John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum New Trailer Coming This Week
Everyone is waiting for John Wick... but you won't have to wait much longer. IGN can exclusively reveal that a new trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum is dropping this Thursday.
This announcement and exclusive teasers for the trailer, below, serve as a kick off to a week-long IGN Premiere (IGN's editorially-driven entertainment-focused preview event series) focused on the upcoming sequel. Be sure to tune in every day for another new exclusive -- and, of course, coverage of the new trailer!
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum picks up shortly after the events of Chapter 2, where we find our titular hero on the run and excommunicado with a $14 million price tag on his head, an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail and the assassin's guild, the High Table, out to see him dead.
Red Dead Online: Next Major Update Detailed
Rockstar has detailed its planned changes for the next major update to Red Dead Online, coming "later this Spring".
In a press release, it lists the following features, although points out that there are details not covered, and other unmentioned new features:
- Offensive and Defensive Playing Styles - These choose-able styles will alter how you interact with other players in the world. Offensive is essentially the current Red Dead Online experience, but Defensive hews closer to GTA Online's Passive Mode. In Defensive Mode, you can't be lassoed by other players, can't be locked onto, and can't have critical hits inflicted. In return, you also can't lock onto other players or deliver critical hits, and lassoing another player kicks you out of Defensive mode. The key difference between Defensive and Passive seems to be that you can still receive damage, it's just harder to be killed.
The Grudge Reboot Will Be Set in America
The Grudge reboot is moving the franchise outside of Japan, an unusual step for the series.
In an interview with Gamespot, co-writer Jeff Buhler said the franchise would be moving to America for the reboot.
"The phenomenon of a grudge, which happens when someone dies in a violent rage, could happen anywhere," Buhler said in the interview.
"So the idea was to take what we've seen happening in Japan, and ask what would happen if that cycle were to happen in our own backyard?," Buhler continued. "We wanted to start a new cycle of ghosts in a completely new setting."
Leaving Netflix in April: Clone Wars, James Bond, Heat, and More
Netflix's official "Last Call" list for April is here, allowing us a few more weeks to catch these titles before they expire from the site.
A bunch of notable James Bond movies - like Casino Royale, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Goldfinger - are taking a hike, along with classic movies like L.A. Confidential, Heat, and Seven. Three seasons of Luther, starring Idris Elba, are also vanishing.
Finally, wave goodbye to all forms of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is leaving to, presumably, going Disney+ in the fall.
How Spider-Vers Gave Us a Doc Ock for Modern Times
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse found success by simultaneously being a love letter to and a fresh new take on Spider-Man's mythology. Although virtually every character featured is based on somebody from the comics, the story and world presented in the film isn't a precise adaptation of any pre-existing interpretation. This approach gave way to the film's boldest deviation from the canon: Olivia Octavius, the new Doctor Octopus. But the film's version of the perennial Spider-Man nemesis goes beyond being only a genderflip; Doctor Octopus has been reinvented here as a modernized, rational character who is obsessed purely with her scientific achievements, refocusing the character on being a mad scientist as opposed to the catch-all supervillain with vague definition that he has been for half a century in the comics.

MCU’s First Three Phases Will Be Called the Infinity Saga
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will collectively be known as The Infinity Saga.
While the MCU has so far been divided into phases, each ending with a major Avengers team-up movie, it has been clear for the majority of film series’ run that everything has been building towards a final chapter. Feige emphasises this in an interview featured in the latest issue of Empire, where he discusses creating the conclusion to over a decade’s worth of filmmaking.
"We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before,” Feige says regarding the decision to use the Infinity Saga title. “Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn't it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline."

Avengers: Endgame Directors Admit Trailers Use Footage Not in the Movie
Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have discussed how they use footage that doesn't make it into the final cut of their films in their trailers as to "preserve the surprise of the narrative."
Via ComingSoon.net, the Russo brothers were recently interviewed by Empire Magazine and talked about how important it was to them that they "keep the film's marketing department from spoiling the surprises."
“We talked about all scales of marketing,” said Joe Russo. “The thing that’s most important to us is that we preserve the surprise of the narrative. When I was a kid and saw The Empire Strikes Back at 11am on the day it opened…It so profoundly moved me because I didn’t know a damn thing about the story I was going to watch. We’re trying to replicate that experience.”
