Chris Evans Says His Avengers 4 Wrap Tweet Wasn’t a Spoiler

A tweet from Chris Evans last week made fans think they've figured out how The Avengers 4 ends, but the Captain America actor wants fans to know that his tweet was not intended to reveal anything at all.

“I should clarify that, I know I did tweet something that made a lot of people think that it was in some way a spoiler, and I should clarify that, regardless of how Avengers 4 ends, I would’ve tweeted the exact same thing,” Evans said this past weekend at Chicago’s ACE Comic Con, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Evans let the tweet in question fly on October 4. In it, he talked about his feelings toward suiting up as Captain America after nearly a decade portraying the character.

Edvard Munch ‘The Scream’ Themed Pokemon Cards Coming to Japan

Norwegian painter Edvard Munch is best known for a series of paintings known as “The Scream” and, for whatever reason, there are now five official Pokemon trading cards that play on its distinct style.

As revealed on the official Japanese Pokemon Trading Card Game website, the cards each feature a different Pokemon: Pikachu, Eevee, Rowlet, Psyduck and Mimikyu. It appears that each one uses a scream-based attack to cause confusion.

Though the pairing may seem exceptionally random, the cards have been made in conjunction with an Edvard Munch retrospective exhibit coming to the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum starting October 27. This same day, the cards will become available and will retail for 450 yen. It appears they can be purchased at the exhibit, and some will be given as promotional items for buying booster packs at Japanese Pokemon Centers.

Breaking Down Venom’s Second Weekend at the Box Office

After a huge opening weekend of $80.2 million, many box office prognosticators felt the surprising success of Venom wouldn’t last, predicting a big second weekend drop in the 60% range.

While most expected the Spider-Man spin-off to easily win its second weekend, which it did with an estimated $35.7 million, most weren’t expecting that minimal a drop, with this weekend just 55.5% off its debut.

Second weekend success is crucial to a movie’s overall success at the box office, so we’re breaking down Venom’s performance compared to other superhero movies, and Venom’s second frame is actually a lot better than many superhero movies.

Dracula Series Coming to Netflix and BBC From Sherlock Team

We don't know if we'll ever get a new season of Sherlock, but the masterminds behind the Benedict Cumberbatch series are now turning their attention to another literary icon.

Writer-producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss will offer a fresh take on Dracula in a new miniseries, inspired by the classic Bram Stoker novel. BBC One and Netflix will co-produce the project, which will consist of three 90-minute episodes. Per the BBC's release, "Set in Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. And be warned: the dead travel fast."

In a statement, Moffat and Mark Gatiss said, “There have always been stories about great evil. What’s special about Dracula, is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero.”

Rockstar Clarifies Statement About Red Dead Redemption 2’s 100-Hour Weeks

A recent interview with Rockstar Games suggested Red Dead Redemption 2 saw weeks of massive overtime work; however, one of the company's executives has clarified his statements.

Rockstar co-founder and Vice President of Creativity Dan Houser told Vulture that the team behind Red Dead 2 worked very long weeks this year.

“We were working 100-hour weeks,” Houser said, initially in a comment that has since drawn ire on social media given the continued discussions about the nature of "crunch" developing in the gaming industry.

Horror Movie Franchises That Never Stopped Being Entertaining

Sequels don't necessarily have to be bad, but a lot of them are, and it's always frustrating to fall in love with a movie and discover that many (if not all) of the follow-ups are major disappointments. It's a phenomenon that happens all the time, especially in the world of horror movies, where there are tons of genuine horror classics that spawned long-running franchises that quickly sank into mediocrity, and then into junk.

Even some of the most popular horror movie franchises, like Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street, are frustratingly spotty. Some of the sequels/remakes are good, some of them are painful, so watching them all together isn't necessarily a good idea. It's hard to make a great horror movie, but to make a series of consistently good horror movies - or even just consistently entertaining ones - is an accomplishment worth celebrating too.

Valve Clarifies Statements on Artifact’s Chat Moderation

Valve has clarified its statements about Artifact’s text chat and moderation, confirming to IGN that players will be able to turn off their opponent’s chat.

During PAX West, Valve revealed that Artifact would have global text chat, including with the random opponents you play against. The studio quickly came under fire when the development team’s Jeep Barnett and Richard Garfield didn’t speak to what sort of moderation that chat would have during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz.

But after I spoke with them at Valve’s Seattle office last week, it sounds like Artifact’s chat won’t be the Wild West initial reports have made it seem. Barnett told me his lack of hard details on moderation features stems from the fact that the Steam development team is making the chat system that Artifact will use, not the Artifact team directly.
