Opinion: Why I Want an Overwatch Story Campaign More than Overwatch 2

Editor's Note: This piece was originally published in June, but we've repromoted it and updated sections of it in time for Blizzcon.

For a game I still spend up to 20 hours a week playing, I’ll be the first to admit that Overwatch does have its problems. Yes, the inherent problems of balancing a 30-plus character hero-shooter roster plague it, the issues of its loot box culture are well documented, and not all are onboard with the new role lock system. None of these, however, affect my enjoyment of Overwatch enough; it’s still my favourite game.

Brief Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Revealed

While we're expecting the full gameplay reveal during the E3 2019-adjacent EA Play tomorrow, June 8, EA and developer Respawn Entertainment have shown off the tiniest of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay teases ahead of that full unveiling.

In a teaser posted to Twitter, Respawn showcases mere seconds of gameplay from Jedi: Fallen Order. Watch in the video below or head to Twitter to see the tease.

Weaver Says She, Murray and Aykroyd Back for Ghostbusters

Sigourney Weaver claims she will reprise her role as Dana Barrett in director Jason Reitman's upcoming Ghostbusters movie -- and that her former co-stars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will join her!

In an interview with Parade Magazine, Weaver -- who portrayed musician Dana Barrett, Peter Venkman's love interest, in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II -- confirmed that she will return for Reitman's film, which has previously been described as a sequel to the original films and not a reboot or continuation of the previous 2016 reboot.

What We Want From Gears 5 At E3

Kait Diaz is the lead in Gears 5 and I am absolutely ecstatic. Her taking JD’s place as the protagonist means a lot to me personally, but with how Gears of War 4 played out, it only makes sense that the story shifts to her perspective. If you haven't finished Gears 4, this is your spoiler warning.

Gears 4's massive cliffhanger about Kait's heritage opens the door for all sorts of story options. What really are the Locust? How does Kait's family relate to them? And what about the Swarm? So many questions, and while we probably won't get any hints at an answer at E3, I do hope we'll learn more about Gears 5's gameplay on Microsoft's stage.

Tom Holland Talks About First Spider-Man Screen Tests

In the newly released Netflix show from director Jon Favreau and chef Roy Choi – The Chef Show – Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, and the Russo brothers are featured in an episode where they end up sharing insights into Holland's first steps as Spider-Man.

While sitting around a table having oysters, Feige asked Holland how long it was from the moment he was cast as Spider-Man until he was in front of the camera, in which Holland responded, "It was like four days or something like that."

"I did the first screen test with you (RDJ) and the second screen test with Chris and then waited about a month, and then found out and flew straight out," Holland explained.

FIFA 20 Release Date Announced

FIFA 20 has an official release date of September 27, 2019.

Announced by the EA Sports FIFA Twitter account, FIFA 20 will have its full reveal during the EA Play livestream starting tomorrow. The brief video that announced the release date only confirmed FIFA 20 would be coming to PS4, but considering FIFA 19 came to PC, PS4, Xbox One and a port came to Nintendo Switch, it’s likely it will make it to the same platforms again.

E3 2019: Nintendo Conference Date, Time, Predictions, and Announcements

Nintendo's E3 Direct is scheduled to begin on today, June 11 at 9am PT/12pm ET/5pm UK (June 12 at 2am AET).

We already got a few Nintendo Switch surprises ahead of the Nintendo Direct, but if history is any indicator, there are plenty more to come. During its E3 2019 conference last night, Square Enix announced a remastered Final Fantasy VIII is coming to Switch (among other systems).

The Nintendo Switch era has see a fire relit under Nintendo. While some of its best games came out for the Wii U, the Wii U itself wasn't a success. However, the Nintendo Switch has been a dominant force in gaming since its release, and many of those overlooked Wii U games made their way to the hybrid console. But it's more than just ports of Wii U games. Nintendo's core franchises, like Super Mario, Pokemon, and Metroid, are all on, or making their way to, the Nintendo Switch.

Gwyneth Paltrow Didn’t Know She Was in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Gwyneth Paltrow, who definitely portrayed Pepper Potts in Spider-Man: Homecoming, completely forgot she was in that movie.

In the first episode of the Netflix series The Chef Show with Jon Favreau, Paltrow comes on as a guest to help cook the “Pepper Pott,” a vegetarian stew named after her MCU character. Just four and a half minutes into the episode, Paltrow is confronted with a story about cooking while working on Homecoming.

Twitter user @JarettSays shared the clip, which can be viewed below. For those who can’t watch it, a transcript follows.

7 of the Most Awkward E3 Moments

E3. It’s like Christmas for gamers. If indeed, Christmas was a day when your parents showed you your presents but then made you wait another six months before you could open them. At any rate, it’s easily the most exciting week of the year in videogames. Yet for every big game unveil there’s often an awkward on-stage fail, as well-intentioned members of the videogame industry can go from living the dream to accidentally birthing a meme in an instant. Here are seven of the most awkward moments from E3’s past.

1. Kinect’s Disconnect

Xbox’s motion-sensing Kinect was developed to take the controllers out of the hands of players, but it also took control of Microsoft’s E3 2009 presentation right out of the hands of its presenters.
