PUBG Gets a Ranking System

PUBG for PC received patch 22 yesterday, which introduced a new ranking system inspired in part by the game's mobile version. Also included in the patch is a new anti-cheat system, wheel-style quick select menus for healing and throwable items, and the return of map selection.

The new ranking system offers players eight ranks from Bronze to Grand Master to move through. Ranks are assigned based on earned Rank Points, with players being assigned their first rank after completing 10 placement matches. Players will then move up or down in the system as they play based upon their current Rank Points, which will be awarded according to in-game performance.

Sony Reveals November’s PS Plus Games Extremely Early

Sony has seemingly revealed two of the free PS4 titles for its PlayStation Plus lineup for November extremely early and they are Yakuza Kiwami and Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition.

On the official PlayStation Plus page, Yakuza Kiwami and Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition, both remasters, appear with the text "November Free PS4 Games." No further information is present.

Announcing these games this early is not par for the course for Sony as, for example, October's free games, which include Friday the 13th and Laser League, were revealed on September 26, just a few days before the end of the month.

20 Best Pokemon in Smash Bros.

A four-way Smash battle is coming to an end. Everyone’s down to one stock. You’ve taken heavy damage and those jerks Kyle and Jeff have been teaming up on you all game. You need a miracle item to turn the tide in your favor. The signature sound of a Pokeball hitting the ground fills your ears and you win the race to pick it up. You throw the ball, hoping it’s a Pokemon that’ll win the game for you and finally put Kyle and Jeff in their place. But which randomly summonable Pokemon is the best? That’s what we’re here to decide.

While numerous Pokemon appear throughout the Super Smash Bros. series in the form of playable characters, Trophies, and stage hazards, we’re honing in on the ones that players can summon into the fight via Pokeball (or in rare cases, a Master Ball) to decide which one is the very best. It’s tempting to include Pokemon that we personally hold dear or just ones that are cool to see -- like the extremely rare Mew -- but we’re focusing our guidelines purely on which Pokemon are the most powerful and (super) effective in battle. Yes, this means that a lot of the uber-powered Legendary Pokemon will be dominating this list, but there are a handful of “regular” Pokemon that pack a surprising punch.

The Conjuring 3: James Wan Taps Director to Replace Him at the Helm

The Conjuring has a new puppet-master in director Michael Chaves, who will take the reins off James Wan for its third instalment.

Chaves' most recent film was New Line's The Curse of La Llorona, which Wan produced and is due to hit theaters in 2019. THR reports that Wan will still have a say on The Conjuring 3 acting as its "godfather."

“While working closely with Chaves on The Curse of La Llorona, I got to know him as a filmmaker,” said Wan, per THR. “Chaves’ ability to bring emotion to a story, and his understanding of mood and scares, make him a perfect fit to direct the next Conjuring film.”
