How This Game of Thrones Character Finally Earned Redemption
SPOILERS AHEAD for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 3 - "The Long Night."
Theon's death in tonight's epic episode of Game of Thrones was, according to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, symbolic of redemption and how we choose to face our final moments of life.
Theon's last night alive was spent defending Bran from the Night King and his army. However, before the undead enemies arrived, he looked to Bran and began apologizing for all he's done in the past.
Bran quickly stopped him and said, "everything you did brought you where you are now. Where you belong. Home."
Then, as the Night King arrived to the Godswood and all seemed lost, Bran looked to Theon and told him, "you're a good man. Thank you." Bran knew what was coming, as did Theon, and Theon chose to spend his final moments redeeming himself and making one final, fatal attempt at killing the Night King and, in a sense, all of his prior mistakes.

GoT Showrunners on Giving THAT Character a Fitting Send-Off
Full spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones, Season 8's third episode, "The Long Night!"
The Battle of Winterfell was not kind to the Mormonts. Not only did young Lady Lyanna Mormont die a hero's death, so did Ser Jorah Mormont. And Jorah's death was a fitting one, dying defending his beloved Khaleesi from encroaching wights.
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss talked about the appropriateness of how Jorah's story finally came to an end during HBO's "Inside the Episode" following episode 3 of the final season, "The Long Night" (read our review here).
