Fewer Movie Spots Expected to Air During Super Bowl 53

The ads set to air during Super Bowl 53 will not include as many Hollywood movie spots as in the past, reported by THR.

The major Hollywood studios used to air as many as eight to 10 promos during the Super Bowl, but in 2018 they dropped to six, and this year could be as little as only three or four.

The main reason is due to high costs – as the price is approximately $5 million for a mere 30-second spot on CBS' channel.

Disney is expected to have the most spots, as they have a huge film slate for 2019 – but it is unknown if they will show most of their trailers for upcoming films during pre and postgame shows, which cost roughly half as much as during the Super Bowl itself.

Is DC’s Justice League Series Too Crazy or Just Crazy Enough?

No one will be surprised to hear that a superhero comic has gotten a little bit crazy plot-wise. After all, that's kind of what they're known for, right? Resurrections and universe-destroying stakes and time travel -- you know, the works. But the level of off-the-wall wackiness in the latest run of DC's Justice League comic series has exceeded all expectations, and might even be setting a new standard in superheroic absurdity. And it's doing it all by blending some of your nostalgic Saturday morning cartoon faves with some of the deepest possible deep cuts into DC's lore.

On the surface, Justice League looks like a pretty approachable book for the layman. It features a team roster instantly familiar to fans of the beloved Justice League animated series, and the villains are the most iconic members of the Legion of Doom -- yes, the bad guy group from the Super Friends cartoon has finally come to comics -- which certainly sounds like a recipe for an easy book to follow.

The Mandalorian: A Classic Star Wars Droid Will Appear in the Disney Series

The Mandalorian producer Jon Favreau has revealed a familiar droid that will appear in the upcoming Disney+ show.

Revealed on Instagram, the droid is R5-D4, a red astromech droid featured in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In this film, R5-D4 was shown after he had been captured by Jawas and encountered R2-D2. When the Jawas sell droids to Luke Skywalker and Uncle Owen, they initially choose C-3PO and R5-D4. However, R5-D4 malfunctions, which Luke chalks up to a “bad motivator,” and C-3PO convinces them to choose R2-D2 instead, ultimately setting off a path of getting Leia Organa’s message to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Dumbo: 6 Changes From the Original, According to the Remake’s Stars

Disney’s recent spate of remakes have been an interesting set of experiments in repeat storytelling, from wildly different takes on the source material (The Jungle Book) to updates that feel like loving cover versions (Beauty and the Beast). Tim Burton’s live-action retooling of Dumbo might be among the most interesting – how do you make a film from the '40s feel fresh?

I had the chance to speak to three of the film’s stars – Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito and Joseph Gatt – about the upcoming film and, inevitably, the subject of its changes to the original popped up along the way. Here are the 6 most interesting tidbits I learned:

The Human Element Is More Important
