PUBG’s New Map Is Great, But It Won’t Save It
There was a time when PUBG enjoyed massive domination. The early-access battle royale game was a huge breakout hit, with a record 3.2 million concurrent players on Steam almost one year ago.
But its numbers have dropped off, and while it's still one of Steam's most popular games, it's nowhere near its peak.
Meanwhile Fortnite is unquestionably the biggest game on Earth, and Call of Duty's Blackout mode brings another big name to the battle royale battle royale. Against these heavy hitters, and with even CS:GO adding a battle royale and going free-to-play, PUBG isn't going to gain new players unless it does something drastically different.
The new Vikendi snow map for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds was announced during the 2018 Game Awards, bringing the total number of maps to four (five if you count training). The timing was interesting, as PUBG's biggest battle royale rival Fortnite's season 7 had dropped, and with it, a host of changes to the map, new inclusions, and an entirely new creative mode.

With Godzilla: King of the Monsters now in theaters, lots of folks are wondering just who the many monsters -- or kaiju -- are that are showing up to battle Godzilla this time around. The King has a lot of enemies, but who are they exactly and what are their names? Bethesda Has One More Fallout 76 Patch Planned in 2018
Bethesda shares its current patch schedule for the remainder of the year, and teases new content for Fallout 76.
Fallout 76 got another patch this week following last week's update, and Bethesda is hoping to drop one more before the end of the year, according to the latest Inside the Vault blog post.
"We’re still hoping to provide one more patch in mid-December. As mentioned previously, this patch will continue our focus on stability and other concerns raised by the community," reads the update.
Funimation CEO: ‘We’d Have Done a Much Better Job’ With Evangelion Than Netflix
Funimation founder and CEO Gen Fukunaga has voiced some criticisms of the Evangelion franchise going over to Netflix, claiming Funimation would have done a better job handling the property.
In an interview with Polygon, Funkunaga said "Honestly, Netflix is willing to significantly overpay for something like

is. I’m 100-percent sure that we’d have done a much better job brand-managing it and turning it back into what it was... It’s unfortunate for Funimation — we really wanted that title.
Birds of Prey Casts Chris Messina as Villain Victor Zsasz
Chris Messina has been cast in Warner Bros. and DC's Birds of Prey film, as the villain Victor Zsasz, according to Deadline.
Zsasz was first introduced in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 in June 1992, part of the Batman: The Last Arkham series. He began as a rich man who owned an international company, with a family that came from money as well.
After his parent's deaths, Zsasz got trapped in the world of gambling and lost everything – including to the Penguin. He ended up becoming a serial killer who carves tally marks into his skin to represent his victims.
Fortnite Dataminers Find Hints of Thanos’ Return to the Game
The Mad Titan could be coming back to Fortnite in another crossover event, if updated game files are anything to go by.
Fortnite's patch 7.01 released this week, and dataminers who have been poking around in the update have discovered files that suggest that Thanos might be making a timely comeback, now that the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame has dropped.
FNBR.News reports that dataminer FortTory discovered newly added Carmine-related files, significant because Carmine was the codename for the original Infinity Gauntlet LTM.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s First Premium DLC Has Been Leaked
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's first premium DLC, Multiplayer Map Pack 1, has leaked.
Last night, Black Ops 4 players in Australia noticed they were able to download and play the DLC's two new multiplayer maps, Madagascar and Elevation (via Eurogamer). Some players took the opportunity to post footage of both Madagascar and Elevation to YouTube.
Players were also able to access and post footage of the new Dead of the Night zombies mode confirming that actors Kiefer Sutherland and Charles Dance appear in the new mode.
