Roller Champions Preview: Rolling With Some Potential

Roller Champions is Ubisoft’s free-to-play, roller derby style competitive online game. The premise is straightforward: throw the ball into the goal and the first team to five points wins. Roller Champions is easy to pick up, but there are some strategy options to give you something to think about and experiment with.

Matches are 3v3 and take place in a variety of different themed arenas/locations. It’s a standard roller derby track but encased with high, clear glass walls around the inner/outer circle, which allows players more space to skate and more ways to strategize. There’s a single ball and both teams are fighting for possession; your goal is to get the ball and take it at least once around the track, uninterrupted.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Story Creator Mode Announced

Ubisoft announced two new modes for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey today: a Story Creator Mode and a Discovery Tour.

Story Creator Mode is a free quest-creation tool that is starting its open beta today. It allows players to create their own stories and play quests created by other players. Quests made in the mode are available cross-platform on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Based on the story-designer tools and branching dialogue systems used in Odyssey, it lets players write their own stories accompanied by gameplay. Players can mix and match six quest objectives, like freeing or assassinating targets and going to specific locations. They can create branching narratives with multiple outcomes, and have access to several historical characters from the game to retell historical events. Players can also define role-play options in the dialogue system, which includes lying to or attacking NPCs.

Watch Dogs: Legion Revealed, Release Date Announced

Watch Dogs: Legion, the third game in Ubisoft's open world franchise, has been revealed, and it will be released on March 6, 2020.

As previously rumoured, the game has you playing a full gang of DedSec members, and sees you gathering new recruits drawn from what would traditionally be open world NPCs. Every cinematic in the game will change depending on the characters you choose to play as, from ex-MI5 spies to old ladies.

Creative director Clint Hocking has acknowledged that the game takes place in a post-Brexit London, in which the UK has become a surveillance state.

A leak last week hinted that much of this was the case, but the sheer scale of that idea, and the ambition on show, is striking. The game's official name was confirmed by Ubisoft on Twitter shortly after the leak.
