DC Comics to End the Vertigo Imprint in 2020

DC Comics' long-running Vertigo imprint will be no more after 2019. This mature readers imprint is being retired as DC consolidates its entire comic book publishing line beginning in January 2020.

DC will be shuttering Vertigo along with the YA-focused DC Ink and the all ages-focused DC Zoom. Beginning in January 2020, all of DC's comic content will fall under one of three umbrellas depending on the age demographic - DC Kids (8-12), DC (13+) and DC Black Label (17+).

Nintendo Says It Will Not Release a Game Before It’s Ready

As the development community continues to question practices that contribute to a normalized culture of crunch, many studios and individual developers have been reflecting on the conversation, trying to find ways to contribute to the solution. And Nintendo is no different.

Crunch isn’t necessarily an easy problem to identify or solve, and there are nuances to that problem based on the variations in studios’ personal practices or team structures. Ultimately, a lot of what contributes to crunch is the inherent nature of game development: It’s hard to predict what will work, what will go wrong, and what will end up being the better direction as identified by creative leads (and, let’s be real: Likely publisher needs, too).

Tom Holland Wants Spider-Man to Team Up With Doctor Strange

Tom Holland says he’d like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange to team up in a future MCU movie.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Holland said "I’m really wanting to do a team-up with Doctor Strange, because we’re both New Yorkers and I just really like the idea of a science guy being teamed up with a guy who does magic, because it totally contradicts everything he knows. And I like the idea that there is real science that Peter Parker talks about, and then there’s Doctor Strange gibberish, where he’s like ‘The time rift and the thing and the thing.’ So it’s kind of fun."

Marvel’s Avengers Is Crystal Dynamics’ Largest Game in History

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, studio head at Crystal Dynamics, Scott Amos, shared how much they have expanded for Marvel's Avengers following the Tomb Raider trilogy.

"From our side, it's the biggest thing that we've ever done," Amos said. "We now have five studios working together to pull this off. Crystal Dynamics at Redwood Shores, we opened a new studio in Bellevue called Crystal North West. We have our partners in the Netherlands, Nixxes, which has a big team of people who we've worked with for 20 years. Eidos Montreal was our sister studio for all of Tomb Raider, so they're working on this. And even Square Enix Japan has folks from the tech group working with us."

Epix’s Pennyworth Will Tell the Untold Stories of the DC Universe

Gotham executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon are no strangers to offering new twists on classic DC Comics stories - their reinterpretation of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon's origin story ran for five successful seasons on FOX, keeping viewers guessing right to the end.

Now, the duo are turning their attention to another key member of the Batfamily - Alfred Pennyworth, who has always been one of the most beloved (and often enigmatic) characters in Batman lore. In Epix's new TV series, Pennyworth, Alfred (played with sly charm by Jack Bannon) takes center stage as a young man fresh out of the army - battle-scarred and trying to find his way in the world by starting his own security firm.

The Best Gaming Chairs

If you buy something through this post, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.

When it comes to setting up your gaming space, a goof quality chair is one of the things that often goes overlooked in favour of more techy additions but, along with your desk, it's the one thing which should receive some time and consideration.

Choosing an unsupportive or poorly made chair can impact more than your in-game performance. In the long term it can lead to problems like neck and back disorders and numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, and in the short term it can leave you with a stiff neck or a pain in the backside, and let's be honest, none of those things sound like a lot of fun.

Elden Ring Is an Evolution of Dark Souls Says Creator

Elden Ring’s announcement trailer shown off at E3 2019’s Xbox Briefing had honestly left me clueless. The most noteworthy aspect was, of course, the fact that Elden Ring’s world is being created as a collaboration between Miyazaki and A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin. But besides that, all I understood was that the “Elden Ring” had been shattered… by somebody or something?

It almost felt like the narrator’s words “I doubt you could even imagine it” were addressed to me personally.

Luckily, Miyazaki was not the secretive soul master I had imagined him to be. He was open and friendly and seemed eager to tell me all about his new game and the meaning behind the Elden Ring.

20 Things We Learned From the New Stranger Things 3 Trailer

This Stranger Things trailer breakdown contains speculation, theories, and potential spoilers for Season 3 - we don't know any more than you about how the season plays out, but steer clear if you want to go into the new episodes completely oblivious, just in case our predictions come true.

The new season of Stranger Things is nearly upon us, and Netflix has released one final Season 3 trailer to whet our appetites. One thing is already clear - just because the new season takes place during summer rather than Halloween doesn't mean the show will be any less creepy or terrifying.

The Gothic Terror of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is not a science-fiction film.

That’s a controversial statement to make, and not just because the people who saw it might disagree; most of the people who made it probably would too. In its marketing, there was nothing to indicate that Fallen Kingdom -- which was released just about a year ago, on June 22, 2018 -- wouldn’t be exactly the movie its audience was expecting: a crowd-pleasing dinosaur adventure with IMAX-ready action set pieces, charismatic stars, and of course, as many dinosaurs as possible. Yet while Fallen Kingdom delivered the movie the trailers sold, it also provided one the trailers didn’t, because threaded between the seams is possibly the riskiest trick any 2018 blockbuster pulled: completely changing the genre of its franchise.

Anthem Is ‘Not Working Very Well’ Admits EA CEO

EA CEO Andrew Wilson has admitted that Anthem’s ambition to bring together story-focused gaming and looter-shooter mechanics is “not working very well”, but he vows that the publisher will stand by both the game and developer BioWare in hope of improving Anthem’s fortunes.

Talking to GameDaily.biz, Wilson said of the two player demographics Anthem attempted to bring together: “One was traditional BioWare story driven content, and the other was this action-adventure type content. About the 30 or 40 hour mark they really had to come together and start working in on the elder game. At that point everyone kind of went, ‘Oh, hang a minute.’ Now the calculation is off.”
