man: Far From Home movie. We'll confirm the suits launch day as soon as we can.
The addition of these suits brings Marvel’s Spider-Man’s MCU suit count up to five: the original MCU Spider-Man suit, Peter’s DIY suit from before he met Tony Stark, the Iron Spider suit, and these two new Far From Home variants. Yup, that means literally every MCU Spidey is in the game, alongside the Rami suit and the Spider-Verse suit.
Cyberpunk 2077 Features Three Unique Playable Origin Stories
In Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to select from three different origin stories, each of which features a different starting location in the world for their character.
Talking to VG247, lead quest designer Paweł Sasko explained a system that CD Projekt Red calls “Lifepaths”, which in practice sound much like Dragon Age: Origins’ character origin stories.
“The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths: you can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid,” Sasko explained. “Each of that Lifepaths has a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story.”
