I Saw Charizard Battle on the Set of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu
The trailers for Pokemon: Detective Pikachu feature a fiery battle between Charizard and Pikachu, although it doesn’t go down like anyone would have expected. Charizard busts out of the gate, rage in its eyes, ready to Flamethrower little Detective Pikachu into smoldering oblivion. This Pikachu, however, isn’t like other Pokemon. He’s not only a detective, but he has the mysterious gift to speak with one human in particular, protagonist Tim Goodman. As we see in the trailer, this Pikachu was made for solving cases (and drinking coffee), not battling. In fact, he doesn’t even know how to use his moves, leading to a comedic beat about performance anxiety courtesy of Ryan Reynolds, the voice behind our fuzzy yellow private eye.
Pokemon Cinematic Universe a Possibility After Detective Pikachu
The upcoming movie Pokemon: Detective Pikachu could be the start of a live-action Pokemon Cinematic Universe, according to Legendary Entertainment producer Ali Mendes.
While on a visit to the Detective Pikachu movie set outside London last year, IGN and a small group of press talked to Mendes about the possibility of expanding the live-action Pokemon world beyond Detective Pikachu.
such a rich universe. There are so many ways you can go inside of it. We're trying to get the first movie right, and then once we've done that, we'll see where we go from there, but absolutely. There are a lot of opportunities,” Mendes said.
While Mendes gave a reserved answer, it shows Legendary has clearly thought about how far they can go from here. After all, the big studios are all chasing the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even though superheroes seem like a natural fit for this concept, Pokemon is an expansive franchise with a rich, interconnected world with lots of popular characters, not unlike Marvel.
James Gunn’s Suicide Squad Is a Reboot Called The Suicide Squad
DCEU producer Peter Safran has confirmed that James Gunn’s Suicide Squad film will be a “total reboot" called The Suicide Squad instead of Suicide Squad 2.
In an interview with JoBlo, Peter Safran, who acted as producer for Aquaman and the upcoming Shazam!, confirmed this information. When asked if fans should be excited for Suicide Squad 2, Safran said "First of all, we don’t call it Suicide Squad 2 ‘cause it’s a total reboot, so it’s The Suicide Squad and I think people should be extremely excited about it. It’s everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot."

As spotted by 9to5Google, a section of Chromium’s source code Gerrit (a collaboration tool for developers to review code modification) features a section titled “Improve support for Nintendo Switch gamepads”, in which it is clearly explained that Google intends to add native support for Joy-Cons and the Switch Pro controller to their Gamepad API.
The section details that the API will support the both the Pro controller and Joy-Cons through Bluetooth and direct USB connection, and that the Joy-Cons can be used in both individual and paired configurations.
