Lois Lane Avenges the Death of Superman in Twisted New DC Comic

Even more than a year after the end of Dark Nights: Metal, the ramifications of that massive Batman crossover are still being felt throughout the DC Universe. Today DC announced a new miniseries called Tales From the Dark Multiverse, offering readers an even closer look at the twisted realm where nightmares become reality.

Similar to Marvel's What If? franchise, Tales From the Dark Multiverse will explore alternate takes on classic DC storylines. Each standalone, 48-page issue will be set in a different world in the Dark Multiverse, showing what might have happened if these stories had played out differently.

So far DC has revealed the plot and creative team for two of these issues. Tales From the Dark Multiverse: Batman - Knightfall #1 will revisit the 1993 Knightfall crossover, where Bruce Wayne had his back broken by Bane and Jean-Paul Valley took over the mantle of Batman. In the real DC Universe, Bruce eventually recovered and took back the mantle. In this alternate universe, Valley remains in power and becomes a tyrannical figure called Saint Batman. 30 years after the events of Knightfall, the only hope to free Gotham is a new figure called the Son of Bane.

Division 2 Director Asks Fans if They’d Want a Single-Player Spin-Off

The Division 2’s creative director has asked for fans’ thoughts on a single-player spin-off of the Tom Clancy looter-shooter.

Creative director at Massive Entertainment, Julian Gerighty, retweeted an idea from Tim Spencer, who is level director at Lego studio TT Games. In his tweet, Spencer imagines a narrative-focused, single-player The Division, that would follow an agent attempting to get back to their family after being sent to New York City. He notes in the thread that “None of the stories have explored what a Division agent sacrifices, and what they go through mentally,” which would make good grounds for a single-player offering.

Apex Legends Anti-Cheat Plans Outlined by Respawn

Respawn Entertainment has outlined its plans to help combat Apex Legends cheaters in the wake of an increase of cheat reports.

Explaining the studio’s progress in a Reddit post, Respawn said “We know reports of cheaters, especially in Ranked, have been a hot topic,” and went on to explain that machine learning is being used to generate behaviour models that can detect and automatically ban cheaters.

In addition, two-factor authorisation is going to be made a mandatory requirement for some “high risk” accounts in certain regions, presumably based on data gathered from player reports. Those found guilty of cheating or spamming will be matchmade together to try and isolate bad behaviour.
