How Daredevil Season 4 Could Include X-Men Mythology

This interview contains spoilers for the end of Marvel's Daredevil Season 3, which is now streaming on Netflix.

The ending of Daredevil Season 3 hints that Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter is right on target (sorry) for a transformation into Bullseye in a potential Season 4 of the Netflix drama, with the final shot of the season evoking Bullseye's iconic symbol of concentric circles through a reflection in Dex's eye.

Some fans have speculated that this shot means that the surgeons operating on the villain are imbuing Dex with special powers in addition to reinforcing his spine with cogmium steel, but showrunner Erik Oleson clarified the moment for IGN in a recent interview, which you can watch above.

The Death of FilmStruck is a Terrible Thing

It was announced this morning that WarnerMedia is going to be discontinuing FilmStruck – the streaming service devoted to the best in classic, international, and art cinema – on November 29 of this year. That gives us just over a month to view as much of their carefully curated collection as we can before the library is, effectively, scattered to the winds.

This news is, of course, a great blow to fans of classic and international film. When FilmStruck was first announced back in 2016, cinephiles everywhere were elated. No longer would those seeking great movies have to deal with the fickle, ever-mutating online catalogues of services like Netflix that filled up their archives with a spate of brand new original releases and, often, unknown B-movies of dubious quality (not that there is anything wrong with said original programming, or even with unknown B-movies, but when on the prowl for classic cinema, it did tend to get in the way). Now we could simply subscribe to a service that offered the best of the Criterion Collection and Turner Classic Movies instantly. FilmStruck was essentially delivering on the promise that online streaming services originally made: complete, easy, instant access to a collection of the best movies in the world.

Castlevania’s Showrunner on Symphony of the Night Possibilities

Just in time for Halloween, Netflix has released the highly-anticipated second season of Castlevania, which we say, "is even better than the first, as it offers a deep roster of heroes and villains" in our Season 2 review.

In a recent interview with executive producer Adi Shankar, he spoke about the Castlevania video games and characters he would like to adapt in future seasons. “I think for people in our specific age demographic, it’s Symphony of the Night," Shankar explained. "That was Playstation I, it was a giant technological leap forward. It’s Alucard’s story, so it was a deviation from always being Belmont with a whip. If you look at Castlevania as a timeline (game universe vs. our cinematic universe) SOTN happens quite a bit down the road. But it would be kind of like if you did Captain America: First Avenger, and then the second movie you did Civil War.”
