Anthem ‘Defender’ Bug Causes Level 1 Guns to Be Better Than Higher Level Weapons, BioWare Working on a Fix

An Anthem bug was recently discovered by players which causes basic guns to do more damage than higher level weapons. Developer BioWare has said it is working on a fix for the problem.

The bug was originally discovered by Reddit user YeetLordSupreme who completed tests to find that their default Defender Rifle was more successful at taking out enemies than their level 45 masterwork Ralner's Blaze rifle.

The redditor reported that, despite higher damage numbers showing up for the higher level weapon, fewer bullets were required to take out the same target when using the basic gun.

Opinion: EA Is Wrong to Ban Anthem Players for Victimless Crimes

After spending roughly seventy hours in Anthem, I understand the appeal of grinding out a powerful build and taking it into the sandbox for some fun. The community has been quick to discover chest farming routes that allow you to acquire materials quickly, weapon combinations that stack to add nearly infinite damage potential, and other silly glitches that are fun for a laugh, but not really worth going out of your way to mess with for too long. Since all of this takes place in a gigantic sprawling PvE space, it doesn’t really matter if something is broken for a while, since you can’t hurt other players. You can have your fun and the glitch will be patched out shortly - at least that’s what I thought.

Suicide Squad 2: Idris Elba in Talks to Replace Will Smith as Deadshot

Following Will Smith’s departure from Suicide Squad 2, British actor Idris Elba is reportedly in talks to replace him as Deadshot.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, sources say Elba met with director James Gunn on March 1, and things went so well that talks have already begun with Warner Bros. as a whole. Elba was allegedly the first and only choice for Gunn and Warner Bros. The studio is reportedly so excited about Gunn’s script that the film is entering its casting stage sooner than anticipated.

The film, which has reportedly been retitled The Suicide Squad, will act as a relaunch of sorts as opposed to a direct sequel. Reports also claim Gunn will mostly be using DC characters that didn’t appear in the first film - Deadshot and Harley Quinn excluded.

Controversial Game Rape Day Won’t Be Allowed on Steam

A controversial game where players assume the role of a sociopath during a zombie apocalypse, called Rape Day, will not be sold on Steam.

Confirmed in an official statement on the Steam Blog, Valve decided not to distribute the game, saying "After significant fact-finding and discussion, we think Rape Day poses unknown costs and risks and therefore won't be on Steam. We respect developers’ desire to express themselves, and the purpose of Steam is to help developers find an audience, but this developer has chosen content matter and a way of representing it that makes it very difficult for us to help them do that."
