A Narrative-Driven PUBG Game Will Require a Complete Gameplay Overhaul
There's a new PUBG game coming, and it's not a battle royale. It's not a sequel, either. In fact, it's "an original narrative experience within the PUBG universe," according to the PUBG Corporation. Glen Schofield, formerly of Sledgehammer and Visceral Games, is leading up PUBG Corporation's new studio 'Striking Distance' to build this new PUBG game.
The gameplay is going to require a complete, ground-up rebuild, though.
If you've ever played one of the custom PUBG modes, like death match, you know the game doesn't lend itself well to being played outside its battle royale comfort zone. With all the hundreds of hours I have into PUBG, I still don't like how the guns feel.

Dead Space Creator’s New Studio to Develop PUBG’s ‘Narrative Experience’
Glen Schofield, the former vice president and general manager of Sledgehammer Games and Visceral Games, who was instrumental in creating Dead Space and co-directed multiple Call of Duty games, has been named the head of Striking Distance studio by PUBG Corporation and will be creating an "original narrative experience within the PUBG universe."
PUBG Corporation announced the news today that Schofield will be building a "world class development team from the ground up" to help create this new narrative experience within the PlayerUnknown's Battleground's universe. The new studio will be located in San Ramon, CA.
“Throughout my career, I’ve had a lot of opportunities to make some remarkable games that tell incredible stories, and each of them has meant something special to me,” said Schofield. “But now, those learnings will help me build a AAA team that can explore new designs and concepts at Striking Distance.”
The Top 25 DC Heroes
It's been over 80 years since Superman first debuted in the pages of Action Comics #1 and jump-started the superhero genre. Since then, DC has spawned thousands of heroes and villains across countless comics, TV series, movies, and video games. But through it all, a select few have emerged as the best of the best. We hear that Batman fellow is still pretty popular.
With the DC Universe constantly growing and expanding in comics, TV, movies and games, it's all the more important to remember those heroes who have defended it all this time. That's why we're counting down the 25 greatest heroes who live and fight in the DC Universe. Obviously that leaves out independent DC franchises like Fables and Y: The Last Man, and we also left out the Sandman crew, as they're a bit above the concept of good and evil. But everyone else in the DCU is fair game. Read on to see which heroes made the cut, and let us know your favorites in the comments section below.
AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation and Aorus Push SSD Speeds to 15,000MB/s
Shortly after AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation processors hit the scene, we’ve been seeing NVMe SSDs break all sorts of sequential read and write speed records approaching 5,000MB/s. However, Gigabyte’s premium gaming brand, Aorus, has managed to blow past the 5K Rubicon and deliver an 8TB setup that runs up to 15,000MB/s read and 15,200MB/s write.
This incredibly speedy drive from Aorus is actually made up of four individual 2TB NVMe SSDs strapped together on an add-in card (AIC) that plugs into a PCIe 4.0 x 16 slot on an X570 motherboard. Typically, these drives would max out at 5,000MB/s just like the latest PCIe 4.0 SSDs from Corsair and Patriot, but Aorus went one step further and arranged the drives in a RAID 0 arrangement to multiply its sequential data transfer speeds.

Kratos Was Almost Cut From God of War
God of War director Cory Barlog has revealed that Sony Santa Monica had discussed cutting Kratos from the game during the early planning stages for the 2018 PS4 game.
Talking at Gamelab in Barcelona, Eurogamer reports that Barlog said “Early in discussion, people were saying we had to get rid of Kratos. It was like, 'he's annoying, he's done'."
Barlog went on to describe that members development team felt that Kratos’ anti-hero design had been played through in the original trilogy, and that the new game needed a fresh protagonist. The argument was that the mythology was important to the series, not the character of Kratos.

Epic Games founder and CEO, Tim Sweeney, has defended the Epic Games Store’s current exclusivity strategy, stating that the tactic is the only way to change the current status quo.
Talking as part of a thread on Twitter, Sweeney said “We believe exclusives are the only strategy that will change the 70/30 status quo at a large enough scale to permanently affect the whole game industry.”
This question gets to the core of Epic’s strategy for competing with dominant storefronts. We believe exclusives are the only strategy that will change the 70/30 status quo at a large enough scale to permanently affect the whole game industry.
