Obsidian Announces New Sci-Fi RPG The Outer Worlds
Today during The Game Awards, developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Private Division have announced The Outer Worlds, a new single-player, sci-fi RPG for Xbox One, PS4, and PC coming in 2019.
Set on a colony at the edge of the galaxy where corporations have taken over every aspect of life, your character awakens from hibernation in the midst of a conspiracy that threatens the survival of the colony on the brink of collapse.
As a true single-player RPG, you can build your character into several different playstyles, choose and manage your companions, and drive the story through your decision making, branching dialog, and the actions you take.
The Outer Worlds appears to be a bleak take on commercialism run amok with a strong undercurrent of dark humor throughout the setting and characters.
