Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Still Needs Better Patch Notes
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 2.0 patch just dropped, adding Piranha Plant as a DLC character and letting you play its Spirit Boards with up to four players. Another round of balance changes also arrived alongside side those additions and, similar to last time, Nintendo veered away from giving hard data on how it changed its fighters.
Despite being widely praised for its transparency around Metroid Prime 4 just last week, the Smash Bros. patch notes continue to be frustratingly opaque. This time Nintendo at least gave a full list of which fighters and moves were changed (a big step up from the barren "game balance adjustments" line from the last patch), but it still didn't provide a detailed account of damage adjustments and number changes like nearly every other online game does. The 2.0 patch is a massive move in the right direction, but Nintendo should still do better.

How Will The Good Place Season 4 Handle That Finale Twist?
This interview contains spoilers for The Good Place Season 3, which is streaming on Netflix internationally and streaming on NBC.com in the US.
The entire fate of humanity is in jeopardy on The Good Place, and the writers are really starting to feel the pressure going into Season 4.
The Season 3 finale twist essentially rebooted the fake Good Place neighborhood back to the very beginning of the series – with Eleanor taking over from Michael as the architect – to prove that humans can become better people after death. But with the Bad Place picking the four new human subjects specifically to torture Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason, Chidi ended up being faced with his ex-girlfriend Simone, and chose to have his memory wiped so he wouldn't blow the whole experiment and doom all of humanity to the Bad Place.

Captain Marvel Movie’s Yon-Rogg Explained
Note: With Captain Marvel hitting theaters this weekend, we figured it was time to freshen up on the history of Yon-Rogg once more. This story has been updated accordingly but is SPOILER-FREE for the movie. Still, for anyone who wants to avoid potential spoilers and speculation based on the comics stories, stand warned!
While Marvel fans have known that Jude Law has a prominent role in the Captain Marvel movie, it's only recently that we've learned which character Law is actually playing. Contrary to popular belief, the actor isn't co-starring as Carol Danvers' heroic mentor Mar-Vell. Instead, he's playing a villain from the comics named Yon-Rogg.
What We Want From The Resident Evil TV Series
Last week, a day before the Resident Evil 2 remake’s release, Deadline reported that a Resident Evil TV series is in development at Netflix with Constantin Film, the studio behind the six divisive (to say the least) Resident Evil films. While many fans of the video game series found Constantin’s adaptations less than satisfactory, with their focus on action over horror, the films did pull in over $1.2 billion dollars, making it the most successful video game film franchise of all time. In fact, since the series’ conclusion in 2016, Deadline reported that Constantin has been searching for a means of rebooting the series and it sounds like they may have found a home on the small screen.
Space Game Teased in Watch Dogs 2 Reportedly Rebooted Rather Than Canceled
The game codenamed Pioneer, a non-violent exploration title from Ubisoft, has reportedly been rebooted as a co-op multiplayer shooter.
Kotaku reports that Pioneer is still in development, but the original vision of a non-violent space exploration game has been scrapped. Instead, it's been re-imagined as a co-op multiplayer alien shooter that is being developed using Rainbow Six's Anvil game engine. It will reportedly retain some features of the original Pioneer.
The mysterious space-themed video game was initially revealed in a side mission in Watchdogs 2 that had players break into an in-game version of Ubisoft’s San Francisco offices to find a theoretical E3 trailer of Pioneer. The meta nature of it all generated a buzz around the game, but earlier this month it was thought that the project was canceled after former employees took to Twitter.
